Honda JACCS NSX Super Taikyu (STZ)

This livery snazzed up a rather simple looking racing world during the early 90s; adorned on many Civics and Accords at the time. Now the dynamic style of the JACCS livery has been applied to the dynamic (and rather annoying to work with) shape of the NSX, ready for proving it's endurance and racing fellow GT4 cars in the Super Taikyu STZ class. Analysing the Super Taikyu grid, I was surprised that there wasn't a NSX entered, although there were a few Civics & S2000s. The overall design is kept as similar as possible to the original JACCS liveries, with new (jam-packed) sponsor placements typical of a Super Taikyu car. I also wanted to keep it as Sport Mode compatible as possible but the hood number plate covers most of the JACCS logo, so it's partially compatible if it's any use to anyone  Drivers listed are Tiago Monteiro, Attila Tassi and Jim Ta Ko, who currently race for Honda Racing in the WTCR series. I wish we had some tyre sidewall stickers for the Gr.4s though, just to complete the look.

This Reebok GT-R is part of a long line of 40+ GT3 liveries I've made this year that uses the same number plate and contingency logos as if completing in the same race.

It's a livery that gives honor to the Hasemi Motorsports prepared Group A HR31 and R32 Skylines that raced in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Some creative differences I done with the livery is using the current Reebok logos and having Sony as a secondary sponsor that give the car a all black rear.

I took the Team Central20 Nissan LM03C Coca Cola light Canon livery as my inspiration since I already had all the decals ready from when I made the livery for the R92CP. It's quite a pain with these light gray stripes and not really easy to make them look decent on the SuperGT GTR, especially in the front section of the car.

May change my entry still, had another idea that works well also and is on something a bit different aswell. I'll end up sharing it anyway.

Edit: never mind

When does it stop being a replica, and become an inspired original...?
I guess it can be a proper replica of an old livery.

It can't if the old livery has already been replicated recently.

I personally have lots of old liveries replicated on more recent cars so if I don't have time to do a new one I'll still be able to post something, but I'm looking for a new project and I think I have one... :)

Great theme once again, even if it doesn't call so much to creativity than to the capacity to find THE livery that will talk to you and / or to the people who plays that game since decades!

But it states it must be an original. That’s wha I’m getting at

Original in the sense that you‘re not allowed to just post a replica of the pink pig 911 that ran at LeMans this year (or last).

I’m just trying to get a base on what is and what isn’t possible since I’ve seen what is very nearly 3 exact replicas that I can think of at the moment.

I’m not moaning about anyone, I just want to know where I draw the line. I like my boundaries and unfortunately need to know what they are and need them to be exact. this is why I get bothered when I feel people skip around them. Let’s just say it’s a life long condition that I need boundaries to be followed and it bugs me when I don’t understand them correctly!

@D-Max I assume from the rules given that you can effectively create a replica of an old livery or a similar design in homage and fashion it to a new car/racing series, but obviously you can't replicate liveries that have already been 'thrown back' in real life; like the Pink Pig Porsche that Nuschel mentioned or some of the Ford GT Le Mans tributes that appeared this year for example.

They have to be original in sense that those livery designs haven't been revisited yet in the current day.

This.

Also as stated by @Slender_Man , the current regulations must be taken in consideration, so tobacco and alcohol brands may be "suggered" but not mentionned, and a car which had Pirelli sponsorship in the past but runs in the IMSA GTLM/GTD series must wear Michelin tyres.

So basically it can be a classic replica and add a modern twist, but not a replica of a real life replica of a classic?:confused::boggled:

Ufff, you're going too far for me right now.
I'm far from knowing the "tire rules" of the different championships...

So this is my take. This is a modern interpretation from the Peugeot 405 Dakar, which won the Dakar in 1989 and 1990. I could choose the Gr. B car, but I really like the look of the Gr. 3, so I went with that. It's very simplistic, but somehow I spent so much time designing it, you wouldn't believe it. I hope you enjoy it.

Edit: And yes I changed Camel to Gamel for good reasons ;) Apparantly Gamel is a famous baseball player I don't know :D

Nice one 👍

Would you be able to make (and share) it with the actual Camel logo as well? :D I got an RCZ waiting for a cool livery
Here is my 205 Turbo 16 Evo 2 Gr.4, the same on the Gr.3 Road Car, and the Gr.B if you want. ;)

Then the Ari Vatanen's 405 T16 Pikes Peak, and the Sébastien Loeb's Pikes Peak '13.

Bonus for the Gr.3, Stealth, Ice and Fire models here.

Edit : links fixed...

BTW @AngryKowski, good job! I was actually thinking about doing the 205 T16 livery for my Gr.3! :D

(and @Cytoria you didn't answered to my question in PM)

I have a question:

Super Formula doesn't use number boards, so do we slap a number board from a GT race series on there or just use SF style numbers?
