Something is wrong with the wheels in this picture...

The spokes are not all equally blurred... if anything the bottom half should be not blurred while the top half was blurred because while the car moves forward the bottom half are moving backwards essentially partially cancelling out the motion blur they would normally get...

Either way I don't understand why the front wheels and back would blur diffrent and why which halves of the wheels are blurred as they are...

I agree that they are not properly motion blurred, but if the photographer was panning the camera with the car, the circumference of the wheel would be evenly blurred. If the car is in crisp focus, the background is a blurred, at any decent speed the wheels would be a translucent blur.

damage...just tuned it a little bit.

Looks good. :)

I did a quickie on this picture in between jobs that actually pay me lol.

Wasn't really going for much of an effect but to bring it up a little and make it seem a bit more realistic.

I hope to do a lot more of this kinda thing once I get my hands on Photo Mode :)

Nice job JDM, it is much more believable. The darks were just way too dark in the original. I had thought about doing some stuff with Photomode as well. Might have a go at a few of these tonight too.

Alright I got a few screenshots that I think I can work with. Here's the first. Original posted first, my edit second:

I´m not going ruin everybody's fun but all these edits make the photos look less real in my book.

Unlike other games, GT5 has a very realistic lighting and look with no bloom or anything like that.. I don't see the point in adding that in with Photoshop really.

Some of those images at the top are good, some aren't. The first pic of the Corvette would be better if it had a proper shadow and occlusion under the car.

It all depends who you ask. To me, GT5 does not have super realistic lighting and color. The colors are too saturated for one, and the shadows aren't the best. There's also no occlusion under the cars (where light naturally doesn't collect, think of it as a soft shadow), partly because it's not an easy thing to do in games. GT5 pushes the bar up for visuals, but it's not realistic.

Yeah.. I find most of the pictures hard to do much with. Colour-wise, GT5's "raw" output is over-saturated, and tonally a lot of info already being clipped in highlights and shadows. Personally I find GT's HDR effects really ugly. Why build the limitations of a crappy camera into a game?

I thought I'd have a go at doing night racing and weather effects on the 'ring.

What I started with:

Rain:

Night:

I'm really pleased with the night racing one, but not so much the rain... couldn't get all of the effects right :S

Both look pretty good, except your rain is pretty heavy. Also bring the opacity of the rain down to less than half. I find it looks more realistic that way, because water is mostly transparent anyway. The night one looks nice. Maybe a hint of the moon as a highlight in the drivers door?

Also, we should keep this thread active for those that really like to photoshop stuff, not just clicking a filter and saying GO! Let's see more quality work! I'll probably do a few more tomorrow.

EDIT: One other note about the rain one. Make the background more gloomy and gray too. The hill on the left and the far background should have a damp gray tone to them from the rain.

some more...

and this one..not a big deal, but... i´m amazed by the level of detail that premium cars have.
