WRONG ****ING ANSWER! GT4_Rule, Toyota's technology had ZERO to do with the Audi R8's success because of three things about the TSO20 "GT-One".

1 - It was a DALLARA of ITALY design.
2 - It was constructed by DALLARA of ITALY.
3 - DALLARA of ITALY has been building race cars since Giampaolo Dallara, former head of the Ferrari works team and of Lamborghini's design & engineering staff (chiefly responsible for the Miura) founded the company in 1972.

Dallara has built F1 cars, the Lancia Stratos, O37, Beta Montecarlo, AND LC2 Group C cars, they designed and built the first batch of Ferrari 333SP's and were the contracted developers of the aborted F50GT1 project. Their F3 chassis are practically unbeatable, as are their Indy car chassis.

It's DALLARA's technology, not Toyota's, that's brought success to all of those makes.

You obviously didn't understand my post....did I say anywhere that "Toyota's technology eventually gave birth to the Le Mans conquering R8....interesting..."? What I said was "GT-One's technology" which can be understood as "Technology in GT-One" which means "The technology the developer put into GT-One"

Read the whole post before you comment, dammit...

And please do calm down with the swearing, it wasn't necessary.

Hey, uhh GT4_Rule and Layla could you guys maybe take this argument somewhere else? :nervous: I don't want to act like a mod, but i don't think this has much to do with the "Group C Club"

I do agree. Layla's Keeper, I understand that he was way off with that response but I don't think your correction needed an Explanation point. You said somewhere here that you aim to educate so I think it would be more logical to explain better then to chew his head off.

Back to Group C:
as I said, I would have thought that Le Mans at that time was a fast track Because of the Unchicaned Mulsanne Straight. in fact, the Fastest Group C Car in 1989 was the Sauber Mercedes C9, which didn't have wheel Covers.

Hi,

I'm wondering if I can join your club, I love cas such as the Minolta and Nissan R89 and R92 (especilly R92).

Thanks

GT4_Rule
Sauber C9 was the fastest Group C? Wow, no wonder why that car owns everybody on the track.
in that particular year. in fact, the speed it was able to achieve was the main reason that the A.C.O. had Chicanes added to the straight.

lol, the speed demons they were. That car means serious business, but did it win any Le Mans?

Thanks for that. I didn't want to do it myself.

1st time i saw group c car was in HK... when i was little. And once i truly saw Best Motoring International series.

So these cars by far can do both track time and show off serious power. Most def. they are no diff. in my eyes than us humans.... ^.^ thanks for having me...

Dax.

rabidmonkey
did no one watch the Le Mans last weekend? it was shown on irish tv for the first time this year, I would have watched more, at night the sports channel changed to NASN and baseball was on all night :irked:
add me to the club please!

I watched pretty much the whole thing here in the USA on the Speed channel..It's good that they are adding it to programming around the world too.

Also, welcome Rabidmonkey!

Oh my goshness!
I lust after group C cars. They're so freakin awesome. Drooling here. I love to fantasize about them all day.

I have to be in!

I love these cars, where can i find videos of them from ?

Please add me to the club, I have them all exept for the 92C!:)

here's a question for all group Group C fans. which do you like: Wheel covers or no wheel covers?

Layla's Keeper
Group C is all right, but the real badasses of 80's road racing were the IMSA GTP cars.

C'mon. The Nissan R89C has nothing over its GTP cousin, the GTP-ZX Turbo.

@ Superfast: I kinda felt like it was necessary. I didn't want this to get out of hand and make this cool thread all discombobulated :boggled: Haha I like using big words :) Also, I don't seem to have my name on the list. I did put up an offer ( but I refined it today) on page 7. Anyway, great thread! :)👍

Yeah, I really appreciated that . I'm sorry that I hadn't added your name, I was sure I had done it. Anyways, it's there now. And thanks for the kind words about the thread. :)
