This nyan will adapt eventually. I've changed to other sources for certain shows now.

And hi, it's been a while. If all this didn't happen, you wouldn't have made a visit now would you? :sly:

I would have indeed made a visit, at some point that is :nervous:

I'm having to use 'other means' to get my stuff now too, it's really inconvenient and irritating me something rotten :grumpy:

Well, this is the anime thread so I guess I better start talking about anime, don't want to start angering the mods now do I...

I'm guessing you're all watching Nisemonogatari... You lot finding it to have to humour of the previous? It just doesn't feel like a gatari show to me yet, though I'm not saying it's bad at all, of course I'm loving it with my rose tinted specs 👍 You're all probably way a head of me when it comes to airing shows, but episode 1 of Another seemed very promising, can anyone confirm that show is keeping a good pace... That'd be grand

Split decision here on Another. Many of us are enjoying it so far, but a couple think it's too slow and not horrific enough.

In other news, that guy with Holo has a leek on his shirt!:dopey:

We're only on ep3, but it seems to have enough mysteries laid down so far to keep you watching. I don't know if your standards of taste have changed since Steins;Gate, but if it hasn't, I'll return the favour and give you the thumbs up.

If Another doesn't pick up by episode 5, I'm going to be dropping it. Also am I the only one who doesn't even really care about what's under the eyepatch?

Considering that we know what's underneath, there's some underlying symbolism with Misaki, though I think it was obvious.. but with that said, I'm totally willing to throw myself into a deceitful plot.

Also, the dialogue we hear in anime sounds SO different than real Japanese conversation. I only say this now because I'm in class watching a video where Japanese designers are talking.

I'll not rush into the following episodes for now and wait and see what people make of it at round ep 6. A heads up to Bakuman fans, episode 16 is out and it's about damn time.

Edit; it was a RAW but for some reason never specified that. I've never felt so disappointed :(

Yeah tell me about it, I've been waiting for it since sunday glued to my laptop checking all my sources every other hour. I'm becoming really impatient for it, I don't know why sub groups don't like picking it up, personally I think it's one of the best shows in a while, very consistent humour.

wow, let me check.

As well as Bakuman and Nisemonogatari, I'm also half watching Another as you know, I'm thinking about starting Ano Natsu, I have all the current episodes for it but I'm a bit hesitant due to the fact I didn't really like Ano Hana. I'm also slowly building an accumulation of Kuragehime episodes which I'm quite excited about starting. As you can see I don't watch that many shows at one time since my brain is like a sieve. Yourself?

Bakuman II, Mirai Nikki (don't know why you aren't watching this), Guilty Crown (don't know why you aren't watching this either), Another, FMA:B, Bebop, Persona 4, Monster.

I'm postponing Shana III for a while, because each episode is so slow so I'm going to remedy that by running like 2 episodes a day once it's nearly done.

chopsticks are more versatile, son.

Sporks.

Still too early to tell, but episode 3 had a cool ending.

They have nothing to do with each other. Ano Natsu is enjoyable so far, even if it's not what I wanted it to be.

Stupidest, design, ever.

But Hatcha, as someone who is still grateful for accepting to your recommendations on Clannad, Index and Steins;Gate, I'm recommending Guilty Crown and Mirai Nikki to you. 👍

HO-HO! Sorry, I've seen a few people doing that recently :P

Anyway, pretty good choices to be fair, especially with FMA:B, Bebop and Monster, they're all in my top 8. Mirai Nikki had a really really good first episode but I put it hold for reasons I don't even understand. As for Guilty Crown, I watched the first episode and dropped it, looked like a total Code Geass rip off and the main male lead seemed like your average pansy from a bellow par harem.

How you finding Monster? If you really like it I recommend reading 20th Century Boys and Pluto. 20thCB is truly ground breaking stuff, without a doubt better than Monster and is easily Urasawa's best work to date, though all of his stuff is fantastic.

They have nothing to do with each other. Ano Natsu is enjoyable so far, even if it's not what I wanted it to be.

Sorry, my bad. I could have sworn they had the same script writer :S

Sporks are awesome. You suck.

Ooooo new Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai!. I'll be watching that after an episode or two of Burst Angel.

I haven't read it but I have the live-action movies and love them!

Oh I don't know if they do or not.

GC get's better after 10 episodes or so. It's still nothing special so I won't say you have to give it a second chance, but if you're looking for something to watch it might be worth it.

Finished Rurouni Kenshin, the 10/10 still remains. My mean score for "Watching" is now 7.6, but my mean score for "Completed" is still 8.1. One Piece remains my only 10/10 for "Watching" like usual, with Hunter x Hunter (2011) and Bleach being the only 9/10 shows on there. Bleach is getting close to dropping down to that 8/10.

FUNimation survey, woot!:DThis may just lead to them getting something. Thanks to a survey like this once, Princess Jellyfish fans got what they wanted, a DVD/BD release that is the top-selling BD/DVD on Rightstuf right now.
http://www.fandompost.com/2012/01/24/funimation-kicks-off-2012-anime-series-survey/

My responses:

What I would buy:
Gosick, Ben-To (To see what the hype is all about. It got the "Unlicensed gem" award at ANN.), Baka and Test 2 (I'm interested in watching season 1, and probably will like it.), Guilty Crown, Omamori Himari, Mawaru Penguindrum (I'm interested in seeing what the hype was all about.), Nichijou, Fortune Arterial, We, Without Wings: Under the Innocent Sky, AnoHana, The Tatami Galaxy (To see what it's all about. This title I've heard nothing but awesome things for, and people dying for an R1 DVD/BD release.), and A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives.

Top four I definitely would buy:
Gosick, Guilty Crown, Omamori Himari, AnoHana

* Which North American anime DVD or Blu-ray release is the most cherished in your collection? It can be a release from any company, not just FUNimation."
The Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal BD import from Aniplex USA. As for non-imports from them, the Dragon Boxes released by FUNimation.

* Why is that particular release your favorite?
For Rurouni Kenshin, it has such a great remaster, and the packaging is more likable than what is found in R1 usually.

As for the Dragon Boxes, the chipboard box, Dragon Book, packaging, and the Dragon Box masters.

* Which series or movie would you use to introduce a friend to anime?
One Piece, anything Miyazaki.

Do you have any other thoughts about potential new titles from FUNimation?
Will these releases if released in limited editions start including more than just the chipboard art box? Lately, limited editions from FUNimation Entertainment unfortunately include only the chipboard artbox, and nothing like art books, keychains, and more.

Also, FUNimation should acquire the licenses to Neon Genesis Evangelion and End of Evangelion, and release them together as a set.

Fixed. You insist that FUNi needs to re-release EoE before you'll even consider watching it, so why you didn't include that is beyond me. :banghead:

It's seriously like you're hellbent on paying zillions for mediocre anime and then rating 'em 10/10, rather than even show the slightest interest in great anime that'd easily be over 9000 on your horribly un-zeroed scale.

I've been gone all day, anybody notice? :P

More on this after these messages

Might? It certainly would  My nose is a mess, my throat hurts... I'll be lucky if I survive the rest of the week.
WIIIIIIMMMPPPPPP.

Just kidding, it must be awful being somewhere extremely cold without tolerance to it. Get home already.

I'll take OVA BRS.
Sounds good :3
but episode 1 of Another seemed very promising, can anyone confirm that show is keeping a good pace... That'd be grand
Is it keeping a good pace? Yes, it definitely is. Does everyone here like that pace? Nope, but I really like it. It's a GREAT pace for a horror and it keeps getting better.

There was a show at my school, a bunch of band and drama students played music and performed skits. I helped out with the bake sale(Hung out with two cute girls), ate quite a bit of pizza(Some was really messy) and had fun with my friends. So it was a fairly successful night.

Mediocre=Subjective
To you they're mediocre (You still haven't seen Fate/Zero BTW, so you can only say "It seems mediocre.".), but not to me. Steins;Gate being a bad show is subjective, Steins;Gate being a good show is subjective, Steins;Gate being absolutely amazing is subjective, and I could go on.

Also I forgot many things, give me a break. I went "Crap" even when I forgot to mention Hanasaku Iroha and Haganai.

Also, again, these are my 10's. According to MALGraph, I've given only 12 of them.

If you're going to go crap when you forget to mention things, go to the toilet first.

Here's what I don't understand... Why would you pay $370 for an 8/10? Surely that money could go to cheaper(and better, in your opinion) shows. More of them as well.

Only 12

Because I want to support the show, and want a physical copy? I'm not going to be satisfied with having just the legal streams for Fate/Zero, never.

I want a physical copy, and I'm not going to take the chance of passing on this only for it to sell out, and not receive another physical release here ever again like Garden of Sinners. There has been no news on any physical release for Garden of Sinners since the Blu-ray box set that was $400 sold out before it's release nearly a year ago.

I recommend reading into why people would buy imports, even for shows that weren't 10/10 shows for them.

You can go Nordic skiing!

To you they're mediocre (You still haven't seen Fate/Zero BTW, so you can only say "It seems mediocre.".), but not to me.

All the Fate/Shows I've seen weren't spectacular at all. They don't suck, but they always had something that never made it to 8/10 in my book.

Oh no I double posted..........

...or did I????

BTW, Type-Moon worked on Garden of Sinners, the same guys who work on the Fate series.

I really need to watch the movies sometime. The 8th movie exclusive to the BD set which sold out isn't there, but all 7 are up on the PlayStation Store for rental ($3 a movie.). I wish another release could happen so I could own it.

Again, your opinion. I like Fate/Zero enough to be willing to slam $370 down, and another $370 when the second box set comes out.

Bahaha Okay. Do as you like. I'll expose this foolishness in 2 years time.
It's not foolish to those who are willing to buy it.

Those who bought Garden of Sinners for $400 last year, many are still very happy they got the set. I mean seriously, this is an amazing release. Everything about it is just...

Fate/Zero is going to have this treatment, probably similar. Those premium items are absolutely brilliant.
