I think people will come flooding back to GT6 when/If the Course maker is added. The none presences of the course maker, is the Only reason people have stopped playing.

It will only last a couple of weeks though. People will come back, grab their updates, try the course maker then ditch the game as we all realise the course maker hasn't made a significant improvement over gt6's lack lusture everywhere else in the game. Again growing bored of it very quickly as we continue chasing that feeling that not there.

I owe an apology to Kaz for every time I swore about another GTR added to the game. After driving the new GTR Nismo in Assetto Corsa, I now understand from a hands on point of view, his fascination with this car. Oversteer with the throttle, on corner entry, the sound and the fury. What a glorious beast. Too bad it's handles like ton and half of steel on playdoh tires in GT.

Well the tires were modeled after Yokohama tires. I don't know about other people's thoughts but I wouldn't put them near the top of quality tire list. Maybe for 7 they'll sign a deal with Michelin or BF Goodrich or just something better in general.

But I don't think Yokohamas grip like that in real life.

Except that all tyre manufacturers make a range from super cheap and awful to track day and R comp. While performance differs between manufacturers, it's not to the extent that you make it sound like. ADVANs are a perfectly acceptable choice for a track day tyre.

Changing the manufacturer that they model the tyres after won't change a thing. They're fantasy tyres, they're not restricted by raw material costs and production capabilities. All Yokohama had to do was give data on how a given tyre would respond, regardless of whether they actually made that tyre in real life or not.

I don't think the problem is which tire manufacturer they used to model tires, it's the depth and complexity of the tire model, the overall physics and the way FFB is used to communicate what is happening with the car that separates GT from a game like AC. The cars just feel alive in AC and they seem to interact with driver inputs and errors more realistically or I might say, more believably. You really get a feeling of 1:1 car control with AC that you just don't get in GT.

If people get a chance, it's quite interesting to look at the tyre data files in AC. Because the game is designed to be moddable, you can see all the variables that define a tyre.

On the one hand, there's quite a lot of stuff. On the other, it's not really that complicated. Certainly anyone who is into their sim racing will read through the list of variables and think "those all make sense to me". Most of them, anyway.

I think AC is a very good example of a game that shows that you can get very good results out of a relatively simple simulation. It's just important to pick the right numbers for your variables, something else that becomes rapidly obvious if you tinker with the values in the tyre files. You can make GT-style racing softs in AC, and they still feel ridiculous.

I think one of the things that GT misses is that the joy of driving isn't necessarily going fast. Going fast is fun, but some of the cars like the Red Bulls and the Tomahawk X are more like playing Wipeout than driving a car.

It's looks like Forza read the GT7 requests page.

We want Circute of the americas - done.
We want Racing leagues- done.
Lol fail.

Atleast PD has one fastest growing requested car, though.

I agree that Gran Turismo needs work. Just like any game that is released there is always SOMETHING that can be improved or expanded upon.

Yet it's important to consider the following: How much are you playing Gran Turismo 6?

Here's a little statement.

Bob's favorite food is steak that his Mother cooks.

If Bob's Mother fed him steak every night for say two months, then likely he would begin to get tired of it.

This same idea applies to those of us who play Gran Turismo. Are we taking breaks from the game or obsessing over it?

If so we would reach a point where we found the game boring/repetitive.

I like to switch it up and play a few other titles: Resident Evil, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Need for Speed... even minecraft when I feel a need to satisfy my architectural needs.

This keeps my experiences balanced.

This week I began playing Gran Turismo 6, and it feels pretty good. I did a few seasonals, and even some career races. I had no bad feelings.

Problem with GT6 as a steak is that it's not baked properly, and Bob has been asking for a well done steak for about 10 years now.

...But I prefer mine raw. As in, "I better see some blood oozing off the meat"...

If we are running with this metaphor, I'd say past two GT games were advertised as Real Men's Steak Portions, but once you actually got your order, the size of the meat's less than quarter pound, and has waaay too much veggies and fries and not-very-manly frilly stuff with melted cheese as garnish.

Urgghhh I hate steak well done...

As a kiwi once said to me when I asked how do you like your steak, he said "boy, cut it's horns off & wipe it's ass then bring it to me bro" :)

I would opt for GT being a kids menu :D

Kaz.....Just say "we working on it" on Twitter is HIGHLY Appreciated.

And that just the standard of communication. Others even set up a dedicated blog for it.

Maybe not properly for you or me, but properly for some is key.

Some like well done, some like a little blood on theirs lol.

But I could compare GT6 to something like Forza and it would be the equivalent of comparing my mother's cooking to that of a world class chef's.

I think it's about preference, and moderation.

This week I began playing Gran Turismo 6, and it feels pretty good. I did a few seasonals, and even some career races. I had no bad feelings.

Except i got bored of it after 3 weeks when career mode was basically done. Did the odd race thereafter to grind cash and get more cars. But soon i bored of the chase the rabbit which never changed. I then started playing after new updates to check out the changes but soon stopped after about 3 updates. It was nothing innovative at all. I now havent played since probably the beggining of the year though every now and then want to. Before i remind myself, its boring and nothing changes.

I get the same feeling and I know it's because the game is repetitive.

Like you said "nothing innovative", besides the VGT cars, and perhaps photo mode.

It's been the same formula from the beginning, but to cope I just try and play it one to three times a week.

What I dont understand though is how Gran Turismo 2 can keep me playing for months and not be boring yet Gran Turismo 6 has to be played moderately, to prevent boredom.

I'm not leaning on GT anymore. It used to be my first choice, but now it's just there. I'm not even determined to finish the career in GT5/6. Even though I've beaten 1-4.

Is there any noise about a 400m speed test turning up? For me this was the single most enjoyable part of Gran Turismo, even without drag battles as an option. Always tweaking and chasing that personal best quarter mile time..

I don't understand.....
