The Crew: Wild Run Edition

I thought I had the same problem with the Long Jump event in the summit. There was 3-4 people legitimately trying to do the skill mission and then this monster truck appeared wrecking himself all over the place in front of us. I thought, why would a person try to do the ski jump in a monster truck? Griefing? Then I realized that he was actually trying to do the event and apparently is just a really bad driver. I ended up taking 24th in the world in that event so no worries.

Being an average driver myself, I've always loved the fact that The Crew seems to work well and be fun whatever skill level you are.

It wasn't me in that monster truck though although you've given me an idea ...
 
So for anyone figuring out how to get a good score on that Speedtrap event, here's the route I took (that trap at the end might be a little hard to hit unless you go fast enough on the turns):

Climbed my way into the top half of the Platinum rank for The Summit today, because I'm pretty sure everyone in the platinum rank will get the bike. Now I just have to keep an eye on the rankings to make sure I stay in platinum. This is one of the cons of the ranking system they've implemented. It's a great idea, and I like how the ranking you are in is based on how you compare to other players, rather than having set goals to achieve (because that would make platinum rank too easy, and then there would be too many people in platinum). But for people who sort of just want to get into platinum, and stay there; it's a bit of a pain because you have to keep going if you want to maintain your position.

Yesterday I did a near 90 minute freedrive challenge race against one other guy who's internet was shockingly bad. I don't know why I kept on driving, as I didn't know how the game decides how many points you get from each race... The reality was, I went from not even being in bronze, to Gold rank for the event afterwards. And the race was great too because I went around parts of the map that I still hadn't explored at the time, and it was nice to see the sights.
 
I know I was around 600 last night overall. Might give it another shot today sometime. Then most likely on Sat or Sun do some more FD stunts.
(Since 2 runs of 13 yesterday) Got me up to 700 ranking.

Edit: Managed to get just passed level 8 and got me up to 500 ranking on FD Stunts, which in return got me to 600 ranking overall. Which is just about 1500 above. I think I am sitting very good to get Platinum if I don't do nothing else now.

Him: Seems kinda pointless if the game does the driving for you i mean ,, i know and whoever sees it that knows your being a woman

Also he said,I dont care if your a non driving wuss but others lol o boy you think im bad

Me:The 🤬 are you talking about? So because i got assist on means i suck??? Quit trying to start ****. At the end of the day this is an arcade game. You acting like this is project cars or assetto corsa.

Him:Learn to drive better with no computer driving for you , i pay to play you not your ps4 programming

Me:What? How you go try to tell someone else how to play the game??? You sound 🤬 stupid right now. It's an ARCADE GAME. Not a sim like project cars or assetto corsa.

Him:Its better ,,, you can play like a kindergartner (u). Or you can play like its a sim. (me ). Turn your assist off and learn boy lol. I own a project car in real life and drive it at the drags every weekend trust me this Arcade game witch is luaghable considering im on a 90 in smart with 7.2 dolby yamahas lol cmon arcade is refrence 2 a 2 dimension game ,,, hardly 2d world man

Me:I can kick your ass on project cars. The crew is probably the only racing game i play with assist on because i don't like the way it feel when i turn it off. Once again quit trying to tell someone how to play the game. If i wanna play with assist on i am going to ****ing do it. Don't tell me how i should play the game. At the end he basically compare this stuff to real life and blah blah blah. Anyway don't tell me how to 🤬 playing the game. I can play it how i wanna play it. Btw i copy and paste the conversation from my ps message app.

If I buy the Season Pass, do I still have to fork out crew credits to purchase them? Because while I love the 300 SLR, and have wanted it in a game for a very long time. There ain't a hope in hell I'm going to pay nearly $50 for the Season Pass, and then another $50 on Crew Credits just for one or two cars.

I managed to understand it: This random thinks @Elitekilla29 isn't as good as he is, because he uses All Driving Help and a PS4 controller, yet he uses Hardcore assists (and, I'm guessing, Manual gears and a Logitech G29) and loses. As a user of both Hardcore assists and Manual gears, I can safely say that you're allowed to do whatever you want as long as everyone's having fun in whatever way they want to. Everyone's going to have their own driving style, which doesn't involve driving aids as much as it does their co-operative skills as well as whatever techniques and tricks they use in FreeDrive, Missions, and PvP. No one can tell them to change their style; it instead evolves over time into a driving/racing style that they can ostensibly call their own. Also, knowing how to race at the local track in real life has nothing to do with how good you are with a controller and a TV screen. That said, knowing how to race at the local track in real life does help with the almost-life-like simulators. But at the end of the discussion, even those sims are still video games to the core.

From memory, when you have the season pass the stock car is delivered to your garage but you have to use credits for the spec upgrades (street, circuit etc). At least that's how I remember it (it's been four months so a bit hazy lol). Can anyone else confirm this?

Way the Season pass works. Is that you get all season pass cars (Full stock) then you can use either CC or Bucks to do spec upgrades. So as long as you have a lot of bucks you can buy just about everything. (For a rough estimate on how much you would need to max out a car would be nearly 500K Bucks for Circuit, no bonus)

With about an hour left in the summit. Got a good situation in Platinum. I have at lease 1500 above the cut line. Should have the bike by 515 pm CT.
 
I placed 383rd in The Summit (cutoff for platinum on PC was at around 900). So I got myself a lovely BMW GS. Tops out at about 200KM/H (about 124 MPH), has Street, Dirt and Raid spec. I've been waiting for a touring/adventure bike ever since Wild Run came about, so it's time to mess about. :D
 
Finished 980 cutoff was 2900ish so I was solidly in.
At lease the specs are halfway decent. Could always use more.
 
After receiving the BMW bike as a prize, I took it on a full stock cruise over to buy a Raid spec kit for it. Next I tested it out at a stunt arena and that is when I noticed the trick set is different than the KTM bike. The flying superman trick is off-angle for one, which looks really good, and I noticed this trick is new, not sure what you call it.

I posted some of the other tricks in my Photos thread if you want to see more examples, anyway I just thought it was cool that each bike had different trick sets.

My suggestions for new cars

Regarding the topic of whether they add more cars to the game or not, I have heard some speculation that they will not add any new manufacturer licenses this late in the game. So I am posing the question:

If they were to add new cars to The Crew using only the existing licenses, which cars would you like to see?

My first thought was the BMW E30 or the E36, in fact I don't believe this game has a 3 series of any kind, seems strange that they didn't add one yet. I don't use the M5 in the game, and I haven't bought the X6. The only BWM in the game that I really use regularly (in all specs) is the Z4

I don't really have to have these, but I'm surprised you can even release a contemporary racing game without a WRX or an R35.

I feel like the most lucrative modern cars for any racing developer would be: Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, R35, WRX, 458, and Huracan.

Also, older cars like Supras, Evos, and R34s can sell games by themselves.

I was in 4th place in the world in that event for a while. Only 526 points from #1 but just couldn't quite take the top spot. Especially with other people on the ramp all the time.

Also won the bike for the overall monthly since I had platinum in the entire event.

Last night I also already completed this coming monthly challenge to level a Dirt class vehicle to 1197. The reward is $100,000.

During the drift event I had 106,752 points and that was amazing for me. Later @DDastardly00 came in and crushed my score. I didn't even attempt to beat his score. He ended up with around 139,000. :lol:

@CAMAROBOY69 yeah that BMW bike is a good Raid Spec vehicle, overall it's not quite as good as the KTM Raid but it does have a higher top speed and a different trick set, I really like it.

@PsuPepperoni I would love to have Toyota in this game, don't think it will ever happen but just the thought of having a Supra, and a Celica GT FOUR in this game is nice. Same thing with Mitsubishi.

I think the 2 most under-used licenses in the game are Subaru, Mazda, if we ever do get any more Japanese vehicles, the it will likely be from those two.

From the rear angle of that shot his arm is across his lower back and his other hand is not gripping the Handle bars even though it looks like it, it's just suspended in the air. I have no idea what you call that trick. I am loving that BMW bike though, I also bought the street spec for it too.
