BTW, such great cover art from FUNimation for the series.

Agreed. 👍

Did a good job on the discs themselves too.

Damn Madoka Magi has balls. Some pretty huge fu***** balls. It's good to see they still make shows like that. And I still have 4 episodes to go.

I love it's style. So artistic, incredibly well directed. The animation is really something else, it doesn't cease to impress me.

On a more lighthearted note, turns out Kyouko is a softie deep down. It's ok, I was expecting that... still love her :3

Well 2011 has been the year pretty much where quality has started to increase dramatically. There are many shows that came out this year that have landed in MAL's top 50 anime.

2011 is a big improvement over 2010, and with how anime sales in Japan went up, there is hope we'll see more than just a ton of moeblob shows.

Speaking of Madoka, there be sum Bokurano homage in it:

I guess it's the least they could do, considering a lot of ideas in Madoka are veeeeeery similar to Bokurano... *cough*stolen*cough*

I also now see where the Dung Beetle pic in my avatar came from:

And I'm off, going to eat Supper, then watch the Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan: Demon Capital finale.

So anyone going to be asking for, or getting anime for Christmas?

I'm a digital person 👍 (no disc media). But I will be (or at least try) getting some gundam model kits. A good $200 will get me 4 MGs.

Puella Magi is awesome, glad you see what the hype is about now 👍

The Nura: Rise of the Yokai: Demon Capital (Nurarihyon no Mago: Sennen Makyou) finale was epic, 10/10. The second season just blew the entire first season out of the water so much, and I can't wait for the third season.

Too bad that probably will be a while as apparently there are these arcs, and the anime has covered up to the end of the Kyoto arc. So they'll probably have to wait a while for the manga to get much further (As unlike with what happens with the big 3, they just so far have done a 24 episode adaption every Summer, instead of it airing every week, so this means no filler.), so next Summer I probably won't see season 3 premiering. Maybe in 2013 season 3 will happen.

The arcs:
-Gyuki Arc
-Shikoku Arc (First season ended by finishing this arc.)
-Past Arc
-Tono Arc
-Kyoto Arc (The second season finished covering all of this.)
-Hundred Tales Clan Arc (Where the manga in Japan is at in Weekly Shonen Jump.)

All that's left is the final recap episode for season 2 next Sunday, and those aren't exactly great, but I'll still be watching it anyway.

I really hope streaming numbers were good enough for VIZ Media to consider releasing the show on DVD/BD. Tiger & Bunny got that honor a few months ago, it will be coming out sometime next year IIRC.

On a side-note, still have yet to pick up volumes 5 and 6 of the manga. I need to get back to getting manga again. Haven't picked anything up since early September.

I like how you've been giving every show you've seen recently 10/10. Glad to know that there's that many perfect anime out there...

I like how he just posts information without actually interacting with people in the thread, or assuming we need links to Amazon all the time...

I've been seeing much better anime recently. The 10/10 streak is ending however. Only possibility left is Honey and Clover II which I'll be finishing up this week, after that, nothing.

Also then there's Grave of the Fireflies if I ever pick that up when Sentai releases it in March after it's been off the market for a while.

Quit ganging up on him guys. We already had a long discussion of personal rating preferences, so your reply Loli was just a personal attack and not really forum appropriate.

And Azure, you seem like a Troll. Did you read the last page? Lots of interaction between Corvette and other forum members. Heck, you yourself even responded to his open question about if we're getting any anime for Christmas.

And I for one appreciated his last post and will look into watching the stream of The Nura. Edit: yup, ANN users give the first season 7.6/10 for 557/3827 while the 2nd season is coming in at 8.19/10 for 164th place, pretty good. And more than 1 in 5 users also gave it a 10/10.

Unfortunately the first half of Nura is tough for many people to go through. It's pretty slow, doesn't have a lot to it, though once you get past that, the 88 Demons of Shikoku arc is where Nura finally starts to get real good.

Season 2 starts off pretty good, though that second half where you're in the Kyoto arc, that was just so good (And that's probably why when that was covered in the manga, it became the 9th best-selling manga of 2010.). What's with Kyoto being a great place for arcs? That's where Rurouni Kenshin got a lot of critical acclaim, from the Kyoto arc of season 2.

BTW Jeff, you can watch it here.

What they label as episode 13, and episode 26 for both season 1 and season 2 (The second recap is going to be added next Sunday.) are recap episodes, just to let you know. They aren't really necessary, and are kinda meh.

It wasn't a personal attack, I was pointing out how he's been throwing 10/10 around a tad too loosely, which bothered me. Of course I haven't seen those shows, so what do I know?

But it wasn't an attack by any means. Trust me, I know when I'm attacking him :P

You really don't miss one single opportunity do you?

I try my best, but I'm sure a couple have slipped by.

That being said, Madoka is very good. But as I've argued before, it's not as original as some people think it is.

Yup, nothing wrong with criticizing sloppy scoring. 👍

Yeah, you haven't seen them Loli, but many rank pretty high. These are the 10's I've given out since August.

http://myanimelist.net/anime/401/Rurouni_Kenshin:_Seisouhen (Rank 275)

(This may become a 10/10 once I finish it this week.)V

up, nothing wrong with criticizing sloppy scoring. 👍

A show's rank is pretty meaningless, FYI. Steins;Gate is ranked at least 47 places higher than it ought to be.

Don't you mean it should be in the top 150, not top 5, 10, 25, 50, or 100?:sly:

Not sure exactly where it should fall on the list, but when I can think of many better shows, and take into consideration the countless number of shows I haven't seen of which some are bound to be better than S;G, there's no way it belongs at 3rd.

Magi may not be original as people say, but that doesn't mean it wasn't done extremely well.

I acknowledge that... hence the part where I said it was "very good". :P

And Azure, you seem like a Troll. Did you read the last page? Lots of interaction between Corvette and other forum members. Heck, you yourself even responded to his open question about if we're getting any anime for Christmas.

Yup, I did. Wanted to see what others would do. Social experiments and all.

But the vast majority of his posts tend to go ignored, and he will post regularly on a top that isn't related to what the rest of the members are talking about, then they will continue, and he'll add in something else unrelated. It reminds me very much of the awkward kid trying to jump into the conversation with random facts.

I also have been keeping track of this thread for a lot longer than... go see when I first posted in here and get back to me on that. Also, saying I'm a troll (no need to capitalize that) tells me you must be new around here.

Well I was going to keep my mouth shut but... it does look like he's looking for a flamewar. Luckily TC is being the bigger man here.

Nope, not flame baiting. I can do that, it would be way to easy to do with him, based on how he reacts. And then combined with his tendency to argue in a manner that is self defeating, I wouldn't even have to do anything after baiting. I've had an interesting conversation with him regarding fansubs and the "decline" in the industry, and honestly arguing with him isn't worth my time because he doesn't really... get it.
