@fredyellowone while I agree with most of your post above, the car list will never please everyone, unless of course it includes every single car of note ever made, which would number in the many thousands. What would please the vast majority IMO, is 1200 meaningful cars, devoid of silly duplicates, that pays homage to the history of motor racing, iconic street cars of the past, and the current generations of cars from everyday beaters to supercars and race cars. Particular attention should be paid to iconic series as well, GT3, GT2, Aussie V8's, GT300/500, DTM, LMP etc. with each series chosen for the game represented with at least a half a dozen premium models of the same generation. I expect GT7 will present a dramatic drop in car count, I just hope they get it right.

@Johnnypenso I agree with : "What would please the vast majority IMO, is 1200 meaningful cars, devoid of silly duplicates, that pays homage to the history of motor racing, iconic street cars of the past, and the current generations of cars from everyday beaters to supercars and race cars."

Yet, GT6 car lineup is miles away from this. They just added a Trans-Am. It's one prime example of a car that should been there Ages ago. Edit : Yes Ages with capital letters. Very relevant.

It is miles from this...hence why everyone seems awfully bitter at the new car lineup and lineup in it's entirety:lol:

Definitely not bitter here. I never even look at the lists, but then I benefit from having scarcely any interest in cars. It's really quite handy actually. I'll just play the game and find what appeals as I go, without any preconceived hopes or fears.

Who would have thought that disinterest could be so interesting?

1- Yep, GT6, is going to be GT4.2, or GT5.1 if you prefer.
2- Nothing that Kaz may say, or not, is having any value.

One example of this :

Week 1 : track creator : 10 000 km2
Week 2 : track creator : 50 x 50 km
Week 3 : track creator : might be 20 x 20 km finally.
Week 4 : track creator : delayed.

Do I need to post here each and every feature being announced for GT5, and being stripped down of the final game?

But all of this wouldn't matter if the game did right certain key areas.

The sad part: It is true, just like this. :(

I swear, there is only two forums in the Whole Wide Web that are closing threads for any reason they see fit, mostly to keep the negative comments out of bay. One of those forums is here, of course; and the other one belongs to Double Helix's killer instinct.

So, one guy opened a thread along the lines of "what is your biggest disappointment so far". Every answer was polite and respectful. And then, BAM, a moderator shows up, say something like "How can you judge a game that is not out yet", and he closed the thread.

Such a behavior is unacceptable, plainly wrong, and completely fallacious.

The 2015 Ford Focus is not out yet. I can't go see it anywhere right now. Same thing for the new LG washing machine that will be out in the market only in a few months. But in those two cases, I don't have to see them with my own eyes. There is enough information on those two products that I can make my decision.

With GT6, it's the same thing. Do I have to wait for the final release to figure out that there won't be any livery editor? That there won't be Porsches? That the course editor is delayed? That the car list is, in my humble opinion, abysmal?

NO, I FREAKING DON'T.

My answer to the thread about the eco challenge: Option 4 - I would rather watch a mop dry.

I post this here in order to avoid spoiling the excitement of those who are so looking forward to the "challenge" of coastng at 20kph.

The new corvette is out.

Out and proud!

So it looks like we still have to get paint chips from cars:

Really, PD? Really?
I was too severely let down while reading that. At least you can now finally preview the end result on the car (praise the Lord!). Whoever made the paint chip system for GT5 must've been colour blind.

I'm not even surprised anymore. If anything, I'm somewhat pleasantly surprised that they didn't make it worse somehow. They could have made you use the DS3 as a scraper to scrape all the paint off the car, then put it in a bucket with some solvent and stir for an hour by twirling the thumb sticks, then spray it on yourself with the triggers and blowing into the microphone.

And still some people would have hailed them for being "MOAR REALISTICK, YO".

PD never did anything easy if they could do it ass backwards first.

GT6 gets stars...that move...in the sky!

Forza5 gets a load of marketing spiel. Just because they say AI learns from the community it doesnt actually mean they will or if it will actually work, We have heard it all before with Konami and EA and how the their footy games AI will learn how you play etc, I have never witnessed this to be true

I'm not claiming superiority (although, I have to admit that the marketing is swaying me). However, so far its a little disappointing to hear what the "features" of GT6 are given they've had three years to improve the game. It just seems very warmed over. On the AI front, the AI has been a complaint for a long time in GT and there is no word of any improvement. While on the Forza side, they are addressing it.

It appears that the folks at Turn10 are listening to the GT community more than PD are. However, if someone can dig up the thread where the community is complaining about the static nature of stars at night, I will stand corrected :).

This really makes me wonder what the whole purpose of this is:

Something tells me the paint shop above will just be a place that stores paint chips you acquired throughout the course of the game, so you can simply buy them again.

I really hope I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure the 5k is the cost of painting. The website makes no mention of buying them like it does race suits.

Also I note they still have lots of similar or different shades with similar/the same name. 'Silver Metallic' and 'METALLIC silver'.

I suppose the version in capitals is a more aggressive shade.

Well since a mod closed yet another thread (yet there are 38 pages of fanboy fluff) I'll post my concerns here. This is not whining or complaining. I am a potential paying customer that has concerns that I would like to see addressed before I buy the game.

No word on if the AI is improved.
No info on AI customization such as difficulty and aggressiveness options.
No course maker on release.
No info on if any improvements have been made for better online racing experience. (reduced lag)
No word on if making ovals is possible with the new course maker.
No random or fully customizable event creator.
No word on being able to tune each corner of the car for oval racing. (This could be an "advanced" option).
No new oval tracks.
What have they done to reduce all of the micro managing that was in GT5.
Why no love for drag and drifting racers?
Moon Rover <---- Really?

For the rest of you posting here don't let anyone make you think that you are whining, complaining or negative. That is just a ridiculous assumption from the brainwashed masses. This is an open forum where people gather to discuss. Just remember that it is the squeaky wheel that gets the oil and that there can be no forward motion without friction. We are the ones that affect change!

Paint chips again, huh? What is the goddamn point, PD?

It's as if they actually want to make it as annoying and unrealistic as possible. Or maybe that's how it works in real life Japan? Buying a car with a colour you like, then head to the paint shop with two of your cars, going; "I want the colour on this GT-R, to be painted on this Miata" and the painter goes; "Sure! But remember, if you get a scratch or anything on that Miata, you have to get another one of those GT-R's before we can paint it the same colour again"

Well now, this is certainly new. I don't think I've been accused of trying to silence criticisms yet.

I just noticed the info line for the Reventon along the bottom. It's wrong. The Reventon WAS the most expensive Lamborghini ever, until they made the Veneno.

Come on PD, at least get somewhat current.

A car that was released to the media like what, a week ago?

Give them a chance...

Or 8 months ago, though admittedly the Vaneno Roadster is even pricier. Point is, the Reventon lost that title a while ago.

My bad, just did a quick google search and all the articles seemed to be either a few hours old or a few days.

Oh well, who cares, a small mistake like that doesn't affect gameplay whatsoever.

Reading these forums makes me yearn for that time in my life when I was a wee little lad and to young to know wether a video game was good or bad. I played every single videogame I could get my hands on (including dem Playstation Demo Discs!) front to back, not caring for bad game design or wrong choices, simply because I didn't see it. Controls weren't broken, the game was just difficult, so to speak. Same with rubberbanding, grinding, or illogical paintchip systems. It was all just difficult in my eyes, and I didn't care about it! I am definitely going to enjoy GT6 as much as possible, but I doubt I will enjoy as much as those games I got when I first started playing on my first Playstation.

Oh, Total Drivin', how I yearn for thee even though in retrospect you were a complete turd of a game!

You guys love to make specualtions huh? PD didn't say there will be paint chips at all.

I guess you didn't read the information on the official GT website. Pain chips are back for GT6, just like most of what we didn't like about GT5. And no I didn't misspell paint.
