I'm at a loss for words...that are acceptable on GTPPM Trudeau has informed us that we like to say "peoplekind", not "mankind".
In response, the province of Manitoba has been renamed.
#peoplekind is full of some gems right now![]()
Human is just as problematic as mankind.I always thought "humankind" would be a better word. Still, it's not something that would trigger me the same way it seems to have done for our PM.
Human is just as problematic as mankind.
Peoplekind
Hupeople
Wopeople
Even "person" is an issue, since it contains the word son, and that's exclusionary.

What I want to know is, can I still call my son, my son? I can't follow all this pc/sjw nonsense so just give me the basics!Human is just as problematic as mankind.

I think...I think calling your son, "son", is still ok.What I want to know is, can I still call my son, my son? I can't follow all this pc/sjw nonsense so just give me the basics!![]()
The words "mountain" and "molehill" come to mind. But hey, don't let me spoil your outrage.

I believe he's saying he's making a mountain out of a molehill but I could be wrong. Are you talking here or just in general? Because I’m fairly certain none of us here are serious about this.
Whether or not the woman asking the question agrees with to term "peoplekind" or not is irrelevant. The words "mountain" and "molehill" come to mind. But hey, don't let me spoil your outrage.
Isn't that the point of electing a PM? to pick the one person that speaks for everyone?Whether or not the woman asking the question agrees with to term "peoplekind" or not is irrelevant.
The Primeminister of Canada informed everyone's watching that townhall meeting that, "WE like to say peoplekind," as though he's speaking for anyone other than himself. Furthermore, peoplekind isn't even a word, a quick Google search can tell you that So, he's saying WE have decided that WE like to use a word that doesn't exist.
It's not a serious issue, it's something funny to laugh about, but it's also just interesting to observe.
Sure, on things we've voted and agreed on. I missed the meeting/memo where we decided we prefer to use the term "peoplekind".Isn't that the point of electing a PM? to pick the one person that speaks for everyone?
And it just so happens that Trudeau was having a laugh about it too...not that you could tell from that 21-second clip that hoped to reach Cathy Newman-vs-Jordan Peterson-esque levels of reductio ad absurdum.Whether or not the woman asking the question agrees with to term "peoplekind" or not is irrelevant.

Ok...so Trudeau had a laugh, and now I'm having a laugh....what's the issue? I don't know, to me, if you can't laugh at Manitoba being called Peopletoba, then we have very different senses of humour. And it just so happens that Trudeau was having a laugh about it too...not that you could tell from that 21-second clip that hoped to reach Cathy Newman-vs-Jordan Peterson-esque levels of reductio ad absurdum.
Agree, I won't ever deny context is important.I just figured that clip was missing a bit of context, that's all.
