Christmas exams starting today...:grumpy:
"Sucker. If you don't get at least a B in German, no business time for you!"
I was doing an essay on Hamlet, and his delays reminded me of everyone's favourite baka-hentai...

*flicks the back of my head* "Enjoy going blind..."

Code:
Who is Santa Claus? What does he do?
When is Jebus born? What time exactly? (round to the nearest microsecond)
Who is Jebus anyway?
What relation does Jebus have with Santa? Do they have an affair?
Where does Santa get his presents from?

I feel sorry for you guys. Never heard of people having exams right before or after Christmas

Anyway, Madoka 9:
Kyouko! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Not sure why she had to sacrifice herself. It didn't look like Sayaka was so strong that Kyouko would need to "release her ultimate", so to speak. I suppose she lost her will to live after realizing she was just a puppet and the hopeless situation she found herself in. I can see how that can be too much to bear but still, she was weak. I wouldn't be surprised with her death, but a suicide I wasn't expecting. Don't you realize Homura is trying to fix things you stupid girl? Help her instead of giving up!

Speaking of Christmas, that Eva fanfic that I was planning has been canned. Apparently someone's already done Gendo as Scrooge...:ouch:

Hurry and watch episode 10!

I did:
Damn this is some crazy s***. That's a twist I didn't see coming at all. Aliens, entropy, energy... lolwut?

Anyway it all comes down to Homura and her search for a way out, much like Okabe. The only question left is whether her search is hopeless or not.

I suppose I'll have to finish this today. Already halfway through episode 11

Another NGE re-dubbing. Not posting it here, though, due to AUP-violating language. *sips Asuka's Red Bull* "Does this bug you?" *another sip" "Does this bu-"
*slaps me in the face*

Watched Blue Submarine No. 6 last night. 7/10

Had a pretty badass ending, but overall the story was a bit weak... it felt rushed. If it were a few episodes longer so it could be fleshed out a bit better, it might've been an 8.

Also... the 3D animation sucks. To be expected, as it's over 10 years old now, but still... part of me wishes it was just all 2D. The 2D stuff looked fantastic. If they made it nowadays, they could probably pull the 3D off. But back then, just... no.

The music was great for the most part, although some of the music felt out of place during battle sequences. The ED was pretty delicious:

Now that I'm finished with Blue Sub, next up is Clannad After Story...

Oh, I also watched episode 1 of Gundam Ball G last night. My reaction:

Man, this is how a great story is done. No compromises. Kept it's serious stance to the very end. And what an end. Impressive like very few can manage.

I'm not fond of how most of the characters end up serving a small purpose to the story but I suppose that can't be helped. Even so, there isn't a single thing I would change about it. It's funny how nearly all shows always have something I feel could be better but this one is solid through and through. There just isn't anything lacking.

I do wonder why did the author decide to use children and the whole magical shoujo setting. The underlying idea seems like the sort that would fit better in a more mature scenario but well, that would make it another show entirely I guess.

It can hold itself beside the best shows I've ever seen. It does what it promises flawlessly. It deserves a 10/10, even more so than some of the shows I've given a 10 to.

Easy: making the show seem cutesy at first glance is a cheap way to make it "shocking" when you watch and find out it isn't. :P

Besides, if it weren't cute magical girls, it would be closer to being a Bokurano ripoff entirely. A show which I strongly recommmend checking out, especially since you loved Madoka. 👍

^ Oh baby...
"Is that another part of that song?" :odd:
"Why don't you check?" :sly: *plays "It's Gendo"*
"Aaa-aah..."

Weird post incoming!!!

Question, anyone going to try to get Madoka Magica when it comes out? The DVD, BD, and DVD/BD LE combo pack hit select retailers (Basically online ones.) on February 14, that's for single 1. Single 2 is out April 10th, and the final single, single 3 is out June 12. Those waiting for a box set will be waiting an incredibly long time as knowing Aniplex USA, a box set probably will never come out. Your only box set will be the Japanese one that will be several hundred dollars.

Don't know when I'll try getting it seeing as how Fate/Zero is coming out in March, and it will most likely sell out before it's release, just like Garden of Sinners did.

Here's a little thing I wanted to bring up, anyone ever heard lines in anime get repeated that are so annoying? These two come to mind.
"Dear Prince, I hope this finds you well."-Shattered Angels
"I love you Taito."-A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives

Forgot to comment on this Loli, but with the 10/10 thing, a 10 to me doesn't mean an anime is perfect. There is not a single anime that is perfect, and there never will be.

Depending on how much they cost. Really, I don't think the show's worth more than $50 total (for BD, that is), but I can't see the singles being less than $20, even for DVD. I'll hold out to see if they ever release an affordable boxset. If not, then they can enjoy not getting my moneys.

There is not a single anime that is perfect, and there never will be.

Except for Neon Genesis Evangelion. And Samurai Pizza Cats.

Well the BD singles are $40 each, the DVD singles $30 each, and the BD/DVD LE combo pack singles being $75 each.

So if you go with DVD, it's $90, the BD is $120, and the BD/DVD LE combo pack singles are $225 total.

Personally I think the price Aniplex USA is giving out is reasonable, especially since they know how well it'll sell for them. The day Madoka got solicited, bam, the DVD/BD LE combo pack on Rightstuf was shown in the box for "Last week's top sellers!" as being the best-selling BD for that week.

BTW here's an interesting quote from the ANN forums that brings up a good point when it comes to anime in America. This was a response on the thread for the $370 Fate/Zero BD import being announced back early this month.

Reasonable =/= How well it'll sell.

It's reasonable for Aniplex USA perhaps, but I'm not gonna pay that (imo) absurd price just because they know it'll sell.

I care about the anime industry, but I'm not gonna support overpricing things.
