Well, I took a look into Neon Genesis Evangelion. Now moving into the 3rd episode, I'm hooked. :D A shame it only has 26 episodes, and a movie right?

There's also Rebuild of Evangelion, a re-imagining of the series in the form of a film quadrilogy. Currently only the first two are out, but the 3rd is coming out this year and the 4th is coming out in 2013. Definitely check 'em out once you finish the show and End of Evangelion, they're spectacular. 👍

Here is what you're gonna do, you HAVE to follow these instructions tightly. Any TGAT member can certify the accuracy of this post.

You'll watch the first 24 episodes, but you WON'T watch the last two. Instead, you'll watch the "End of Evangelion" movie. Then you can watch the other two episodes just so your curiosity will be satisfied. Then you'll move on to Rebuild of Evangelion, which is an ongoing series of movies that recreates the entire EVA universe. There are two of them now, 1.11 and 2.22 (look for them like that) with the third stated for release this year.

And dismiss Eangelion Death & Rebirth, it's like a short version of the entire series and is absolutely pointless.

That is how you should watch Evangelion.

Well, there are people here who'd disagree about watching EoE before the original last two episodes... but I'm not one of them. :P

I whole-heartedly agree with Cano's instructions here. 👍

Plug suits

Fixed.

Remember when I said I had something planned months ago? This is it! Why did I wait so long? Well I figured it would be a way to celebrate Rykon's upcoming birthday by slapping kamina shades on everyone.

Corvette, I literally thought you were working.

I did too.

Welcome to the thread! :D

BTW, what happened to that random guy who also loves Asuka?

Probably just for today, don't think you are ( not) alone on the Asuka trend.

Does this mean you're part of Team Asuka now? 👍

-> I'm used to be a fan of ADV Films back in their hayday even buying their mangas too! (I still have the original ADV copies of Azumanga Daioh for petes sake) :indiff:

I have that too lol. And I also miss ADV. :(

Nope, I need to be here. I love the members too much to leave :3

D'awwwwwww. <3

I have it for PC and can't play it because I have to fix an error that shouldn't even exist!

Sometimes I hate being a PC nerd. Dammit.

It's totally worth being a PC nerd though.

*Shakes your hand*

Anyways yes, 26 episode plus the move End of Evangelion. And now it's being completely redone. The first two movies are out already with the third movie coming out next November and the final movie supposedly coming out in 2013. It also happens to be the best anime.

Wrong. Watch all 26 episodes and then End of Evangelion. It makes the movie more satisfying.

Then what do I do?

[TGAT Noob] By the way, can I have an explanation of this Team Asuka and what ever that other team may be? [/TGAT Noob]

Don't listen to Sephy. Watching episodes 25 and 26 makes End of Evangelion more satisfying in the same way that watching an awful movie would make watching a great movie next more satisfying.

Watch the "great movie" (EoE) and save the "awful movie" (Eps 25/26) for afterwards if you're really curious to see it. :P

Then what do I do?

Watch the last two episodes before the movie. No they aren't the greatest but they shouldn't just be skipped for no reason.

A faction of TGAT. Teams don't really mean anything but Team Asuka throws awesome parties at our fake mansion. 👍

Then what do I do?

I'm gonna explain it all right as it is: the End of Eva movie is the TRUE Evangelion ending, but since it was SO f%$ed up they made another, less f#%$&ed up ending for the series to be shown on TV, which are episodes 25 and 26.

Believe me, you're WAY BETTER OFF watching the series as it was originally intended by Hideaki Anno, then watching the stuff added for TV later on. You could actually not watch 25 and 26 at all as they do not offer anything to the whole Eva experience anyway, that is why I said you could watch them later just to satisfy your curiosity.

Look, I'm trying to head you in the right direction because Evangelion is a true history-changing anime. There is a before-and-after Evangelion thing, it's one of those series that you don't watch, you experience. Want your experience to be the best possible? Do as I said.

EDIT:

Listen to Walter.

I shoulda done it like that in the first place.

BTW, what happened to that random guy who also loves Asuka?

Iono. Shoulda been here for a longer time but eh.

Wrong. Watch all 26 episodes and then End of Evangelion. It makes the movie more satisfying.

HACKr's order...

@whoever was asking about the order: don't follow mine though, I watched Rebuild first then EoE then the original series which I cbf finishing

"Disregard Sephy

Acquire Currency"

And while you're all telling Elitedreamer what to do, I'm grabbing images for something a little later... I'm so glad most people here are premos now.

No they aren't the greatest but they shouldn't just be skipped for no reason.

Right, they shouldn't be skipped for no reason... They should be skipped (and not even skipped, just saved for later) for the reason that End of Evangelion is meant to take over where episode 24 leaves off. And IMO it's more important to view the entire "final" series (Eps 1-24 + EoE) in one final stretch and not break the flow watching extra stuff (Eps 25/26, Death/Rebirth, Rebuild).

In other words, I think you're not only wrong about EoE being better after episodes 25 and 26, I actually think it's much better watching EoE straight after episode 24 since that's where it picks up from.

Exactly!!! And while you're at it, disregard Asuka team, too.
If he follows our simple instructions, he will be a valuable poster in no time 👍

All thanks to Mr. Goddin. I'm excited to see what you're planning.

EoE is the "replacement" ending that was made.

Anyways I say watch the final two episodes before EoE but I am obviously being shut down so just do whatever you want.

Maybe we need to make a poll for whether we think EoE or the original ending should be watched first.
