IIRC, they would have made interior changes on the real car in and around 2006 and possibly new suspension settings, but they look almost identical cars in those MYs. So what benefit is the 03, with reduced graphical quality?

You mean a Blu-Ray disc?! And they said it's a 10 GB install?! Did Polyphony at least read the Wikipedia article saying that a Blu-ray can hold at least 25 GB of data in a single layer?! Maybe they'll take full advantage of the 25 GB when they work on GT6 if possible. For now, I'm getting more than my money's worth. GT5 is better than nothing.

They could have put so many more in.

Well if rage is to put how I feel about this game (I'm still going to get it), then you would be wrong. I'm more disappointed at the car list, I posted my thoughts in the news tab> complete car list section.

It's pretty pathetic for a $60,000,000+ game to be inadequate when it comes to cars, I know its touted as the Real Driving Simulator, but give me a ****ing break! A Toyota Prius is a premium car???? Maybe if they didn't waste their time on BS like this they would have put more ICONIC cars than **** box FWD cars.

Real Driving Simulator, which has race tracks meant for racing on?
Then why isn't the likes of:
'03 SVT Cobra, '11 Mustang GT, '11 Mustang GT500, '08 Viper, '06 GTO in this game????

It is very VERY OBVIOUS that in an effort to beat the competition (that really did not exist till GT4) PD has completely panicked and tried to do much more than it could have. ( Its like Volvo ditching safety and trying to build the best super car ever)

While I felt this as incredibly obvious during the Xmas 09 season where it seemed FM3's featuers and bullet points made PD step back and rethink their game to up the antie; it really bothers me that even if they HADNT done that and actually released xmas 09 that we would have gotten a game less than this...

At least now they can tout the track editor, day/night and weather, but was GT5 as we see it today, minus those features really what PD planned to release a year ago?

It certainly seems it must have been... and that seems highly quesitonable...

Yea, noticed that. I think the only difference between those 2 cars in reality is the interior. So basically the 06 is premium because they decided to model the interior and the 03 is standard because it doesn't have an interior view.. lol amazing

the 10gb install is so things run smoother. they probably did use as much of the 50gb's as possible, but the ps3 can read things off the HDD quicker than it can off a blu-ray disc so things are sped up and quality is improved with the big install.

If we can imagine an isolated scenario, say driving a Ferrari 458 using cockpit view, on SSR7 at night in the rain, flying down the main straight having just installed a race exhaust system this will be the greatest game on earth (for a car enthusiast). This is what I'm looking forward to now, these moments of brilliance. And for this, even with all the disappointments, purchasing the game will be worth it.

And of all of those, it doesn't even say if the 2006 version is the CR, which would have at least been noticeably different to the 03.

As I've always said on FM.net where people continue to ask for older 200SXs and the like, the manufacturer gets nothing in advertising for cars they stopped making two decades ago, so I'd be very surprised if Honda forces PD to include 16 variants of a car it last made in 2008/09.

AAAAAARRRGH I know right? GT2 had some awesome and unique cars, what happened to them? They got replaced with stuff like this. Sylines are pretty bad too - most of them are either duplicates, slow, or so old no one cares about them anymore, even in Japan.

thats pretty much the truth to it. which is why i find the Camaro not having more options seeing as the differences are pretty minor visually, it's all performance differences. For the 4th gen they don't even use the fastest year models for the Z/28 and SS.

I look at the list, hover over Peugeot, they have the Team Puegeot Total 908 and the Oreca Matmut 908, how friggin hard would it have been to put in a Pescarolo 908:

Its the same bloody car only with a different livery, and Pescarolo has been wearing PlayStation livery since GT4

And nuts to those who say "but its the real DRVING simulator not the real RACING simulator",
Newsflash, the majority of most peoples time is spent racing, not driving at appropriate highway speeds and learning hill starts.
