money. Is what could be an issue with some people. Everyone on this board, I am sure, would love to be able to post their replay. I would also like to post my reply and be able to see everyone else's. However, I currently don't have the means to make that happen. To do so would require me to not only purchase the AR MAX or Sharkport, but a new computer as well. As much as I would love a new computer (to make hangin' on this board that much more enjoyable) I can't see it me having one any time soon. So what if a D1 driver can't verify? Does he get disqualified? Personally, I love being a part of things like this even when I can't participate to the extent others can, but to be, in a way, rejected due to matters that are beyond my control seems very disheartening.

But anyways, I am only a D2 driver and am not required to verify. That won't stop me from racing my ass off every week hoping to make D1. I wanted to give everyone an opinion 'from the other side', if you will.

I completely agree, money is an issue for many people (including me). I'd love to post replays so people could point out my weak spots and help me to become better, or just to show my time off if I do well. But I haven't the means to do that.

Famine, what in the world are you doing inside a non-official, but seasoned, embittered, grizzled, cynical online racer? :boggled:
:P
I for one am saddened by the news that the time has shifted to a Sunday/Monday, as i have to access GTP from work, meaning i will have to submit times on a Friday now, and i will therefore have less time to run them, literally only Monday and Wednesday evenings, due to other work commitments, but i suppose this is a small price to pay for the feeling of great security that has been re-instilled in me since Kent's return, I'm sure organising all of us into races and then structuring the results must be a gargantuan task, and i hold Famine in great esteem for grappling with it over the last few weex, (not to mention his love of Red Dwarf) but there is something homely and familiar about seeing Kents avatar on the first post that i find somewhat re-assuring, and i am more than happy to try in the limited time that i have, if it means that he can stay in charge.

In keeping with the current topic, i would like to praise the idea that racers show their replays, as i have bought a Max Drive specifically to do so, as i want the world to see my efforts, but i think one solid fact has been overlooked, or gone unmentioned:
We all race here to prove our worth and see where we stack up in the world, but when someone beats us by up to 5 seconds, and we thought we had the fastest time ever (not mentioning any names...cough...Hugo...cough) we all want to see the replay!
I remember someone saying in a thread called something like "What the WRS has taught us" or something, that we had all learned how to go faster through being pushed by others, and by watching their efforts in replay form, and i think this is an invaluable point.
It should be compulsory for all Division 1 racers to post replays. After all they are going so much faster than the rest of the field, and they are obviously serious about what they do, otherwise they wouldnt have qualified in Div 1 in the first place.....
We should be able to study their lines, and benefit from the experience, thus enhancing our own games.
Sharing with the world, is what it is all about.

Now feel free to rip my monologue to pieces....... :irked: :irked: :irked:

I work 40 hrs a week AND am a full-time college student (again! after 6 years out of HS and two from taking part-time school.) I do not hace the time or money to mess with a maxtor, or whatever and if I am that good (which WON't HAPPEN) I will just concede. I don't really care.

Money is my first problem, second problem is that I can't find some sort of device anywere.

I have a USB stick but that isn't meant for such type of files isn't it?

Cheers,

If £10/$18 is an issue for you guys, then how on earth did you manage to afford GT4?

Heh, no doubt...not to mention $150 for a PS2, memory card, and whatever other games there are in the collection. $18 is a bargain, almost any other hobby will cost you way, way more.

hOt6o4bOi with the pace you are showing you will need a replay device if you are to be believed. You cannot win div1 if you are unable to post a replay.
