Wow, thanks for the info!!

Although I can´t find a Pug 905 evo 2 at Donington in this list. It is present in practice at Magny Course, but thats all.
Was it just uncovered and not driven at Donington?

How come there are no pictures of it? I can´t find any!

Yes, it was something like that, it was seen on the paddock of Donnington, but I don't think it turned a wheel there "officialy" (I have an old portuguese mag with a photo of it and it's clearly Donnington, go figure :nervous: ).

As for photos of it, try these ones (really hard to find):

Hmmm. that car Reminds me of the WR LMP 675 cars(which were also Peugeot powered).

THANK YOU for the shots of the Peugeot 905 Evo 2. 👍 👍

Very rare to find a photo of that car. It's a shame they didn't enter it at Le Mans in 1993, just to see what it would do.

Welcome in, Encyclopedia, and welcome Team666.

I was just messing around at Sarthe today in the 905 (boy does THAT sound cool), and I really was impressed. I had worked up a lot of money to buy it, but I had never really driven it much. But, once you get past the slow gear changes (you can, trust me), I was really impressed with the car. I actually ran a 3:18:343 at Sarthe 1. Sweeeet.

Also, thanks Gil, for those excellent shots of the evo 2. I looked all over and found nothing.

Welcome to both of you. Yeah, I find it really remarkable too that the Group C cars of 20 years ago can still keep pace (and beat) the most technologically-advanced cars in the world, the LMP1s.

For those "fans" of the Evo2, just check out this article on the guerney-flap.com page, written by none other than Peter Elleray (that's Mister Bentley EXP8 and Radical SR9 for you :) : http://www.gurneyflap.com/peugeot905evo2.html

Just check out this comparison picture of the Bentley and Peugeot:

Can I join? GT3 intoduced me to the Group C cars with the 787B, and I've loved these machines ever since, as well as the newer LMPs. My all time favorite is still the first one I discovered, the Mazda 787B, and in black (GT4 black beauty)

Yeah, always loved Group C cars, along with Can Am and other similar racers. Can I join?! Black 787B rules, I think they had a prototype of the 787B in real life that was black but said Mazda on it in different places than the one in the game. The black R92CP is pretty sweet too. Unfortunately I didn't have enough cash for the black GT-One or R390 GT-1 so I guess I'll have to wait until next "Christmas".

I'd like to join up, superfast. I love the Group C cars, even though never had the chance to see them race, I still think they are awesome, especially the 787B and R92CP. Incredible braking and handling. :)

It's such a shame that so many of the best of the Group C/GTP cars (and I do mean THE BEST) are overlooked because so much of today's exposure to Group C is through Gran Turismo.

The 787B? Slow as all hell at Le Mans. Qualified 12 that year, well behind the Repsol Porsche 962C's and SauberMercedes C11's. They were about equal on pace with the Jaguar XJR-12's that gave them the biggest headaches (and if they hadn't had to make so many fuel stops, would've won the race instead of finishing 2-3-4).

Now, let's talk Chevy Intrepid! 6.0L Chevy V8 in a stellar Riley & Scott chassis that provided incredible downforce at all speeds. This car took the fight to the Toyota, Jaguar, and Nissan juggernaughts for pennies on the dollar thanks to its straightforward design and wicked power.

Impressively enough, the chassis's basic design soldiered on with an open cockpit body and any number of engines, and became the single most successful open-cockpit prototype racer of all time - The Riley & Scott MkIII.

did no one watch the Le Mans last weekend? it was shown on irish tv for the first time this year, I would have watched more, at night the sports channel changed to NASN and baseball was on all night :irked:
add me to the club please!

Impressive car. its cool that the designed lived on through the next evolution, the MK IIIc and currently still exist on the MK IV.

Hmm cool. But what's with the wheel covers, the one in the game doesn't have one...
you mean them (gotcha back!:sly: )

thats the test car I believe. the rest that were developed By TRD and run under Toyota Team Tom's were perhaps later developments and thus evolved without the wheel covers.

It still is hard for me to believe Dome designed it because I thought Dome was always Exclusively working with Honda Seeing as they Designed the JGTC NSXs.

BTW: this is my 840th post.

So then the 88C-V was developed before Dome became involved with Honda. That explains it.
seems so .in fact, they were involved with Toyota. they also designed the 83C, the 84C, th 85CL, the 86CL, and the 87CL. and as evidently shown by these three Pictures, it wasn't just the prototype program they were working on:

Hmm I see. Thanks for the info RACECAR. :)

Just had a look at the picture above again contrasting the Peugeot 902 Race Car and the Bentley Speed 8; again I was struck by how similar it was. One can say that "Group C may be gone but its spirits live under a different name, the LMP1"

I've seen the Minolta in an old video with wheel covers, so sometimes it had them and sometimes it didn't. I figure it only had wheel covers on the fast tracks.

hmmm, I would think Le mans was a fast track at the time considering this car was made around the time the Mulsanne straight was unchicaned.

Dome's work is not uncommon. A lot of "factory" prototypes are the results of development by established privateer companies, many of whom have worked for various factories simultaneously.

Infamous for this practice is Dallara. Dallara actually was responsible for the Audi R8's chassis, and they created it while working in concert with Toyota on the TSO20 GT-One.

AND their proposed replacement for the Audi R8 was the chassis that became the Oreca Chrysler LMP in 2001.

I didn't relize The GT-ONE was also designed by Dallara.
I do recall hearing about Dallara Designing the tub on the R8. did they Design the current R10?
