Hello and happy new year to all of you Se7eners
just a bit of info about the next few days around the Cat7cc.
I was planning to have a test raceday this Sunday at 11:00PM Japan time, 2:00PM GMT.
First venue will be the Nordschleife, and the damage may be turned to light if it is what the majority wants.
Following venues will be voted.
I will hold a practice lobby today same time of day. 2:00PM GMT
Regarding the club race day time, I was recently asked by fellow drivers who also race in
@Sick Cylinder 's Classix Sundays, if it was possible to change the weekly cat7cc event time. As I have said before, nothing is definitive about raceday time.
That being said, I was kind of hoping that this club would gather in the evening for Oceania-Asia, in the afternoon for Africa-Europe, and in the morning for the Americas, thus making me choose Sundays for convenience and availability of the drivers.
As I am planning on joining Sick's Classix Sundays as well, and since it is supposed to start at 5:00PM GMT, I think there would be plenty of time to hold 2 x40-50km races before the Trans Ams. (3-hour span seems long enough)
Please let me know what you feel could be the best solution to this problem.
Regarding the number of entries of this club, we are currently way past 16 membeRS and some of you have started to ask for reserve positions.
I intend to deal with this issue like following:
- 1single lobby up to 16 entries.
- from 17 to 26 entries, only the 10 best Q times enter the main race lobby, the 7 to 16 drivers will race in lobby #2. Lobby#2 will embrace the same set of rules as lobby#1.
- from 27 to 32 entries, lobby #1 will be filled gradually by the 11th to 16th Q times.
I will have to rethink the points system and will keep you posted.
As for the teams, if nothing has been decided by Sunday, what about grouping the first and the last and so on...(2nd & 2nd to last, etc...)?
I have recruited a few Japanese lads who ran a Caterham club on slightly different specs(PP570-SS, no min.weight, no tuning restrictions) but they were quite lost with the Praiano rules so they might not dare to join us on race days.
