One second he's a child, next he's an old man... I would have accepted him falling over dead.

One second he's an old man who looks like a child, next he reverts to his actual age.

If you somehow didn't pick up on that fact and thought he was really a little boy, then the fault is with you not paying close enough attention, not the show. Don't be browsing GTPlanet while "watching" Cowboy Bebop, dammit!

So, how about with how something similar happened to a certain character in Howl's Moving Castle.
Remember the Witch of the Waste going from a younger age, to her true age due to a spell?

Well yeah, A SPELL. This is supposed to be reasonably realistic!

If you stop aging for a loonnnggg time and then start again.. I'm fairly sure that time wouldn't catch up with you. I didn't miss the fact, I just acknowledged that he would start aging again, but not the past 43905435 years at once.

There's a good bit of mysticism in Cowboy Bebop, so who's to say that there can't be magic? Your assumptions that it's supposed to be "realistic" are wrong, m'boy.

This is a show about bounty hunters in space, how is it supposed to be realistic?:odd:

It's space-age. Can that not be realistic?

Fair enough, but the idea of aging all at once is still retarded.

Well... I guess he thought it was supposed to be a realistic depiction of what the future might be like, in which case Space Cowboys aren't entirely far-fetched...

But there's definitely spiritual undertones to Cowboy Bebop, so get the idea of it being scientifically realistic out of your head, Loliblade.

Totally not Vandread:

Vagabond, on the other side, is a nrealy unparaleled manga, IMO; it's art is out of this world:
^ Oops! :ouch: :scared:

-> I just woke up 5 minutes before I made that post. :dunce:

~> I might try to watch Vandread soon, since the series qualifies my Ecchi qualifications. :D

Right, my broadband's about to expire. It'll probably be something like 15 hours until I'm online again. :(
^ We will miss you... :(

Beware though, since it's a 2000 anime, there's not all that much fanservice. The entire show there was only ONE panty shot. There was not another at all in the other 25 episodes (Season 1+2.).

However, fanservice isn't what makes it good. It's that story and mecha action, so awesome during season 2, Vandread: The Second Stage.:D

That's, OVER 9,000!!!!!!

Dragon Ball Z, a show about spiky haired guys who get stomach cramps, take 983049830498308 episodes to beat one guy, take 15 minutes to power up with it appearing nothing happened, screaming to get golden hair to become more powerful, where power levels are yelled out, and everyone thinks their scouter is broken.:P

 JEEEEEEZUS!

Hi dudes, I is back from exams, stopped by the anime store... picked up clear coat Tamiya paint and checked up the new stock in figurines....

I saw Yamato's Rei and I can say it's made pretty well.

This one is really nice too... but I REALLY love the box.. it's entirely in transparent plastic so it looks hell sleek.

So if you're ever thinking of getting these, now you need not worry if they look bad because AOS said so.

I also saw Alter's Tsubasa, a Tsukihime, BRS Animation and Dead Master Animation ver... Too bad the boxes came all damaged... I was sure the guy got it from NAVI-TO too.

Oh I also saw that Final Fantasy bike...

It's at least two and a half feet long and got lots of nice details you can look at ;)

Ah, that argument about Bebop reminds me of the distinction between fantasy and science fiction.

Science fiction is constrained to things which could conceivably happen, while fantasy is not. So if Bebop is fantasy, everything is ok. And just because you see space ships doesn't mean you're watching science fiction.

Space ships can so happen IRL.. Make a shuttle in the shape of a pirate boat... DONE

Yeah. What he's saying is that even though Bebop has things that could happen in the future, it doesn't make it science fiction.

Unless you were sarcastically suggesting that pirate boat-shaped space ships are actually impossible IRL, to which I say: BLASPHEMY!

Yeah, I wasn't saying Bebop was Sci-fi, I was just stating it's possible to make space ships.

Oh btw Haganai watchers... dibs on Stella.

Cowboy Bebop has its roots severely based in the 70s, while splashing all that ambience with futuristic stuff and also with a lot of mysticism as Walter said. There are a lot of "spiritual" moments in Cowboy Bebop, and all of them if I recall correctly, are there to make the show more dramatic and charming. Yeah, the guy could have taken 70 years to die. Way to end an episode. Come on, Lol-blade.

I'd say you're looking for the negative things instead of watching the awesome with this show ("bam!"). It's as if you resist to like it.

Or since he just got a goddamn bullet to the skull, he could have fell over dead.. You know.

Go for it!

I have ridiculously high expectations.... I guess you know who's fault that is.. but yes, I am watching and so far I don't really care for it. I'm not just looking for the bad.

But it was a special bullet, which could very well have a good explanation as to why it caused the "kid" to age so rapidly.

Just because they chose not to supply an explanation and leave it mysterious doesn't mean it's "stupid". Giving a stupid explanation is what would make it qualify as "stupid". :P
