Pilots are disqualified when pushed in the grass by another pilot that is one lap late ??? Lol

Disqualified in the sense that you car does not function anymore, or get stuck in the grass, yes, as opposed to a typical racing game where driver go off and back on the track so quickly that they do not even loose any time.
What type of racing would you say a car is hit hard enough by another car to leave the track and still be able to keep on racing?

I think you may have misunderstood my post ?
It should have simulated a DSQ for the AI, not for me.
I'm fine with penalties & damage, that's why I enable them while driving.
But getting disqualified while being pushed off by a back marker... don't think that happens IRL.

However, the local team’s Honda Performance Development ARX-03c was pushed onto the grass whilst lapping a back marker on lap 58, and retired with accident damage after the car spun on the grass and collided with the Ferrari http://www.motorsport.com/wec/news/stunning-strakka-stung-by-back-marker-at-silverstone/

Fanapryde I understand that what happened might have been frustrating, and I feel for you. I am just pointing that more often than not we get away with murder in racing game and that it is not realistic. In real racing most contacts and errors have you out of contention, even if your are not the one at fault.
I, for one , would prefer if there was consequence for driving recklessly, as that way the better driver would finish ahead more often, as opposed as seeing pseudo drivers finishing in front of you after they went off track and destroyed their car many times during the race. just a thought.

Lots of old JGTC / JTCC races had some contact and cause cars to go off track and rejoins and still racing to the finish :) Depends on the car ( open wheel, touring cars, road cars ), the severity of the collision ( a little nudge on the rear end that spun a car off track ) and what sort of off roading involves ( deep sand beach, grass or run off tarmac ) :)

I agree Ridox, going of road in real life does not always end up by being totally out, but rarely can you keep on going as if nothing happen and at a minimum the car needs some fixing at the pit and loosing a lap or 2. The lack of predictability is part of racing and should be embraced, some time your are at fault some time you are innocent but you never know where you will end up and if you will even finish. Remember to good old days of the deadnutseven, we could go from first to last in half a lap, good times.

I read the article and I noticed that the nearby marshalls said it was not his fault. He was pushed wide by a back marker, left the track and collided with another car which forced him to quit the race. Bad luck and pretty frustrating, but it does happen.
In "my" case, I was pushed wide on the grass, I recovered without hitting anything and while rejoining the track I got DSQ for cutting the track !!
I think you will notice the difference here.
In my book cutting the track while going wide (for whatever reason) would only be possible in a S-bend. The game should see that...

I had to retire from some endurance races due to mechanical failures and having a damaged front end which left me without headlights. I have no problem with that.

For me it is not the fact that AIs are horrible in Project Cars that is the problem (I think the way they work is "target the player full throttle"), it is the way rules are applied (that need in real life more judgement). It is also a kind of AI that can be very complex to write.

Was that particular issue mentioned as a fix in the recent patch notes ?

Or is it an ongoing issue with the game for everyone playing Pcars on that platform ?
it is a PC bug if you use an xbox controller, if you move the FFB slider (even 1), you will have some weird slowmotion, and stuttering issues when you press the brakes hard...

PS4 24 minutes of Le Mans 24h (Prototype Only) AI stop racing after 2nd lap.

So I was trying to set up a 24 minute race in Solo mode to test it out before creating an online room. So I set the time progression up to 60X and just tried a 6 lap race. I also set tire wear to 6X and had 14 AI opponents. Everything is set to REAL. So on the 3rd lap I noticed that all the AI cars were limping along the first long strait as if they had run out of gas. What happened? My tires were still good, and I still had two more laps worth of gas and I only started with 32l. I have run this over and over with different time progression and tire wear settings with the same result. AI limping around the track after two laps.

I would like to add that I absolutely love this game. I understand there are going to be bugs, and I just want to help fix them. Even with these bugs the AI are more challenging than the GT6 straight line never contending AI.

Had no idea about that as i'm on a different platform . Doesn't sound too fun though .

PS4.
Track: Brno
Car: GT3 class
Weather : clear .
Time : 11amp

Issue: for no reason my car stops and hit the invisibly wall in race online .
I dident hit nobody in this race .
Had the same issue with racing the AI at Brno .

This is big fun you can't imagine whaw project cars you are my man bravo .... whole week training wasted to be thrown out at the 4 lap .
It is not the only issue as you know .

Not something I've experienced but then I've never had to adjust the FFB since my Xbone controller works fine on Xbone and PC.

Glencairn Kart invitational, shifter kart, PS4.
Each and every lap I got the message " cut track, laptime invalidated".
I ended up driving completely in the middle of the track and still got the warnings...

Totally . Unlucky for those who have tinkered though .

It's almost like the programmer who defined the boundary limits had decided to get drunk when setting the defined track limits .
Is there more bugs on any one platform or are they still equally fubar'd ?

Was it a long online race length ? I did a 5 lap Brno online this week here on PS4 , no issues with that short length I can report .

Another track is Dubai GP at the big tightening right hander and at the 90degree turn at the end of the back straight. Usually only when surrounded by AI. This one happens very regularly but I have had it intermittently on other tracks Bathurst, Spa. I just ignore it now and treat it as just what happens when it's not crashing or the wheel losing FFB or my car is hitting invisible walls.

I haven't had it at Brno........ yet. Road America and Watkins Glen seem to be my main ones where I hit the invisible wall and get flung off the track upside down :-(

I think this happen randomly not 100% sure .
It was a 15 lap online race .
Had the same issue with the AI at Bruno when doing a race , also 15 flappy's .
Very dissepointing in this game .
You know....if you just do a pick-up online race
I really don't car if there are some issue , but if you put a hole week of training in it than I'm
A bit.........let say......mad only a little bit mad .:)

Has anyone else experienced problem that you suddenly loose sound during the race? Like all sound even in menus and such? I have to close the game and start again which is a real problem for longer races.
I use headphone amp/DAC that could be causing this but this has not happened in any other game.
Maybe it is some known issue but didn't find it here.

Similar issue yesterday , but not full sound , only engine effects when I restarted a career race . Clicked restart again and it was back to normal .

Additionally , in a separate free run , I entered the circuit and tuning menu for the car and there was no tannoy sound or stig " Go go go " . Would like both dropped from the game actually . The tannoy is a 5 second loop repeated continuously and sacked stig saying that phrase every time you leave the pits is grating already ...

Lost all FFB when I changed cars & went for a quick race weekend. Nothing new here, has happened to others, first time for me though. Sound also cut out & back on again.

Same here man.. I really don't see a pattern to it either. Some sessions everything works no issues, then another session, FFB doesnt work, restart.. now the engine sound is gone, restart, First lap I hit a fake invisible wall, restart, hey guess what FFB doesnt work again, restart..

Next morning 2 hours of play in different cars, different tracks, online and solo.. not one issue.

The ai kept hitting an invisible barrier in front of my pit

in a loop, no avoiding it

had to quit the race and lost a championship podium because of it

Ginetta GT4, Bathurst, main race

Is there a workaround to the red hot tyre after pit stop issue?

I'm doing Le Mans and after three stints I don't fancy quiting to try it all over again.

I've just found a workaround for every single bug in this game!

Bin it & go back to GT6! :P
