Ps4
Race 1 Watkins Glen endurance championship.
Car Rwd lmp2

After cycling through the camera settings during the second practice I lost my cockpit view and helmet cam view . Basically they were black screens , the chase cam and bumper cam still worked fine . I had to restarts my Ps4 which solved the issue .

PS4,
Online race,
70 laps of Watkins Glen,
Went to make my second pit stop of the race, selected my pit stop save, adjusted the fuel from full to 57 liters, the game put 53 liters in and after the service it wouldn't let me rejoin the race,

This was a multiclass race with LMP2, GT1 and GT4 cars, this occurred in lap 50 of 70 for me in GT4, it also happened to an LMP2 driver also on his lap 50 of 70,

Bet that was pretty annoying. Borderline laughable in fact. I wonder if any if the dev team ever ran that many laps in a single race online to see if bugs appeared?

My understanding is the game was built only for PC then adapted, considering their budget I'm surprised at how few bugs there really are in the grand scheme of it all,

Le Mans 24 / LMP1 on PS4.
Scaled to something like 5hrs (forgot the exact duration).
Lap 2: missed my braking point at the Mulsanne chicane and drove over the grass: got a warning for cutting corner, though I lost 4 places, but OK, I can live with it.
No more mistakes, apart from one off track where I lost the laptime, still OK.
Last hour, leading by over 1 lap, AI backmarker pushes me wide into the grass at the Porsche corners. I get DISQUALIFIED !!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:
Race over, zero points in the championship...
Come on, be serious...

You should raise an appeal to the race stewards.

Just encountered my first bug on PC (started playing at Patch 2.0).

The rear view mirror and lap times don't display despite showing up in the Edit HUD pause menu. Will try running at a lower resolution to see whether this makes a difference.

PS4
Donington Park GP and National are missing landmark bridges.
The bridge with the clock just after Old Hairpin.
And the Dunlop bridge 3/4 the way down Starkey's Straight. I think Dunlop was removed in 1987.
Perhaps SMS will create a retro version of several tracks (Hockenheim) like GT did with Brands Hatch.

An old school Hockenheim would be special.

Old (Pre 2003 ) Hockenheim is coming in DLC . As is classic Spa . You should see the old Spa on YouTube . Emagherd . Pure epic .

I haven't seen the bridges either . My new bugs are -

Replay bug at nordschleife - Trackside camera glitches in a quick replay and the view changes to a floating helmet cam view that pans far and near to the track . Got some epic " Stig POV " pics from this actually , and it enables you to see detailing of around the circuit also .

Other bug I found was that there is a certain way that you can drive any car in game at all of the kart track circuits in free run . Been having some great fun driving the Lotus 72 and the road cars at these :)

There is no Dunlop bridge , it's been gone a while now !

I am starting to think a lot of bugs (at least the cool ones) are developer utilities that somehow made it to production inside the final code. I witnessed some pretty cool helmet and above the car views while trying to tune some cars at Donington this morning. Not sure what I did to evoke them however. This was via a PS4 version.
I was driving the GT4 BMW for the very first time when this started.

I was thinking something similar also . I had a crash then hit replay , gave me some great views so yeah it is cool sometimes .
PS4 here also . Two more bugs i've found tonight , offline in the shifter kart , changing views , then suddenly helmet cam is behind the driver . Your view ahead is your headless torso driving the kart . Little sinister if you experience it lol .

The other is with online AI . Started the race , 2 AI cars collided on the line whilst the rest sat motionless for the entire race in their grid slots .

Might be just me but I actually don't mind finding these problems , the core game underneath is so good and the developers actually listen , communicate with the fanbase and get right onto patching the problems .

If this was a GT title with these problems then my reaction would be quite the opposite with the way they handle things .
I'm impressed with this Pcars breath of fresh air experience .

I am impressed with SMS as well. Although GT has more polish is places (Social Interface) PCars got the Sim part right.
And yes, they do fix what they find wrong and I suspect they listen to this and there own site posts.
I think they will catch up on the social front. But the core of the game is about driving racing cars.
That said, I hope they expand their sports car list along with the racing cars.

Has anyone reported the issue when you select "simulate remainder of the session" from within pit box? I have had it a couple of times now where I will select this and then "simulating session" will appear on the screen with a clock, but it has frozen. When it appears, I need to close the application from PS4 menu and then relaunch the game.

All I can say is they are obviously not looking too hard then ;-) There are still plenty of bugs and crashes happening with the PS4 :-(

The last bug patch was 1.77 Gb .

I'd say that's looking pretty hard at the problems and there will be more to follow .

well i have an xbox one controller with no ffb since day one...all the patches still nothing, after 2.0 i cant even have fun with the game, i know something will ruin my race, sometimes the AI, sometimes the bugs...

Yes I believe what you say and what you've witnessed. I've never attempted the career mode. I went right to driving racing cars in the practice track day area. And I've encountered system crashes there. Also, for some reason, if you leave PCars running (let's say over night) when next you attempt to play, it will not work.

You will have to restart the entire app. There is also the massive lag encountered when racers join your on-line room.

So I'm not saying PCars is spotless. But when they recognize a problem, they go after it ASAP. It takes weeks, not months for SMS to take action. And yes, senior SMS people accepted the risk in releasing the software with the bugs.
They also accepted the responsibility of fixing them in a timely manner.
For Gran Turismo...............not so much.

The developer has to be able to easily repeat bugs in order to find the problem and it appears to me as an observer at least, that not everyone is experiencing all the bugs equally. You have people posting basically say, "I have played XXX hours and other than this or that minor thing it's been pretty smooth". And for other players the game is a complete mess It's quite possible that they see stuff posted and then go to the game to test it and it doesn't happen on their consoles at the studio just like it doesn't happen for every user out in the gaming world. Common sense would dictate they will focus on the most easily repeatable bugs first and foremost and if and when they are resolved, move on to the harder to repeat issues.

At least it is simulating something as it would happen in real life, would you prefer it was like in many games and nothing has any consequences? Not knowing what happens next is what racing is all about.

There must be a heap of crash reports sitting on the Sony servers.... and that would be just from me ;-) With each crash the PS4 gives you the option to send Sony a crash report from there they will have all the details as to why the crash happened so SMS really doesn't have to look all that hard to find the exact reasons why something like crashes is happening. Also there are bugs that they have said they fixed when quite clearly this is not the case. Patch 2.0 was only a band aid and did very little to address the real problems PS4 users are having. Sorry I can't comment on other platforms.

I'm always worried whenever I choose to restart a race as that's often when the problems come about. I never know if I'll lose all FFB upon restarting, or if the common 'wrong starting angle of wheel' bug will turn up. Loading up a race is usually okay, but it's the restarts that are causing me trouble. I'm no programmer but is this a memory issue? Restarting can also bring about a messed up grid where the camera is floating below the game world. These are launch problems that are still present and I hope they'll eventually iron them out. At the moment it's Russian roulette when restarting to see whether or not I'll need to quit back to main menu or be able to race.

I'm sure someone will just tell me to get better at driving so I won't need to restart, but I tend to do my tuning in race conditions, not free practice.

Having said that, i just drove a couple of hours in the Ginetta GT4 for the first time and was having great fun. The car sounds great and is good to drive. Lost the engine audio for a race too (classic) but as often as I roll my eyes at the bugs and curse the game for glitching on me I just can't stop playing it.

I think you may have misunderstood my post ?
It should have simulated a DSQ for the AI, not for me.
I'm fine with penalties & damage, that's why I enable them while driving.
But getting disqualified while being pushed off by a back marker... don't think that happens IRL.

Also, just as one fix can cause a domino effect of errors. One fix can also clear up many bugs.
Even undocumented/undiscovered problems.

The variables within each of our consoles or PC's may have anomalies that effect the entire game or small segments of the game. When you release software to millions, you ARE playing in the big leagues.
You can expect to get knocked down. The question is will you get up?

Pilots are disqualified when pushed in the grass by another pilot that is one lap late ??? Lol

Was that particular issue mentioned as a fix in the recent patch notes ?

Or is it an ongoing issue with the game for everyone playing Pcars on that platform ?
