Kadokawa hasn't been sacked, just sent to a farm in the countryside...right? Right?
Well Kadokawa can't sack itself (though you wonder if they'd try to). But they can at least screw themselves over. Which is fine.

Anyway. I went and did a sorter. An idol sorter.

Wouldn't have been anything like this even a month ago.

More news on the Kemono Friends front. Apparently, the whole rest of its original staff have walked out. Good on them for turning their back on the backstabbers.

In less exciting news, I've turned my Idolmaster attention to its music. I knew it was already pretty great, and further discovery has provided me with yet more great music. In fact, what further discovery has done is made me realise just how much there is to this series. I keep finding new things all over the place. I should have known, really - this is no small series. And yet there's just so much in front of me I can't help but lap it up more and more.

Burnnnnnned through Classroom of the Elite all the way up to ep 11.

The show takes a while to distinguish the true colours, goals and interesting bits. In the first few episodes, there is no clear-cut goal what the character motifs are as you start the first ep with daily life, the next with a daunting theme of flunking school, and next it's court trial. And you sit there making a contorted face of confusion wondering what the significance is of any of these events that have been highlighted and how it contributes to the overall objective of the show.

Ep 7 (IIRC) has the best cliffhanger so far.

And Koenji. Why does this guy even exist? Why does he even get ANY screen time?

Watching .hack//Legend of the Twilight at the moment

Given the fact I've been hearing .hack is a ferociously dark Role Playing Game series that's got even some TV dramas beat, I could be forgiven for thinking I'd randomly woken up inside Tony Ferguson's mind. Still, so far, despite the weird expectations I've been thinking of, it's actually not too shabby, and it reminds me of a really cool Saturday Morning Cartoon you would watch in the 90's/early 2000's.

I'm tempted to watch Mirai Nikki for some reason. Should I go for it?

Well tomorrow is gonna be the last day of the summer anime season for me since Gamers! will be airing its last EP tomorrow. I hope the last EP will be good enough to convince me to give it a 10.

Well I guess this is the end of the summer anime season. Last EP of Gamers felt like more of an "DLC" episode than a main episode. But still enough to give it a 10.

I guess this means Tsurezure Children takes the title of being the summer anime of the season for me.

Alright next animes to watch: Ika Musume, Chuunibyou Ren, and Dragon Ball.

I enjoyed Mirai Nikki. Not a masterpiece by any means, but it was entertaining.

Speaking of shows that aren't masterpieces by any means... I recently started watching Black Heaven. Pretty dumb so far, but I'm enjoying it for what it is. Besides, how could you not love this:

The three sidekick alien girls are pretty cute too. 👍

Mirai Nikki is one of those shows without a truly likeable MC, but the story is entertaining and mysterious enough to keep you hooked.

You're making me a bit scared. Last time I watched an anime that has an unlikable MC would be School Days. Yes I watched School Days. Oddly enough both animes (Mirai Nikki and School Days) has a well known yandere.

Yeah I know it already that Mirai Nikki is better (even though I haven't watched yet) but seeing as Penguin mentioned an unlikeable MC, it scares me that I may end up hating the MC just like in School Days.

Speaking of that, I had to ask a friend out just to watch School Days and guess what me and him were like mind blown to see the events unfold in SD. The MC was just annoying. In the end I gave it a 6 in MAL.

A 6 is too generous for School Days, IMO... the whole thing is annoyingly stupid, not just the MC :P

I don't recall finding the Mirai Nikki MC too bad, but then again that might be due to my Shinji Ikari-level tolerance. Plus, as attractive as Yuno Gasai might be, it'd be more than a little unnerving to actually have a totally psycho fangirl irl... so you can't really blame the MC for not being thrilled about Miss Yandere

So I started watching the original Dragon Ball and I'm already into 3 EPs and I'm liking it. Has a good mixture of comedy and action and probably a good way to take a rest from all the seriousness that Z, GT, and probably Super has compared to the original.

BTW Kid Goku is just too adorable.

I know how that feels. I still don't have the courage to go watch the second season because I know I'll be getting the feels. The last time an anime that gave me a lot of feels would be Ao Haru Ride.

I think you'll enjoy it nevertheless. Yuno carried the series for me.

Unpopular opinion: original Dragon Ball is best Dragon Ball.
I finally watched Clannad. First season was alright but the second one, I got rammed in the feels by an 18 wheeler.
"In daddy's arms."

And finished.

Honestly, I swore off MMORPG type animes as soon as I saw Sorry Ass Offline (Sword Art Online), and I thought I'd seriously hate this anime, but damn... It's got an X Factor to it that kept me interested. Let me sum it up like this: It nails the three bells as people say. It doesn't instantly strike a chord with me like a Hellsing or Cowboy Bebop would, and it doesn't really have the memorable characters like say Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, but it does enough of the right things and at just the right pace to not be considered a genuine disaster. The other .hack// animes, as well as the video games should be just as intoxicating.

Rating: 7/10

I don't really know how to give my response for this...

And even worrying...

I don't know what happened with Western media start to peek interest for making live action of anime/manga these days. Not sure if it is to get profit (It is also likely they are run out of ideas lol) or perhaps they are actually try to learn make good adaptation from Japanese materials, then that's good. I just hope they get it right. If not, I don't know how rage is animanga community will be. Or we might just don't care about this whole thing and forget it...

It's Hollywood. They have ALOT of skeletons in their closet, and they've got no more ideas.

Since the summer season is over. I wanna know from you guys which is the best and worst anime for the summer season. The worst anime for the anime season would have to be either the smartphone anime or Hajimete no Gal. As for the best anime of the summer season, it's obviously Tsurezure Children for me since it delivered well in the romcom department.

Not sure I qualify for such a question, given that I don't watch that much. I've only seen three shows from this season, one of which (Gamers) I gave up on after two episodes. Tsurezure Children was both sweet and funny, and I definitely want to see a second season, but ultimately, it was just an okay show for me. So that leaves the 2nd season of Konosuba, which, despite a lackluster last story arc (last four episodes), was pretty great.
This show is just too funny. Love the characters (Aqua is best girl!).

As for the live action remakes of anime. I quite liked Ghost in the Shell, even to the point of me thinking it is superior to the original. Sure, the original handles the philosophical themes better, in the sense that the live action movie sadly neglected most of it, but as entertainment, the live action is far superior. Better pacing and action. I am not thrilled about them doing a live action adaptation of Kimi No Na Wa, which has steadily become one of my all time favorite movies, but I'll just ignore the existence of it.
