It's simply idiotic to determine that GT7 will be a flop before it's even announced!

Don't you realize that GT7 will [most certainly] be on the next-gen platform?
I hope you realize most of the PD staff is working on GT7, trying to make it a great game.

Normally, I can agree with most of what is said in this thread; I'm at the end of my tether with PD are doing, and I'm sorry, but I wholeheartedly disagree with everything you've just said.
How on earth are you able to deduce that GT7 will be a flop when the game hasn't even been formally announced yet? Yes, we're all aware that GT5 and GT6 didn't do as well all of the other games in the GT series, but stating that GT7 will be a flop based upon the fact that the previous two installments haven't done as well is one of silliest things I've ever heard.
And, you're excited to see how it fails.

I was one of the people who didn't see all of the appeal in PCars, yet I wasn't someone who hoped it'd fail.
And yet, I feel like you're one of the people who thinks that PCars is the best thing that came to sim racing.

Oh, and maybe you shouldn't go around calling the people that are waiting for GT7 'fools'.
Just because you are excited to see it fail, it doesn't mean that you have the right to call the sizeable portion that want to purchase GT7 'fools'.

talking about Pcars and all those new games, even if some are not real sims or whatever, i don't understand how Kaz is not taking this threat seriously by responding with some stuff for GT6 ( VGTs still don't count as valid, of course )
i mean, back then, you had nothing with GT1, 2 and 3 or maybe a toca racedriver, forza and enthusia in front of GT4 if i remember well and that's basically it...
now see every GT player leaving the sinking ship ... such a waste

I was wrong to call people fools and apologise to anyone offended, but i have grown up with GT over the past almost 20 years. In that time i have seen something which i once thought was the greatest go from strength to strength and then abruptly come to it's end due to non-existence innovation from sticking to the old rinse and repeat.
Now GT isn't the only star in the spotlight with releases of titles such as PCars. These are new and exciting due to their innovation of brining new ideas and styles into the genre. Needed to break into what once was a firmly held GT PD dominated market.
Sadly I have grown up and releasise GT isn't that great and beleive going into the future with the assumption GT7 will be fanstastic is foolish. Given that the games concept hasn't change over the past almost two decades. Rather we all should proceed with caution as not to be burnt with dissapointment as of the situation of late. This was a foolish mistake i made myself with GT6.
Yes i do but that single factor isn't going to alter the gameplay signifacantly besides the computation power it'll allow. Eg improved physics and graphics.
Nevered played PCars but there's a lot more talk about it than GT. In a sense PCars possibly is the best thing that has came to sim racing. Hopefully it and other new racing seems competitive introduction will be a driving factor for PD to change their ways. Otherwise if they continue down the same blissful path GT7 will be a flop.
@TS040Hybrid - If you have something to say to me, I'd appreciate it if you would say it directly to myself rather than an open forum next time.

If you read my previous post, I stated that I'm also at the end of my tether with PD.

Anyway now that the handbags have been safely put away i can recount my day yesterday, I was bored so thought i would load up GT6 after not playing it for months and months and finally download the course maker. Well yea that didnt happen!
If anyone buys GT7 and the game doesnt have 100% of its claimed features by Kaz then all i can say is they deserve it.

Actually, I believe that the people who are happy with GT and can stay positive are the ones who care less. Being objective is a rare thing these days and GT6 is objectively the best GT ever and the best that the PS3 has to offer in the genre. In some aspects, it's the best that last gen brought to the table.

I've been a gt'er since 1998, Im being completely obejective when i say its a load of crap. Sure it does somethings well but when i have no desire to play or even complete half of career mode in one of my favourate franchises which i have been loyal to, my objective view of it is that its a piece of crap. If it wasnt i'd play it, my close mates would play it, and all the people on my psn friend list would be playing it instead of just one person. That verifies to me its a piece of crap that has some nice aroma, But no one wants to hang around to occasionally get a whiff of the nice aroma when theres a strong smell of crap flowing through the air.

Which proves my point exactly, I've been a GTer since the beginning too and I apreciate the good times and how the game made me the person I am now but that's something personal. That is what I took from it and will carry for the rest of my life but I never counted on the game to always deliver the same experience at the same level, it wouldn't be natural or realistic. As long as the game exists it'll keep those memories alive but as a piece of software, it has been doing what it is supposed to and improved upon that which is actually quite rare in the industry these days.
Nobody asked for a CM in GT5 but they did it anyway and now the foundation is there and people demand it (I wonder if it'll become the standard in the future for all sims), maybe the execution was horrible but just the idea of it makes a difference, same goes for the VGT program that almost seems to be offensive for some around here. I honestly don't see how the VGT program makes the game worse.
We might not be satisfied with the game and we shouldn't, considering the competition but objectively, the game is what was expected and does what it was expected to do. Gt is what it has always been but nostalgia can skew our judgement quite a lot.
