The GT Sport Epic Whining and Crying Thread

I have been playing GT since 2002. I have a PS2, PS3, & a PS4. I have played lots of other racing games & sims, also a few regular games, but none of them have ever made the fan on my console go mad; until tonight. I've heard of other people complaining about fan noise, but I've never experienced it myself before. I thought my PS4 was about to die, & was going to be killed off by GT Sport! Even Project CARS with a full grid of 30 cars doesn't make my PS4's fan sweat. Is my PS4 on it's way out? Has PD pushed the console beyond it's limit with GT Sport? I don't know, but it's gonna make me think twice before firing up GTS again that's for sure. I was so worried about it getting too hot that I've left it on to cool down.

Just do what I did, and stack a couple of those things you put on the bottom of furniture to prevent scratches and raise your PS4 up so air flows underneath.

Also just so you’re aware, No Man’s Sky, which is a completely inferior game in all aspects, makes my fans whine more than GT Sport does, so don’t worry about the noise lol.

My PS4 fan gets a real sustained work out with GTS when the temperature goes up here (40c+ with 28c night time minimum) but it's still going strong, and it's an early model. They seem able to cope quite well.👍

I started years ago back when I was running a lot of higher wattage output per channel power amps to use open wire shelving for electronics which allows full airflow around all sides of the unit at all times.

The absolute worse is putting a piece of gear into one of the entertainment centers that have the wooden shelves enclosed by the glass doors.

For sure your wife may like the way it looks but you are cooking your gear into a likely premature grave.

Ambient air temps in the room will also be a big factor, keep the room fairly cool and if it is a little warm at least have a fan blowing across the unit to aid in transferring the heat the unit is producing away from the unit.

Keep your electronics cool and you will increase their service life. Nothing kills electronic hardware faster than excessive heat.

Seeing as though this is the whine thread I really hope 1 day pd change the times for the fia events. 900pm they start here in Australia(not sure elsewhere) which means I and I'm sure countless others, can't play due to the fact I start work at 12am. Maybe they could have 2 sessions morning/night?

Agreed, two sessions would be great 👍. I have all day free but am busy when the events are on so I haven't been able to enter a single FIA event, and the time slots are far worse for our Kiwi neighbours.

Yeah ive done 2 on a Saturday as its my only night off...pretty stuffed by then though

One little thing that I would love is to have a 3rd option in replay for cameras, with more far / from the top angles, giving a better view of the actions. It could be some stuff like this :



These kind of angles :

Replays from GT have always be a pleasure to the eyes, but with this new "sport/online" orientation, I would prefer angles which might be less pretty/fun but better to track the action...

If we go a little bit further, we could imagine a replay mode where the game automatically finds the more interesting stuff to be highlighted and seen with multiples angles

It’s probably nothing, though it might be the air flow around the PS4 itself?

If it’s any consolation, Fortnite (known to be playable on pretty low end hardware on PC) makes my PS4 sound like it wants to explode, and that doesn’t look anywhere near as good as GTS

Even back when Sony announced the content updates and the roadmap - which we've since completed, on schedule - no-one ever said the word "monthly". Ever.

And your assumption that I "can't handle" responses to what I post here is false. I simply choose not to waste my time viewing their troll-like drivel & ignore them instead.

Back on topic; the tyre model in this game is the worst in any GT game so far imo, & I don't know how it even passed quality testing. The amount of wheel spin, especially in higher gears, is quite unrealistic & makes the cars harder to drive that their real world counterparts. Coming from GT5 & GT6 I'm very disappointed.

I don't know why fixed tracks ode cameras is gb done. Before a players presses Start, we get demo's of different parts of the track. Why can't we get a camera at the Start/Finish line, a camera in the grand stands, a camera at T1, Final turn, etc?

Sometimes I just watch the demo angles before I start a race. Catches the feel of a real race.

There are only 2 points that make gt-s better than gt5/6
Better gfx & better sfx.
Thats all, nothing more.
Its just a shadow of itself to all other aspects that maked gran turismo great.
Compared to every other seriuos "sim" gt-s is just a joke, and so i cant take people seriuos if they play it seriuos and talk seriuos about this "flimbos quest" racing game.
