Come on, it has everything. And it develops every aspect of it quite further than most anime. Battles in it really feel like they mean something, every main character is dissected to the point you can understand them to their very core. Its something that can only be achieved by having so many episodes I suppose.

Sure, I wouldn't give it a 10/10. As I said it has it's problems, but that doesn't stop it from being really good. Also I'm not very fond of how tame it is. But it is a shounen after all.
Well if you want less tame, try Bleach. It's the bloodiest of the big 3.

Also, it doesn't really have everything. Character development is a big thing in the show (Remember all the backstories we got during the Chunin Exam arc?), but there were many aspects that make me wonder why people think it's extremely good. (Spoilers from around the 130's to where the show is at now.)
The Sasuke thing has dragged on too long, and at this point I hardly care anymore. Naruto, he's NOT going to ever come back at this point. He's become some obsessed with revenge that he's beyond the point of no return.

At this point, I could care less what happens to Sasuke. If he ends up dying, I'll probably be like "Oh, so he's dead now? Meh.".
Overall for me, first season is an 8/10, and Naruto Shippuden was a 9/10 for me, until the filler started to drag down the quality.

Anyway watched Haganai 6-9. As I said before, if FUNimation releases this (If streaming numbers are good enough.), this will probably be one of the most infamous anime releases ever, alongside the 2005 ADV Films release of Elfen Lied. Maria running out naked for no good reason was pretty hilarious.

Anyway I'm off to rewatch Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal. After that, I'll try the first two episodes of Clannad.

Waited weeks for Clannad to arrive in the mail... says he'll "try" it...

Kid, just watch the damn show! You already paid for it... The seller and mailman went through the trouble of giving you a copy to watch, not try.

Fuko route's going to kill it for him...

his loss though, After Story is amazing.

Not my problem.

Yeah, was. Until I saw how it looks and how long it is and how feeling-charged everything in the damn show is.

I don't know if I'll be able to take it.

It's not that it's feeling-charged, it's that it's lame-charged.

ok, lets try to make this happen.

Everyone more or less know me already and knows what I like and what I don't. Everyone in here this minute try to convince me why I should watch Clannad and why I shouldn't. Be sincere.

Nope, he's cool. If you're watching subs, do you recognize his voice from other animes? See how many you can name!

I am watching subs, but I watch pretty much everything else dubbed, so there's no way in hell I could recognize him from other anime.

And I don't care if he's cool, HE MUST DIE DAMMIT.

How can a starfish be lame?

Edit:

and at the risk of spoiling, you only think so now (about Roy). Also, subs > dubs 99% of the time. Maybe you're right on this one, but I wouldn't know, because I never watch dubs due to my first painful experiences with them.

And so, since you won't know, seiyu for Mustang is same as for Takumi fujiwara, Urahara Kisuke, Kurz Weber, Lockon Stratos, and Blackbird's driver in WM, to name a few that I recognize, and about 300 more besides.

Well, I can't say anything about the supposedly amazing After Story, but the first season of Clannad is just so... meh. A couple funny/cute gags, repeated ad nauseam. And characters are mostly hollow and uninteresting, which is fatal in a story that's all about the characters.

Disagree about subs > dubs. IMO subs > dubs roughly 50% of the time...

Regarding Roy:
I don't care if he's a badass later on, he killed Maria Ross! Inexcusable! Worse than Moeka! Even if he genuinely thought that she was guilty of killing Hughes! :P

Dangos are lame, but the song isn't.

Try to enjoy its humour for the first season..Tomoya's pranks are great, especially the ones involving Fuko. get past that and then you're on the road to a better show.

Wait hold on a sec, JamesJimJimmy.. did you watch the sub?

The sub of Clannad? Yes.

It has a good story, time loops and character relationship build up.

Keep on watching.

Also, you usually watch dubs... but when it comes to a show with an awesome dub, you watch the sub? wtf?

Argument for Clannad: It's not that long, the animation is good, it has characters you will begin to care about, some of the ideas in it will surprise you, and once you watch it you get to watch afterstory, which unless you're severely dehydrated will make you cry. And then smile.

It's really a simple concept, but the best stories are. But simple is also the most challenging, since you can't dress it up with action and sex. If you get it wrong, it's painfully obvious. Clannad isn't the best show you'll ever watch, but it's one you'll remember and be glad you took the time for.

Watching FMA:B subbed wasn't a conscientous decision on my part, it's just what I happen to have available at this time. :P

Cano, just play the game!
While both of Key's first two previous works, Kanon and Air, had been released first as adult games and then censored for the younger market, Key's third work Clannad was released for all ages and does not contain risqué situations or even any fan service. On November 25, 2005, Key released an adult spin-off entitled Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life which expands the scenario of Tomoyo Sakagami, one of the five heroines from Clannad.
