Cowboy Bebop..... Why didn't I start watching you earlier?

@AOS- , like School Days? Which I'm holding off on subjecting myself to such punishment though I'll hold my judgement
 
Never watching Clannad ever. No matter how much times I'm recommended it I will never watch it. I'm sure watching paint dry is more interesting.

I'm sure it's probably okay but all of the hype my mate has given it I can't bare to watch it. He watches it with the terrible English dub (just as bad as Initial D's), so if he judges it as good I really can't find myself sharing the same opinion of the anime.
 
In this day and age people go a little too far in "hype". But it lives up to it, great show, I'd recommend it the whole way through. Look at MAL's top list, currently it's 6th (After Story, lowest I've ever seen it), usually resides in top 3 so that has to mean something.

Eeeeeh, I suppose I'll give it a watch, but not until I've ran out of things to watch. Would rather watch things I'm looking forward to watching, ya know?

MAL rankings don't really mean 🤬. Hell, look at what shows are ranking high.

Them people haven't seen Tatami Galaxy and probably wouldn't understand it enough either.

Little justice can be done with uneducated people with the same level of voting power.
 
Well yes, but it still amazes me a bit how many find No Game, No Life to be good, much less a masterpiece. It's overrated garbage.

I actually found that myself the other day. Ranted a bit on it too. Very stupid to rate a show that hasn't even aired yet.
I could see people rating F/SN before it airs due to the people making it, which is ufotable. That and it's F/SN.

Got a question: How is Japan so far in cracking down illegal anime/manga sites? I've been hearing several manga scanlation sites being taken down and left with a warning issuing the prosecution

I thought about that when I mentioned the MAL rankings. I don't understand why shows can be rated before they come out or before they're even done airing.

Well it used to be impossible to rate shows before they started airing. The site wouldn't allow you to score, or mark a show as watching until after it started airing, it would delete your progress/scores. Though there was issues with timezones, as Japan is always at least 12 hours ahead of North America, many times with simulcasts on CR you still couldn't mark a show as watched until a day later (That changed thankfully) as the site would be on US time, not JST. Really wondering what's going on. MAL lately has been all about "Hey, we have a web team and will fix the site now! Hey, we have new rules (Reviews right after a show starts are immediately removed) to improve the review section!", and yet the rankings are now more broken.

As for before they're done airing, eh, that's fine. And things can change drastically AFTER the show is finished as some don't score a show until it's done airing. Like I just noticed Shirobako jumped quite a bit after it finished, and on the opposite end, I remember Psycho-Pass 2's ranking plummeted after it finished airing.

My mate keeps nagging me to watch Hajime no Ippo and Kuroko no Basket. I've heard they're good and I don't mind sports. Worth a watch?

You seriously need to watch Cowboy Bebop.
It's great, no way around that... However, in it's age I've come to see that CB is a one shot series that stands out as a standard. Only a handful of other series have made a mark in anime like Cowboy Bebop.

I've been watching it this week. Man it is good! I'm really liking the soundtrack and characters
 
Be sure to later on check out one of the director's other works, Samurai Champloo. Not as good, but it's considered the spiritual successor to Cowboy Bebop with good reason.

I stopped receiving alerts from this thread and now I have no idea what's going on.


Finished Saekano. Turns out that the story goes nowhere. 2/10 and it has a 2 only because of the nice characters. I like girls.
 
I saw Samurai Champloo long ago (Twas good) but I'm gonna rewatch it since I never got to finish it as I've mentioned earlier in this thread. The Nujabes soundtrack I've been listening to for ages, especially Just Forget and Vagrancy, those were real bangers!

Bebop is good so far for me, nice storytelling , dub is amazing and just overall great. Finished Episode 15 now

The same director made Ergo Proxy no?
