Oh how the recommendation thing will turn out for ARM. I'd be forced to give out more 10/10's to shows I think aren't 10/10 material since each of the sections on the recommend list take up 1/5, or 20%. MALGraph is currently down for me, so I don't know what my distribution is like right now, but last night, it said for my 10/10's, it takes up 7% of my ratings. My ratings are dominated by 9/10's, 8/10's, and 7/10's (Just like for video games.).

You realize video game ratings are dominated by those figures because of pressure from site sponsors?

Also, your logic is terrible - if you didn't skew your ratings so heavily to the positive (for no real reason) then you'd have no issue anyhow...

LainWalter, do you know much HTML or CSS?

Actually, I've decided that instead of percentages of the list corresponding to scores out of 10, they're going to be given a fractional value based on the number of items in your list.

Only have 1 item on your Recommended list, it's score is 1/1.

If you have 2 items on your list, then the 2nd item's score is 1/2 and the first is 2/2.

And for the Not Recommended list, all the scores would be negative.

So essentially, the only item to receive a perfect value for a score is the item at the very top of your list.

Ah, here we go for MALGraph.

I know a fair bit of HTML, though it's been a while.

CSS, notsomuch. I learned CSS in the webmastering class I took in high school, but I don't really remember it. :P

Ah, I see. I might be able to help you a bit out then, as I recently took an HTML5 and CSS3 class. Some of it is still floating around and I need to start coding that stuff again anyhow, since I picked up a domain for my photo stuff eventually.

That Banpai Akira guy has some wicked art. Was able to find a better version of that pic but it's unfortunately a scan, so it's still kinda meh, not wallpaper worthy.

I'm no frequent to this thread (or anime at all) but I've got a couple of questions and I'd be very thankful if you guys could help me out.

Recently I saw in the campus a couple of guys selling (pirate) Anime DVDs. I remembered I've heard from it a couple of times and decided to give it a shot (a $2 DVD isn't much either). I began buying the first stage and next thing I asked for was Second and Third stage. In short: I loved it. Laugh, Tears, Eurobeat music, nerdy comments about the ATTESA-ETS RB26DETT, it has everything I love!!!

I loved it so much I can't live having this amazing story in cheap-pirate-DVD format. I want to buy it legally, keep it, and watch it in a better quality time after time. I want S. Shigeno to receive money from me. So I looked for it at amazon and found some versione called S.A.V.E, which go for around $17 each. There's one for first stage, one with second and third stage, and a last one with the fourth stage. My questions are regarding this S.A.V.E versions.

Does anybody know what else is left to get in order to own the complete Initial D storyline? I've heard there are a couple of "Extra Stages", does this S.A.V.E versions include them? I also saw somewhere that the english dub loses some of the original musica, do this versions have the option to listen to the original dub (with the original music) and watch with subtitles?

Thanks in advance! :)

Yet, there it is on your list. :P

Only because I've seen all the rest...

All the music and sound effects should be intact for the dub version. It should also include the original dialogue track that you can view with subtitles.

The English dub of Initial D, at least First Stage, has a different sound track then the Japanese version. It was apparently to make it more hip or something.

That was only for the Tokyo Pop version. FUNimation kept the names and music for all stages.

My wife wants me to watch Elfen Lied. I cannot say no since I practically forced Madoka on her.

Is this any good? I only know that I'll get spilled with blood every 5 seconds.

It's pretty good, but a bit wasted in the story department. Really good for gore and backstory.

DO IT! Elfen Lied is pretty badass. :D

The main plot is kinda lame and unsatisfying, but at least it doesn't continue on and end up completely derailing like the manga. :P

But there are worthwhile story elements, in addition to the awesome gore and titfest.

As far as I'm concerned Elfen Lied is a masterpiece on gore, violence and brutality. It's ruthless like no other. Was quite an experience, though admittedly, now that I've watched a lot more anime I would probably find it less impressive.

The plot is convoluted and a bit disappointing, but it works well to increase the ruthlessness and shock factor, which is really what this anime is all about.

Definitely recommend it.
