Some colors are a little off and were better in GT5, like the BNR32 GTR Gun Metal gray (too dark in GT6) and the Titanium gray RX7 (too blue in GT6)

And a feature that i really miss in GT6 was the option we had in GT5 to switch time of day and scenery at the dealer. So you could actually see working headlights and popup headlight work!!! :D

AI is slow so they had to make you start at the back and with a time disadvantage on the rabbit in front, if they would have given us qualifying so we would have started more to the front, the rabbit would be done for in the first lap.

That's why you have it online and not in career or arcade.
Sad really...

It's not just the slow AI, the type of opponents PD picks in A-spec mode are just stupid. I was just watching a stream of someone doing a race in A-spec mode. The PP limit was 450 so he tuned his car to 445 PP. He now had a 270 hp Focus and the car he had to beat was a stock Honda Civic sir(?) wich I think has about 160 or 170 hp.

Just fill the field up with cars close to 450 PP and go back to standing starts. Wil still be easy but less of a "chase the rabbit feel".

I just finished the one-make race where only the toyota 86 gt - subary brz 's can participate.

I bought one 86 gt and i entered the race without even changing the oil (which would have given me about +10 BHP, but i wanted my car to be exactly the same with the rest of the field.)

I won the race, my laps were 5 seconds faster than the race leader, so in 3 laps i was able to overcome the -15 seconds gap i had at the start.

Sorry PD, this is NOT a racing game simulator!

Coincidence? Don't think so...

GT6 is a very good driving simulator. I'm completely happy with the way the cars feel and the newly added tracks are great.

What it isn't however is a racing simulator. Every race is just a time trial to see if you can overcome the 15 second gap. There is no racing going on at all because if you are fast enough to catch the leader you are going to fly past them

My main gripes about the game so far:
1. Only 6-8 AI at one time(?)
2. No Jukebox (for in-game music)
3. Paint chips and the AE special driving suits + helmets cost a fortune. I thought they were free since it was a pre-order perk.
Other than that, I'm completely satisfied with GT6.

Engine noises still aren't great, and the aero mods are kinda crappy, I was hoping for proper GT-like modifications, like works conversions from GT5.

AI sucks
Sounds suck
Graphics are worse
PS2 content still in

But...Driving on the moon yo, 10/10

I don't have the game but a 10/10 can't be wrong, right? I mean, it's Gran Turismo, it's like the best game evar.

^This pretty much resumes most of the GT dedicated forums out there right now. One guy in a spanish forum was asking if the reviews were legit or bought out by M$ because FM had higher scores everywhere. He couln't believe that FM was actually better. He was like, ''GT is king, these reviewers can't be right''.

Lol and thanks everyone, you guys saved me 60 bucks.

Rather strange. I got my helmet and suit for free. It is under the special items in your racing gear menu (through the garage). You always have to pay to paint a car now. I didn't notice the AE paint chips to be that more expensive to apply. But honestly I didn't have that close a look at paint jobs yet.

Wait, you can only change your online ID a set number of times? Now I'm stuck with D. rift Idiot forever :grumpy:

Better than T. Inoue I suppose
Really? How many times have you changed it before it locked?

Suit and helmet are free and not even available to buy in the RACING GEAR shop IIRC.
Paint is simply available, you still gotta pay for the spray.

Still disapointed with the Ai Racers. Still feel horribly bland and non competitive, for the most part.

very rarely they do make it difficult to catch them. Every Gran turismo with the Classic race car races always seems to provide the most challenge out of the whole game.

Try catching a 2J and and Toyota 7 when the 2 drivers off them are Pushing hard and all you have to compete against them is the 59 Chevy. Thats Real challenge i want more of.

I get the feeling a lot of people here will experience what i had 3 years ago; GT fanboy since GT1 (and rightfully so), so I blindingly bought GT5 when it came out on day one, only to get the feeling they didn't make an effort anymore; i saw GT4 cars reappearing, some tracks not looking much better although they were on a new system (which i especially bought to play GT5), AI that seemed worse even (and then they took away fixed starts entirely with a patch), a career mode that was boring, engine sounds not improved and many other flaws on top of that... I felt I had been fooled by PD basically as i waited years and i got fed the previous game all over again (but worse) and repackaged for PS3.

Now we are 3 years later and I have a huge deja-vu, PD seems to be sitting on it's own success and just profit of the fact that a lot of folk don't know much about cars or motor racing and will buy the game anyway as GT has it's fame, and there's a fanbase that stay 100% loyal and turn a blind eye to every flaw + it doesn't have real competition on it's system anyway...

How can you ignore your own fans as much as they do, and just keep on doing it year after year and get away with it?

Among pretty much everything else, I really think you guys are overrating this 'AI' and 'damage modeling' crap. If you judge a 'racing simulator' by anything but actually racing against other human beings, you've probably been Doing It Wrong for years now. So much for 'fans', I guess.

edit: post above me: Please, just stop already. You people are out of control, more than happy to lie to yourselves and to everyone else for... what?

I'm really hoping the online regulations are improved in the next month with the addition of the 'community' feature. Because as of right now they're virtually no different than GT5. Huge letdown.

Why can't we set up our rooms just like the Seasonal and A-Spec events?

I'm tired of not being able to fully customize rooms that allow/deny certain cars; such as a '90s JDM room where you can cherry-pick which models are and are not allowed. This would be very useful for creating your own race league, club, or 'community'.

I'm banking off future updates to be my saving grace. Not exactly confidence-inspiring.

Check out this misleading pic directly from GT's website that had me all hyped up! Notice all the tabs up top?

Yeah, not really. Click R1 a couple times and you'll see it skips like 3 'bullet point' tabs at a time.

So why do Polyphony even bother making an A-Spec mode?

Not to mention the fact that online is far from perfect anyway...

What surprised me the most is that they left these huge cones on the moon during the last Apollo mission, i mean what were they doing up there back in the day?

So what were GT1, GT2, GT3 and GT4 if not racing simulators? Please, give us the True Fan™ explanation.

Please, just stop already. You people are out of control, more than happy to lie to yourselves and to everyone else for... what?

You know, I've been playing the game for an hour, and I'm hard pressed to find anything that PD actually fixed; and a few things that are now worse then they were when I stopped playing GT5. Praise placeholders, I suppose. So perhaps you can enlighten us all what the lies are.

Well , I bought it , played abit , and i was reminded why i dont play gt5 any more . There is nothing really wrong with it , but nothing so new and fresh it excites me . While doing a few laps at le mans I decided to rename gt6 , grand turismo de ja vu edition .
I hope others enjoy more but theres no way i will play this as long as gt5. Most of the cars i will never unlock or play with .
If your on the fence about picking this up , i dont belive it will take to long for gt6 to show up second hand
Maybe the track editor when released will change things , Maybe ?.
Edit , i just noticed mister dog had same de ja vu experience . I wasnt stealing your choice of words , just coincidence , interesting.
