The Crew: Wild Run Edition

VXR
Thanks guys.

I haven't started the first mission yet and I'm a bit bored of shooting my Challenger over and over again lol.

@VXR Same as my cars, I have now got to level 5 but can't start a lvl 6 mission yet, What is the quickest way to level up or gain cash for cars in between waiting for a mission if you have done all the ones at your level? I don't find this game the easiest to navigate or find my way around menus..And really want the Ford Cars !:sly:

Landmarks (2K per) and skills. Data Stations will help with both.

Its a long time since I levelled up, but once you get to a certain point, it used to be quick and easy to level up using the ski ramp once you make the map appear around Salt Lake. Basically, I just bombed it down the ramp over and over.

For bucks, the best way of making money is the Landmarks as @TJ13 says.

By the way, here's my latest vid of The Crew. You might need to be a certain age to get the music reference...

One interesting question from the Ubisoft survey about a hypothetical expansion or sequel....

"Imagine that a new expansion for The Crew was released. Which of the following settings would you like to play the most?"

1.Oceana

2. Europe

3. Remain in the USA with new gameplay features and or New cities

4. Africa

5. South America

6. Asia

7. Expand territory in North America (e.g. Canada, Mexico)

----

I almost said Europe right off the bat because that would be awesome. Oceana would be great too mainly because Oahu was great in TDU. They could also do the big island too since it hasn't been done before, but if we are talking about expanding the current game then I thought # 7 made the most sense; besides, there are sections of Canada that I would love to free roam in.

Within the next 3 years, I can see 2 of the 7 coming. Refer to this post for more details, but for me it basically boils down to #3 and #7.

Is there a better way of upgrading vehicles than relying on skill challenges? Because this Smart Loot idea is stupid. I've spent the last hour winning bumpers, colours and stickers and not actually winning anything that makes the vehicle faster in any way.

And also, does anyone understand how the reward system works with the Summit vehicles? Is it an 'everyone in the platinum overall ranking gets one?' Or can you get the vehicle if you are in gold ranking, but had a platinum in an event? I don't know, nothing seems to explain how it works.

Any challenge (jump, speed, slalom, etc.) should give you performance upgrades. It's displayed on the map what kind of upgrade you get, so if you need a specific one (e.g. brakes) you just drive to the challenge that gives it. Also make sure you find all the data stations so all challenges are displayed on the map.

This was done before the smart loot system was added, After you get so far in the game the skills all start becoming Smart Loot Only for platinum.

Smart loot was better when it first was out, where you would win a new part every time. Easy fast quick way of leveling up.
Then December's update screwed it up where skills gives you non performance parts but cosmetics (Or parts that you already have just a different bonus)
They did change it back to somewhat normal, but still way off. Where skills are less likely to give platinum parts than like factions/summit events.

Way to upgrade anything fast? Haven't figured that one out yet.

Never knew that. So far, I always got performance parts (at level 44 or so).

Once you hit level 50 then it's all going to smart loot.
There still maybe be one part here and there, but even then it's few and far between.

Edit: Looks like the servers are unstable this morning to now just seeing a disruption on the ps4 side. Looks like I might not be upgrading my Zonda perf to max today.

Here are my rewards from the last 2 Summit platinum events. Now I have an extra free drag car, drift car, and monster truck I need to use.
1.png 2.png

I also decided to get a start on this final summit event. Ran a couple quick runs with the monster truck and the long jump. Both are platinum positions. I think I had around 38,000 points with the monster truck. I forgot my long jump time but it put me within 200th place in the world. Maybe I had 28,000 points in that? I cant remember. I made 1 run at the speed trap challenge but I ran a very low bronze time. That has a lot of room for improvement for sure. Ran a couple drag times with my slowest drag car just to level it up with more platinum and gold parts. So that can improve if I use my fastest car. Then I started on the FD stunts but only had enough time for about 10 minutes. I will put more effort into those over the weekend. Off to a pretty decent start.

Well I managed to get my zonda up to max, Did a +9 mph increase on the speedtrap.
Did the crew time event, Put me at 711 into Platinum with that. Just got Stunts to do depending on how good/bad I fall over the next few days.

Also I have notice that the FD Stunts resets every time you start up the game. So I guess you could maybe farm low levels if wanted to.

Yes they do reset but keep in mind, the points at the lower level are very low points. The higher you rank up in the FD stunts the more points you receive. When we were around level 60 in the FD stunts I believe we were earning around 40-60 points per event. I even earned enough to unlock a drag car. And place 1st in the world. The points rack up extremely fast the higher you level up the stunts.
I will have to try and find a video over the weekend to see how many points we were earning around level 60.

Edit1: Found a video in my DVR. At level 53 we earned 44 points for one of the events that took us 1-2 minutes to complete. I know it was higher around level 60. And even higher for longer events. Drift 632 yards.

Edit2: At level 45 we earned around 43 points in 1 minute for a couple events. Had to destroy 90 objects in 1 minute.
I was already 1st place in the world when this event was complete.

FD Stunts are Bucks based, So the Points were added to get the spec kit. While yes at high ones can probably earn lots but sometimes it's easier to do lots of lows than try to gain high.

Also I am trying to figure out what car can do 236 mph in a speedtrap. Probably a hacked one but still.

Try the Circuit-spec Ninja H2. That bike can reach speeds upwards 250 mph when maxed. The Circuit-spec Ferrari 458 and Ford GT are very fast as well.

I agree...just keep in mind a LOT of the high challenge points have to be completed in less than 1-2 minutes. So you are earning over 43-50 points extremely fast. Usually within 2 minutes. I still struggle on the near miss challenges. Especially the one that requires missing over 65 cars within 1:30 seconds with a drag car.

When it comes to the 236mph car, that does sound hacked since that event is "Performance" only cars. If I remember correctly. Or maybe someone was drafting off of a friend? Not sure if that is a solo event only or if it can be completed with crew members.

I think it is performance only. Pretty sure you cant use circuit cars for that event. I think my top speed for that event was 162 mph. I only ran it 1 time.

Hm. I didn't play The Crew in quite some time.
Each Summit has different events that require different cars. Some are Dirt, some performance, street, drag, or circuit. I think that speed trap event is Performance. So if someone is hitting 236 with a performance car, there is something going on for sure. Could be cheating, or if it is a co-op event, they could be drafting. 236 does sound fishy.

Yea. It's a Perf only spec.
I managed 187 with a Zonda max, instead of my Lovely Lotus. (I will check it out again)

Edit: 237.8 mph on a perf speed run.
Also got some more glitched times on Drag. 5 seconds.

Still holding 780 which is about 700+ to Gold again.

That's what I thought. I managed around 168 on my first run using the Hot Rod performance car. I don't think I have any performance cars at level 1,000 yet. I will have to improve those and make another couple runs at it. I am sure I should be able to hit at least 170 after a few tries.

OK, so I'm obviously late to the party, but seeing the giant cow in the game lead me to Googling it and the real sculpture, Salem Sue of North Dakota.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salem_Sue

As an outsider looking in, it's always been the sort of thing that has fascinated me so much.

So I think this website could come in handy for anyone else like me who gets caught up in the ephemera of Americana.

Maybe I'm off my rocker but I think these would be fun to have in the game as a new spec, Extreme Speed spec or something. I mean you already have the Bonneville Raceway in the game, so why not? Want to race a 1000 MPH/1609 kmh car? Why yes please, thank you.

That may be a bit too fast for the game's map. But just a little bit.

I can't decide between the PS4 or Xbox One version since both look very similar in terms of graphics quality. However does anyone know what one has the least amount of jagged edges, because from what I have seen not one edition seems to be getting an upper hand.

There are going to be some just that it also depends on how well you want to play with others.
@CAMAROBOY69 is on Xbox one (I believe), and the summit has less people
I am on PS4 and there is always at lease a good chunk of them on.
I know it's a bit faster with a Solid State Hybrid Drive but still doesn't compete with the jagged edges.

From the comparison shots you have seen what version do you believe has the least amount of jagged edges.

Funny thing is you can already see a couple of those cars sitting as decoration on the flats. :)

Well I personally don't exactly know but there is a few youtube vids that shows them side by side.

Just checked a few comments in one of the YouTube comparison videos and on the whole it was a complete waste of time. :irked: Because most of the comments are part of a flame war, which doesn't help me decide what version to pick. And due to this it looks like I might be giving The Crew a miss.

However with that said, all I can say is one more thing. Thanks for giving out your thoughts. 👍

Did some FD stunts, Got to level 14 or 15 then I quit after getting annoyed by other players ruining my stuff. Had to do 60 cars no crash. Then some random dude tp's right infront of me and I crash. :/
