SSSSSSSSSSSoooo... I JUST finished Steins Gate.
here is final judgement:
8/10. It's not quite the hype that Lol-blade made it out to be, but it's nowhere near the ">SG" Walter punchline either... but then again, we all know Walter is a pedotroll.

So, if you can get past or ignore the absurdity of how a microwave and a cellphone can work together to function as a time machine, it gets pretty good. It starts off slowly but it's not tiring, you're just anxious for it to pick up, and once it does it's like a rollercoaster. The final episodes are basically the entire series, and one cannot stop wondering how a sad ending could have been, what with Okabe dying and all that.
Bits that make an anime -music, animation, etc- are nothing out of this world really, this is one series that relies entirely on it's story and structure to suceed, and it does it well. It'll take another watch to try to find holes in the time travel structure, but that won't happen soon, and to be honest I don't feel like looking for mistakes. Out of the bat the series was rock-solid, I liked it very much.

Most of the anime I've claimed to be ">SG" is genuinely better IMHO. And you can't say otherwise unless you've also watched the other anime which I've compared against S;G.
That being said, the other uses of ">SG" were obviously just me being a pedotroll. Except for cheese... that really is better than S;G. So tasty!

Posted about the last two Rebuild films earlier. I still need to see those sometime, but first things first, gotta get and watch the entire TV series.

Watched the dub for Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal finally, and I must say, it did at least get better with each act. I ended up growing to like it (Well, the second half in Betrayal that is. Still not really much of a fan of it in the first half, Trust.). Unfortunately, we kept seeing mispronounciations in so many places. Tomoe's name was pronounced correctly like only once
(Kiyasato's voice actor said it while he was dying.)
There wasn't as much emotion (In the places where the English dub dropped the ball by having next to no emotion when emotion was needed.) I feel in many places as the Japanese version, like say in the beginning when the bandits are killing everybody. Though I don't know Japanese fluently, so I can't say that fully.
Also, not the best of casting for certain characters, but many like Enishi's tried their best to fit the role they were given.
Another thing, script changes, I know they have to be done to get the English voice acting to fit the lips easiers, but in a few places, it caused minor story alterations.
Overall, the dub doesn't really detract the quality of an already amazing OVA, though I personally feel the sub is much better in this case.
I wonder what Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection's dub will do for me whenever I get the BD of that.
On a side-note, every time I watch this OVA, I am just wowed at the beauty of it. The landscapes especially, and mainly that lake in the beginning of act 3. So damn beautiful.

Not even lying I was drunk in that picture. We had a party the night before and I woke up still drunk so I decided to keep on drinking. Then we got the idea to go to a driving range. It was fun. I suck at hitting balls with sticks.
