Not trying to downplay PD's hard work & effort, but is this all they really have to show for it?

What were they going to give us if they had released this at the end of 2009? Or on March 2010?

My thoughts too. Gutted there are no Sierra Cosworth and the new shape focus rs!!!

The Focus RS has been on the cover on every car magazine since it was launched - its madness that its not in the game.

Now this thread has a REAL purpose. All the cars and tracks that didn't get included, and the cars that are *gasp* STANDARD!!!

Let the rending of garments continue!

The damage system sucks there I said it you will all be witness to this nov 24

100+ mph right into a wall and all you will get is a broken left headlight
very limited tuning options
most cars are very outdated and little to no american cars
it really looks like GT4 HD

and this car should be in this game with these kind of graphics

What in the world have been PD and KY doing during all these years?! Not a single good thing, no surprises (apart from the F10), no cockpit in most of the cars, all the best tracks left out (even the ones that were in GTPSP)... KY, this isn't about perfection of photography, this is about racing! I don't care if I have 8 billion polygons in a cloud if I don't have the main things. Forza has for sure made it better, with a detailed enough and fair selection of cars, customization... (but I won't pay for playing online on Live). Next-gen everybody go for PC's and forget about waiting 5 years for an incomplete and flawed product.

This dissapoints me the most... I mean a lot of cars is great, but tracks are the "level"s of a driving game and limiting those means you are limiting the longevity of the game.

And I REALLY wanted to drive Citta di Aria and Paris in GT5 glory... WHY LEAVE THOSE OUT!!!!????::ill:

Amen bro, I was really looking forward to those city rally courses.

Instead of having 10 NSX's or Impeza's etc they could of squeesed in some new cars, this is Gran Turismo 4.5.

The reveiwers are going to rip this game to shreds - wheres are all the new cars.

This games old before its out.

Note to PD: Must try harder.

Not gonna lie, i'm also disappointed in the car list. Mainly with VW. As an owner and fan, there are only a couple cars i like... but all i really wanted to see was the Corrado, and it's not there. All i want to do is play my car in a video game and i can't.

Cancelled my CE preorder!

Sorry, but this car list and track list is a joke.
This is not a complete game.

Nissan Micra, VW bus, suzuki capuchino all standards. PD this is a f!§$%& joke!

Another GT:5 Prologue 2. Nothing more.

Yes shiny graphics and weather (only certain tracks).

After this long wait, it is more than dissapointing.

noticed they still have the 2000 SS to represent the LS1 4th gens, 01-02 is a better choice. not to mention if your going to have 15 different civics you could add a '99 1LE Z/28, 2001 Z/28 and the rare 2002 ZL1.

The carlist was a huge turn down, it was like finding out that the girl you flirted with last night turned out to be a man.

Wow, except the 458, 330P4 and F10 we have seen all of them. The SP1 and 430 Scuderia will exactly drive themselves like the original 430.
Im sure that the handling of the F10 will be very similar to the F2007 too.

And come on... Only 2 classic Ferrari`s (512BB and 330P4)?

Ferrari is all about racing, there aren`t many constructors who can look back at such a motorsport history (eventhough Renault, BMW, Mercedes, AutoUnion, etc are much older). If you include Ferrari, you have to include their famous race cars too. Only 2 F1 cars, both of them from our modern era. No turbo F1 car or pre-wing car. Only 1 LeMan car.

But 16 stock S2000, about 80 Skylines, dozens of NSX`s and 350Z.

Seriously, this is probably the biggest disappointment for me. I knew we only saw a few Ferrari's in pics and videos but I was hoping that when I actually got the game (or saw a car list) that there would be many many more.

Why even make the SP1, I didn't even know what this was until I looked it up. There are too many Ferrari's left out to even list. I mean if PD has the rights to put Ferrari in the game why not take full advantage of it?

Just off the top of my head...

F50, 288 GTO, 355, 360, 360 CS, 275 GTB, 550, 575, 599 GTO, Testarossa, 250 GT California, older F1 cars, not to mention all the Challenge racecars...

The VW bus is standard? It was fully modeled at Gamescom or TGS?

That's exactly what I was thinking They showed some 5 pictures of the bus alone inside and out. I am starting to think that some of the people here were right and that there are very low detailed cockpits in standard cars. Just have to wait and see... Only 12 more days.

Just read the track list again to see if there are any hidden gems I may of missed to cheer me up a bit but no I didn't find any - the car list is a joke.

Have they had their heads in the sand for the last 6 years or however long it has been?

I think you would agree we would rather have just 500 new cars instead of 1000 old cars in HD ands the odd new one.

The people over at Forza must think that Christmas has arrived early looking at the car and track list .

Biggest let down of 2010 this is - and they can't even market the game properly either - so KY - in the words of Sir Alan Sugar "Your Fired!"

I don't understand the complaints about the premium Cappuccinos. There were a couple in prologue, so most were already done, and they're a great challenge to drive quickly. I spend lots of time with them.

El Capitan being missing hurts my soul though. It was my 'home track,' where I tested all my cars for the last half decade. Does anybody else remember seeing a quick flash of it in a recent trailer? Maybe a DLC track later on?

Man I really hope there are some surprises when we actually get the game. But I think not, they wouldn't release this to piss everyone off and cause ppl not to buy the game.

I guess what we can hope for is DLC... and lots of it. However, I don't want to pay for **** that should have been in the game to begin with.

Yes, and the Trabant 601 S is also standard. I don't buy this game!

Do you seriously believe that was possible?

Throw away those 800 standard cars and you may have got 10% more premiums at best.

What's going on with the Ferrari's? They could have put so many more in. Same goes with Lamborghini and Maserati. I am also upset to see that there is no Saab and very few Volvo. Like Vantage2 said above, there has to be DLC. I don't mind paying for it, just bring on more of these manufactures.

I am also bit confused, as the Ferrari F40 1992 has a full cockpit view in Prologue.

I would be pleasantly surprised if all cars have a cockpit view, albeit low detailed. The F40's interior is certainly ok to look at in Prologue.

Exactly :grumpy:

I'm sure KY has has already realized

- He is only human, keeping the hardware and time restrictions in mind is an integral part of a game development strategy, it doesn't mean that the other developers are stupid (Too much detail in premiums)

- Doing the right things is just as important as doing things right (500 cars, 50,000 polygons each, super cars and racing cars with interiors, much more people would have been happy with that)

- Even if you are trying to do more doesn't mean that you screw up things that you've always been good at (Missing tracks, even the ones that were in the series since the original)

It is very VERY OBVIOUS that in an effort to beat the competition (that really did not exist till GT4) PD has completely panicked and tried to do much more than it could have. ( Its like Volvo ditching safety and trying to build the best super car ever)

On the other hand, they just couldn't be more arrogant, could they? I mean outsourcing standard models to be updated to something like 25,000 polygons would have been better than anything PD can achieve with 5000.

This game should simply be moved to the PC, I am certain that a good chunk of the development time and effort has been spent on optimizing the software to make it possible for the PS3 to run it.

The kind of finances that these people had access to (made through 20% of the content of the full game; that is prologue) I was expecting so much more.

It really really sucks for the Playstation fans, I would recommend Sony to get these people to get their affairs in order and come up with products that are good for their consoles early in the console life cycle. Its business, its about the end user experience, its not art, its not about technical achievements.

One decent cross platform racing simulation and PD loses the capability of selling Prologues, just assume Forza were cross platform, GT5P sales would really have suffered.
