Jesus H Christ, are T10 giving PD their finger or what?!

http://www.forzamotorsport.net/en-US/news/FM5_Forza_Showroom_final

For having 1000 cars less and having less cars than theyve had in any of their series?

Oh, so suddenly no one cares about the E30 M3, E36 M3, McLaren P1, Koenigsegg Agera, or Ferrari F12? And how about those classic F1 cars, not very impressive either right?

Seriously, you have to admit that they have a far more diverse and interesting car roster.

Its not that no one cares about those cars, the BMWs can be a hit or miss, the biggest omissions are the hyper cars, but like Forza are offering the La Ferrari DLC (day one thieving) No doubt PD will bring those cars to GT6 with DLC.

Also day one DLC is the lowest trick of the modern age, if its ready to go as DLC day one its ready to go into the game, its all about squeezing out every last cent from the gullible

@Strittan Not everyone cares about the same machines you care about.
Of course not, but I think it's funny how a list of 200 cars has more diversity, and covers more historically significant cars, legendary if you will, than a list of nearly twice as many cars (counting the premiums in GT6 only)

@Strittan Bah humbug. We still have them. And plenty of historic premium cars as well.

P.S. I thought this was supposed to be a GT6 only thread.

So it looks like we still have to get paint chips from cars:

Really, PD? Really?
Where did it state you have to get paint chip from cars? It didn't occur to you that, that comment was retaining to paints specific to certain cars?Hence "in addition".Or in other words, the paint shop already has paints but you will still get special paints from cars you acquire and win from seasonal events. For example I doubt the paint shop has the metallic flat grey color from the sls, and the only way to get that color would be to buy that car.I personally don't have a problem with that, but I can understand wanting all paint chips from the start.

Something I consider despicably stupid is having day one DLC. Why the hell do you hold this back from the disc to make you pay for something that should already be on the disc?

It's a good question. Considering PD plans on having monthly car and track DLC from the get-go, it's probably a question we should be asking both companies.

Heh. The Funny thing is the sheep are fine with it anyway...

We'll have to come back to this post when GT6's pre-planned first DLC pack drops...

Now guys, before this turns into a couple pages of FM versus GT discussion; we've got a handy thread for that already.

You've misread that. The 'addition' is the latter part of the setence, "in the future there will also be special paint items that will be distributed in online events". There is no mention of outright buying paints. All it says, written in a slightly different way, is you can get paint chips from cars you buy and in addition to that we'll send you some as well.

The fact paint chips exist as the ONLY way to paint your cars is incredibly pathetic for a game in 2013 in the first place. Still having to buy a car to get the colour you want is painfully ludicrous.

A list with quantity doesn't always equal a list with quality. The sim I currently anticipate the most will launch with only 35 cars in the first version. I think it wouldn't be as much of a bad thing, as people are viewing it, if Polyphony removed the older cars and the list began anew.

@warp9engage PD should have done this for GT6, seeing the number of premium cars present this time. But strangely they didn't. By GT7 they might rebuild the entire car list like in GT3.

I can totally understand why PD didn't do it for GT6 though; it's on PS3. Moving to a new system, requiring new, higher-quality assets is one thing, but how hard of a sell would it be for GT6 to be on a shelf beside GT5 XL (which would be a third of the price) if GT6 had only about a third of the cars?

...and yeah, stay here for W&C - it's in the name :P

Hmm I didn't read it like that because I assumed they meant in addition to what we see on the screen which is paints for sale in the paint shop.Well we will see in due time, needless to say I hope your wrong haha.

But that would be 'In addition to the paint available for sale'.

I want to be wrong but I fear I'm not.

While Forza 5's list is pretty great and features quite a few cars GT should have, I still wouldn't say it's more diverse than GT6's. I'd say GT is still the king when it comes to diversity when speaking about types of cars.

Raced GT5 for the first time in over a year today. My, these thumbsticks are awful for racing. Anyone know of a controller with stiffer thumbsticks? Something with more resistance?

Prepare yourself. The wheel-or-nothing brigade approaches ;)

#DS3Masterrace :sly:

@SlipZtrEm I agree, I personally don't care but I would prefer them to stay here for now, I want to keep my Ruf BTRs and various other machines that happen to be from the PS2 era.

Ok, diversity is the wrong word perhaps, but T10 clearly concentrate on cars that they know car nuts around the world want in a racing game, and no duplicates! If only PD could get rid of duplicates it would instantly make the game better in my opinion.

Shame i got kinda used to it afterwards, but i still remember playing FM4 for the first time, and feelings of joy that overcame me when i saw the old beemers, the porsches and the classic racecars.

The lineup of FM4 was what i always wanted to see in GT (matter of personal preference i know).

well, duplicates have also a good side. Just try to see it from the side of a developer.

We will get the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am ’78 most probably only because that thing:

i1owDkdbk4pkvW.jpg

has won the SEMA award. Its a Camaro but it uses many similar parts. Why not use it as base to model the Trans Am too? So you get 2 cars in like 9 month of working time, instead of 2 cars in 12 month. If they do this twice they have 4 cars and enough time saved to make another one from scratch. Sure we have a bit less verity but a much bigger car park which is not a bad thing.
You have to be kidding me. Even if they did use that Camaro as a base (which I highly doubt), the only thing that'd be left of it before turning it to the much newer Firebird, would be the doors, so they'd hardly save any time doing so anyway. It's not even remotely close to being a duplicate.
