I will say,Yuki Nagato,just that,there is no character that can be as cool as Nagato, doesn't have to go to the moe route,and neither have feelings(well maybe in the banishment but her cuteness makes out for it,and it was a failed aspect of herself)and is really assertive without being pretentious.

As for favourite character... Okazaki Tomoya... Kagami came close... but no cigar for her.

Shounen stuff is generally boring to me...

Seinen: (according to ANN)

Relatively uncommon in the west due to the emphasis on the male teen market, "seinen" is a demographic indicator for anime and manga aimed at a young adult male (college-aged) audience. As such, this kind of anime tends to be much more sophisticated than shounen anime. There are many of the same basic themes/subgenres as shounen but they are more psychological, satirical, violent, sexual, etc. In other words they are intended for a more mature audience.

There is a stronger focus on plot and consequently less focus on action. Characters and their interactions are also often more developped than in shounen anime. Because of this, seinen material is frequently misidentified as shoujo because it isn't very well known outside of Japan and because fans correctly recognize the character development, relationships and romance typical of shoujo. However, seinen anime usually deals with these subjects with a greater realism. Where shoujo will have an idealized love story, seinen will have more grays and uncertainties dealing with the practical give-and-take realities of a relationship.

Overall, seinen anime tends to be more strongly rooted in reality, with many incidental details added to heighten the sense of realism and even fantasy elements being subject to a strong "realistic" logic. Of course, it should be noted that those stylistic guidelines are a generalization of the genre and even an anime that has none of those characteristics can be classified as seinen if that was indeed the target audience. In fact, hentai (not including yaoi) is mostly targeted at the seinen demographic.

It should be noted that many of the works of anime most acclaimed for their depth and maturity (such as Patlabor, Maison Ikkoku and Ghost in the Shell) hail from the seinen genre.

If anyone picked Mari, I would feel bad for them. Sure she's hot, but other than that, she doesn't have a whole lot going for her. And there are a lot of hot anime characters, so that quality alone shouldn't warrant a character being someone's favorite. That is unless they're a kind of person who watches anime only to see pretty girls and for nothing else, which would be pretty pathetic.

That said... Johann twins are two characters, nk4e.

Oh my GOD. Look, make yourself a favor and go read it now. Like RIGHT NOW. Drop the forum and look for it over the net, it isn’t hard to find.

I’ll only say this: It’s the greatest comic I’ve ever read. Notice I didn’t say manga, but comic… sequential art history if you will. The OVA is a small, smaaaaaaaalll scratch in the surface of the world of Gally. The art, the story, the art, the character development, the art, and the art, are amazing, enthralling, and capture you from the very beginning. Really, if you’re gonna listen to me just once in your life, it would be this one.

Read above. Mari will have it’s chance after the third movie has appeared and we see more than 15 minutes of her. She has an extremely big potential to be one of my favorite all-time characters right there with Gally, Fuu Hououjii, Ayanami, the Bebop crew and several others, but time will tell. Still, it will be incredibly difficult that she, or anyone for that matter, poke Gally out of my top.

Here's something I just came up with last night... the avatar style to be exact. What the goal is (for me): Start another avatar trend which looks like:

Have enough people with similar looking avatars, wander off outside of this topic, post like mad, grab attention to this thread, more activity..... profit.
