5 left, I think it might sell out before I got to sleep in like 40 minutes.

I still need to give the show a shot. This isn't too big of a deal as luckily there's still the FUNimation DVD's. It's not limited edition only like Oreimo was.

EDIT: It's a good day to be bored, I was digging posts way back until I discovered that the pic above was a repost. From over 1000 pages ago.

BEHOLD! MAZINGER Z!!

1249742488922.jpg

Here we see Mazinger punching what appears to be Getter Robo into the ground! Two mighty robots doing battle, what could be better than that?

Here we have a screenshot of one of the lovely but deadly Gamia androids! That's not oil on her twintails!

While the Mazinger series is cool, awesome and fun, it certainly doesn't take itself completely seriously, as can be seen from some of the situations they get themselves in, and some of the characters themselves:
ClkKX.gif

Like the Gundam series, Mazinger has been around for a very long time, and has proven itself as both influential and popular. Here we see a shop in Japan made to look like Mazinger Z is peeking in!
1235344303650.jpg

Like Gundam, Mazinger Z has had its share of spinoffs and new series, though not quite as many as Gundam . Mazinger's most recent iteration is called "Shin Mazinger! Z-Hen: On Television" ("New Mazinger Impact! Z Chapter: On Television"), aired in 2009 and was directed by Imagawa, who also directed the fantastic G Gundam and Giant Robo shows.

👍

WOW WOW WOOW!!! Wonderful! AyJay, do you know exactly where this shop is in Japan?

Hey, his first GTP post is in the TGAT... welcome him aboard! But he does remind me.. what happened to AyJay? Been a while...

So many 9's better than it. Let's name some shall we.:P
Sekirei, Sekirei: Pure Engagement, Gosick, Excel Saga, Soul Eater, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Durarara!! (Awesome show BTW. Disappointed in how few of people here have seen it, or talked about it ever.:grumpy:), InuYasha, InuYasha: The Final Act, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, Tegami Bachi, and Tegami Bachi: Reverse.

Well all I'm saying is that with so many "better" 9's, maybe Steins;Gate should be scored lower rather than being given a "weak" 9? It's not as if 1-6 = awful, 7-8 = meh, 9 = good and 10 = truly great... don't be afraid to use the whole range of numbers. :P

To further expound: Scoring is meant to distinguish different levels of quality. So if you're lightly giving shows that you believe to be of different quality the same scores, then it kinda defeats the purpose of scoring, no? Obviously with a limited 1-10 range you're inevitably gonna have to score shows the same even if you think one's slightly better than the other. But that's why you've especially gotta utilize the whole 1-10 range to reduce the variance in quality for any given score value, instead of just giving only 9's and 10's to the shows you liked. Scoring all the good shows 9 or 10 results in having a lot of good shows of varying degrees having the same score, and an excessive amount of scores which can only be used to express a useless amount of variance in how much you dislike a show.

5 is the median, which means it should be considered to be not particularly good but not really bad either. Anything above 5 is respectable, as they are varying degrees of "good".

I scored Steins;Gate a very respectable 7/10. Some other shows that I scored 7/10:
Bakuman, Eden of the East, Darker Than Black, Full Metal Panic, Elfen Lied, Great Teacher Onizuka, Gantz, Beck, Outlaw Star and Trigun.

I'm a few minutes into a movie called Hoshi wo Ou Kodomo and I just want to say that it looks beautiful.

Wha?! Where??? DO WANT. For those who didn't know, Hoshi wo Ou Kodomo is the latest work by Matoko Shinkai, the man behind 5 Centimeters Per Second. Like Sephy mentioned, it does appear to be very Miyazaki-esque... so if you liked any of either Makoto's or Miyazaki's works (and who doesn't?), definitely check it out:

And if you haven't seen any of Makoto Shinkai's earlier works, 5cm especially, then shame on you. :grumpy:

Oh wait, that was Tierylord who watched it. Confusing you two since 3 months ago, my bad!

Sephy is not amused.

The 2 who talk to me to openly and get along like no others...

I have one on a leash and the other who tries to sneak into my bed at which point I put him on a table and flip him back to wherever Wisconsin is. :P

Wisconsin?

It's spreading like a virus. Everything is red, and powerful now.

Of course, it's all the better for all of us. :)

We're all starting to match Asuka's plug suit. :3

Managed to convince myself not to get that dude's Nendo Petites.

Good. They look terrible and scale figures > stupid Nendos.

And despite what his avatar tries to prove, slightly well I will say, she isn't pretty. No sir.

You're weird.

Long gone. De-Jay was gone even sooner.

Wisconsin?
It's a state in your country. You know....

Would you rather get sent to Wyoming? Washington? New Wexico?

Sephloke
Good. They look terrible and scale figures > stupid Nendos.
I'm going to pull a James Jim Jimmy and say that Nendos > Asuka.

Besides which, judging from what I've heard, her actions are funny enough anyway.

Indeed.

I was just wondering why you picked Wisconsin lol. How about I land back home?

I'm going to pull a James Jim Jimmy and say that Nendos > Asuka.

If I put you back home, you'd know how to get back to my place.

Episode 23: Holy 🤬, Kyouma was the one who killed Kurisu. Also, where have I heard that stabbing sound? Oh right, from Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal.

Episode 24: I knew it was possible to prevent her death!:idea:You just got to try really hard. He could have tried harder when trying to save Mayuri all those times. If he didn't fail every time, I wouldn't have been trolled so much.:grumpy:
Be grateful that Okarin is not Shinji.
"Yeah, otherwise he would've messed his pants when he interrupted those two girls while they were showering."
This still looks boss. Hitokiri Bottosai (AKA Kenshin Himura).

You do realise that the share price also dropped slightly a few minutes later? :P Don't you understand economics?
"Yeah, you're one to judge, being a citizen of that bankrupt little rock."
*snaps fingers, waits a few seconds* "Hang on, why hasn't Mari chloroformed you yet?"
"I gave her a taste of her own medicine."

Penultimate day of my term. Then I'm free with you guys! Yay! :D
Gendodammit, I've another 8 days to wait. :grumpy:
Don't be dissin', she even gave me second thoughts on banging Yoko.
Whoa, what?
*notices uMadson?'s red username* Can I have some Premium goodness, too? :D
You're weird.
It is a prerequisite to being a TGAT poster.

Well you're in luck, found out from the thread at the Fandom Post that these places still have it, a little more expensive than Rightstuf's price of $55 (It sold out.), but it's still reasonable.

:tup:That remains epic. Also (After fight spoilers-didn't watch full vid.:P)...
I seriously thought Kenshin ended up killing Hiko.

Bakuman, Eden of the East, Darker Than Black, Full Metal Panic, Elfen Lied, Great Teacher Onizuka, Gantz, Beck, Outlaw Star and Trigun.
While many shows I think are of the same score quality, I'll always like one thing in there more than another. I don't like using the decimal system like GameSpot did at one time with video game reviews. I don't like using the 0.5 system either (At Anime-Planet, I just divide my MAL scores by 2, so like 7 becomes 3.5. That's it.).

5's tend to be either barely liked it, or ended up disliking it, 6's are kinda meh, some 7's can be kinda meh (Like A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives), but usually are good, 8 is pretty good, 9 is great or excellent, and 10 is a masterpiece.

Everyone's scoring system is different. If I actually went into depth like a professional reviewer (Or in this case, a big time anime critic.), and had the overall score be a mean score, things would be different as if you give a single section lower than a 10/10 (Ex: Story, art, music.), that 10/10 is no longer possible.

When I give a show an overall score, it's based off of how good I thought it was, and the entertainment factor is one part of that. Steins;Gate's final two episodes were definitely entertaining (Though I'm still not seeing where 🤬 got real. Where did it happen? Oh wait, it didn't have 🤬 get real at all.), and that's one thing that helped.

With Bleach for example, even with all the many, many, many flaws (Lack of backgrounds, lack of backstory, lack of explanations (There are too little of them and the mystery loses it's effect as you stop caring since he fails to explain practically ANYTHING.) too many chapters covered per episode as Tite Kubo fails to use enough dialogue, and smaller panels.), it's still a 9/10 show in my eyes. I'm able to forgive or overlook many things as the show still remains to be excellent in my eyes, though this current Fullbringer arc in Japan is lowering the quality for me.

Hey Loli, we heard you like Steins;Gate, so we put Steins;Gate in Steins;Gate so you can watch Steins;Gate while you watch Steins;Gate.:sly:

(I could see him wanting to watch it while watching it.)
