It has to be translated.

(It's a jab at the Kaz Q&A forum in case some didn't get the ''joke'')

Lol bit of double pun there!

Must be so hard for a global company to translate a few lines of text into one of cultures most spoken languages geographically.

...I am half expecting this thread to explode very soon, since it hasn't already. 16+ hours of maintenance, and I'm still hearing folks with just as bad online issues as before.

...Soooo, what happened really? Was this outage just to make people lose their log-in bonuses? :indiff:

They didnt want this thread to be the next target of being closed.

Besides they should know what didnt come since we have these no new feature announcement maintenance already.

I can't see this thread being closed, as by its title it is the thread where most know we'll be silly in and convey lots of senseless banter. Plus is the only one I've came across that they allow this to happen?

On GT side of things, releases of updates are now that few and far apart that this thread is begining to lustre and tire :(.

Why i found the 'so about that course creator' thread fun to watch, but alas it has now been closed.

PS the maintenance (speculating here) may have something to do with the court case of the lizard squad member hacker that has been found for the massive attacks conveyed on both PSN and Xbox Live? Due to the case he's probably had to explain how the attacks were carried out and Sony/PD could be adjusting their server securities in accordance?

Ok,so i've a few odds and ends to clear up in the career mode, first off Rainmasters at the Nurburgring-first race got silver, second race nailed it with a nice clean(no contact) 6.5 second win over the FXX.
Next up is the final race of the shifter carts at the indoor track. After almost an hour and a half of restarts, second places and language that would put a navvy to shame,i've a question for PD...

In what universe is it easier to win a race around the Nurburgring,in a Mclaren F1,in the rain on,tyres with almost zero grip than it is to win a go-kart race ?
Not this one it seems...

I swear sometimes this game can almost push you over the edge... :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
Rant over,carry on...:boggled:

To be fair, it seems that all racing games are like that.

Sure, GT AI kinda suck. But all games has the (fast) kart + Formula part to be more challenging than supercars.

I awaited GT1 from November '97, I bought every US released title at launch, and each one doesn't REALLY seem like anything new, but the same GT just expanded or improved graphically.

It's like they've been trying to get GT1 right for almost 20 years now.

This feeling I have seems to bear fruit considering nothing really breakthrough on the 'real world non-race car' list since 2005. PD seemed to have essentially recycled, rehashed, and sold the same title from the '90s 5 times now.

After GT5 & then GT6, 'Fool me once...' entered my mind. I will not be a launch day purchaser for whatever comes next.

Really hate to say it, but it looks like excuse maker has now become PD's reputation.

GT? has to literally be a whole new experience with a vast selection of new contemporary real world non-race cars, not to mention a sizable list of other things.

The GT car collecting/grinding formula from the '90s has run long in tooth. Especially when all the cars are (literally in some instances *standards*) the same cars collected in successive titles now.

How many times can you collect the same cars from the PS2 and it be considered new?

I don't revere/hold Kaz as some visionary or breakthrough thinker or any of that other idolatry handed out about the guy.

Essentially what people want out of a driving/racing/car simulator is just that...A simulated experience of the real driving/racing/car world.

It doesn't take great vision to see that a detailed replication of the real world racing/track/car experience is desirable by purchasers of GT. In order to facilitate that, copy/convey all the experiences and interactions of what happens at races, track days or the whole SEMA scene into the digital realm of GT.

This isn't revolutionary discovery here.

PD seems to be understaffed as far as anybody knows. This is where Kaz could earn his check and some accolades.

Successful management/running of a business isn't the same thing as being the head "visionary" in charge.

Kaz, PD... I'm afraid you have to bring the goods or it's Sayōnara. You have spent ALL of your excuses.

Cant believe I said this but:

Kaz is horibble at delivering information. Its been a MONTH since last update. The subforum is desserted. Never knew that outside the online racing, the last post is an hour ago, for the whole subforum! The only exciting thing is that GT to PC petition. Pd cant deliver much content, let alone delivering to PC which has less probability than having a trip to the sun.

Bloddy hell. Forza Horizon got TWO updates, Driveclub also has TWO. All GT has is an soon cards.

^ Let's face it the franchise is stale, dated and IMO slowly dying. There's enough good and competent competition in the racing game world nowadays so people can experience what they desire elsewhere, instead of the old days when everyone that owned a console had to wait years on end for the PD Easter bunny.

The only ones that don't seem to realize that are PD themselves...

It is true PD do not care about other developers and do their own thing. But may be when they feel they are losing on them they will care more. Pcars is a good example and Forza6 is releasing this year with night and weather but there it is limited to few tracks and not dynamic. GT7 will come with more features and do things better than the these games I am sure.

Highly doubt it, considering the last 18 years as anything to go by on PD's innovative progres

Project CARS is so buggy for me that I'm gonna have to come back to GT6...the horror...

:ill:

Buggy PCARS career mode is still better than GT6's.
You might need this. Consider it a gift:tup:

I disagree entirely. Anyway, I wouldn't be going back to GT6's career mode *shudders* I'd be going back to GT6's online lobbies.

:P

So looks like GT is dead in the water! No news, updates or anythinh in relation to its course maker for months now.

What a shame while the series lasted.

'Dead in the water'

Riiiiight, ok.
Other than dribbling out a VGT here and there, the game has run it's course, same as most games after 18 months. If new and exciting turns you on, and it does most of us, you have to look elsewhere for your racing fix.

Except this is different because A. Its Gran Turismo which is the game we accustomed with its 3-5 years release and B. There is still COURSE MAKER left hanging.

There is still COURSE MAKER left hanging.

There's still the course maker and the GPS addon left, technically.

Frankly, I don't see there being any real chance at this point that it will be anything like what they originally described, even if we do actually get it. What we'll get will be a cut back version that barely meets the minimum requirements for what they described in their promotional material. Because at this point the vast majority of purchasers have stopped playing, and only the hardcore are left. The hardcore who will buy GT7 even if the course maker never comes out.

There's very little value to PD in releasing the course maker for GT6 at this point, as far as I can see. Joe Public has long since given up and moved on to playing other things. They're not going to get more profits out of the game at this point, because it's already at bargain basement prices. They're not going to generate much goodwill among release purchasers, because no matter how great it is, it comes with the tag "had to wait 18+ months for it".

Whatever PD does with GT6 at this point, they're not going to be praised for it. It's gone horribly wrong, and possibly the best thing they could do is just let it die.

GT6 doesn't have 3-5 years of life in it. Course maker may help, but GT6 was never anywhere near as popular as GT5 (or even Prologue) to begin with, nevermind 18 months later.

I think people will come flooding back to GT6 when/If the Course maker is added. The none presences of the course maker, is the Only reason people have stopped playing.

You're basically saying that the only reason people would keep playing the game is for the course maker, that there's nothing else in the game that interests them.

That's not a good sign.

CM will be a good addition, but CM without a event creator to go with it is kind of pointless imo, at least PD should make all options available in arcade mode so that we can setup races with the cars & tracks we want.
The main reason I don't play GT6 anymore is the lack of offline races, CM alone won't fix that, replay value is very limited when there's nothing to do offline other than time trial.

Forgot course maker.

If they want to win ours back I suggest new cars like P1, etc.

Atleast right now my friends agreed to go back into GT6 I presume for a very limited time, then desserted again.
