A second season of Tsurezure Children would make me scream like there's no tomorrow. I'm gonna miss my best couples there.

Speaking of live action anime movies with Kimi no nawa for example, I have a feeling its gonna end up like Dragonball Evolution. Hollywood just want that sweet money.

Looks like I have to watch Mira nikki.

You should find the Chinese versions of DBZ and watch the Video Game Adaptation movies. DOA, Tekken, and KOF were pretty horrible.

As for the live action remakes of anime. I quite liked Ghost in the Shell, even to the point of me thinking it is superior to the original. Sure, the original handles the philosophical themes better, in the sense that the live action movie sadly neglected most of it, but as entertainment, the live action is far superior. Better pacing and action. I am not thrilled about them doing a live action adaptation of Kimi No Na Wa, which has steadily become one of my all time favorite movies, but I'll just ignore the existence of it.

I thought the same with Ghost In The Shell. It might not being perfect adaptation of the manga or hit box office chart (even can't barely make profit tbh) but as an entertainment is fine I guess. I like the visuals aspect which looks pretty, clean and neat. You could say a much more serious effort compared to DB Evolution.

That's what it seems to most of us, but I hope they also did it right and not just messing around. The problem is how they going to adapt the elements of what makes Kimi no Na Wa great.

My opinion if the live action prove to be a success, that's actually quite a benchmark on how Western media finally be able to adapt decent animanga adaptation, because none of them gain positive reviews AFAIK. But, if this turn into disaster, we should forget anything about it.

Or we could just don't care about this and stick to the original materials we know and love.

Oh man. Those Chinese versions were very bad. Even the bad animes were at least better.

And Kanata is still yet to be behind the wheel.

Sent you a friend request on there (I'm Yaywalter)
Accepted your friend request. I saw your anime list and its not bad. How about have a look on my list of anime I've watched?

I see that you watched the first of four Persona 3 movies. Usually the third and fourth movie is where it gets serious. And I also see that ReLIFE and Kimi no nawa are in your plan to watch list. I suggest watch both, They're both good.

And speaking of how I rate my anime, 8-10 is my style of anime rating. 8 means I like it but it didn't hold my interest long. 9 means I like it and it passed my expectations. Also an anime that has a 8-9 has a possible rewatch I may do sometime if I have the time and a possible change in score. 10 means that I love it and exceeded my expectations. Also worthy of me doing a rewatch. There are some animes that I gave like an 7 or 6 because they have something that made me disappointed.

Decent list. Based on how you rate things, I don't take any major issue with any of your scores... though I stand by my opinion of 5 Centimeters Per Second being Makoto Shinkai's best film (with Your Name being a close 2nd).

Since you seem to like romance, I'd recommend His and Her Circumstances. It's a bit old, low budget and sadly derails towards the end thanks to financial struggles, the main director leaving, and disagreements with the manga author... but I still hold it in very high regard, even in spite of those issues.

A bit less romance-focused (though it's usually still present as a theme), the films of Mamoru Hosoda are also worth checking out. Summer Wars is my personal favorite, though The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Wolf Children are very close behind.

Also since you're here at GTPlanet and presumably have some degree of interest in racing, the anime Capeta also deserves a shout out.

I thinking of rewatching 5 Centimeters Per Second since I want to change its score to 10 since the movie really hit me hard since its just too relatable IRL. Plus the theme song was the icing on the feels train for me. :(

Looks like I found me another romance anime to watch then. Thanks for the recommendation.

Just be prepared for a very unsatisfying non-ending. Seriously, the show just basically stops... there's not even a half-assed attempt to haphazardly wrap things up quickly. You might find yourself legitimately thinking you must be missing a handful of episodes, but nope... sadly not.

I've been through that.

You know those animes where it suddenly stops and it like telling you that "Wanna continue the story? Then read the manga."? Well it annoys me because I don't mind reading manga just to continue the story but it would be better if the story was animated but then again I have no choice but to read the manga. That's the case for Tsurezure Children, Nozaki-kun, ReLIFE, etc.

You guys should check this. It's a list of car cameos from animes. Poor Ferrari F40 though.

Also here's the reason one idol is bad

not to defend the voice actor, but when you compile clips of every time someone does something, it will more than likely be perceptively annoying or bad or whatever it is you're trying to make light of.

Ok, I gotta ask one thing...

Is that thing she's holding a cup? It strikes me as being a rather impractical design for such an object...
It's probably just some paper. Or a magazine. Something like that. I'm guessing the cupholder on the chair made you think that. But it's relatively unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

Oh crap fall season of anime has started.

And Just Because! has started has well. The studio who's doing Just Because! is the same guys who made Gamers.

Alright I just finished the first EP and man it feels melancholic. Could this be the anime I've been looking for? I'm already sensing that I may get tears at some point in this anime. But so far so good. BGM is nice, animation has slightly improved over Gamers!, and voice acting is nice.

Finshed watching Black Heaven.

A solid 5/10. Meh/okay overall, not particularly bad or good... or rather, the bad and the good aspects balance out. I mildly enjoyed it though, so it still might be worth checking it out if it interests you.

SVX
It's Sunshine time tomorrow boys.

Still waiting... When it drops this thread will literally turn into hell. An idol hell

Btw, few days ago I already did watch Kimi no Na Wa. Seems like Makoto Shinkai impressed me once more with his magic. So here is my review :

At the beginning audience were already given gorgeous setting and spectacular level of details. My eyes literally pleased on every single scenes I saw. The plot twist was also quite surprising, knowing that turns out the whole Itomori town was vanished due to comet/meteor impact. Then everything goes a bit sci-fi (One scene reminds me to Interstellar, idk why). After Taki know about the truth of Mitsuha existence, this is actually when the story get interesting imo. The plot is building up until the climax reached to the moment where they met for the first time in the top of the mountain (damn the scenery is gorgeous), then Mitsuha begin her plan to save the town and as the result some of them survived (and literally change the fate of entire Itomori people live there). Then the story jumps 5 years after the incident and finally Taki and Mitsuha met again. And it end happily ever after...

My conclusion is that I liked this movie. A unique idea to combined sci-fi tropes (time difference/leap, body switch, nature phenomenon) with elements of romance. All executions are done nicely and neat. The animation were great, especially the ritual dance and in some scenes for example when Mitsuha running out from the forest to get in time for evacuation. I really like the cityscapes being portrayed. You can see even the smallest detail were drawn and it is exquisite to say the least. The whole characters are also likeable. Nice performance from the seiyuus as well. And then, finally we get proper (almost?) happy ending that the couple met again in the future. There is also fascinating explanation about Japanese belief and philosophy about relationship and human bonding, which is cleverly putted and connected to the main plot.

However, I felt that Kimi no Na Wa isn't emotionally deep as 5 Centimeter Per Second, which in my case still being the best Makoto Shinkai's work until now. (Also still get traumatized from that ending...) Kimi no Na Wa in the end is close to second place as my favorite Makoto Shinkai film. Can't wait to see more of his creation in the future.

Last but not least, here is one of my favorite shot taken from the movie :

Fair enough. Actually, what tripped me up was the dark shading in the middle of it, led me to believe that some sort of liquid inside. It's probably a paper, unless it's supposed to be the world's first invisible ink magazine, since it features a whopping zero letters... But anyways, it's meaningless to argue with detail allocation, like you said. The right areas are properly dealt with...

I'm gonna be real honest, the first time I watched the movie it was like the anime movie that brought my interest back for anime after not tuning to it for so long now. But of course the ending had to be a troll. I literally screamed once they met and I was like "KISS DAMMIT!" and once the scene fades away to the sky, I was like "NOOOO DAMMIT! WHERE'S THE KISS? AT LEAST A HUG WOULD DO IT."

But still gotta give props to Shinkai for giving us this movie and bringing back my interest for anime. 5 CM and Your Name are dead close to each other for me. It felt like Shinkai knew that he wanted to give us something happier this time after 5 CM around so they gave us Your Name.

I agree. That is also why I said the ending is "almost" happy because it just quickly being cut. At least we could imagine what happened after they met at the ending scene. Unless 5cm Per Second, which is felt... depressing... but still leave a good impression for the whole part.

However, both were great creation from Makoto Shinkai himself. Never I reckon that his latest creation would hit amazing record on Japanese box office and lots of accolades.

And I agree this would likely bring people getting their interest to anime, because it is such an appealing and likeable movie to most people who watched it. Also it defined the essence on why we fascinated over anime and why we watched them.
