Well it seems like you can buy paint chips over and over again, which is a nice compromise. Kind of a good bridge between collecting and being annoyingly hard to obtain multiple times.

You guys love to make specualtions huh? PD didn't say there will be paint chips at all.
IIRC it is in the description of the EU or Aussie Collectors edition that you will get special paint chips with it. Maybe its just me but that confirms the infernal paint chips.

So basically buy a certain car for said paint chip, and it adds to your collection to keep but to purchase whenever you want? Not bad I guess kinda.

I have no idea why you presume I'm talking about you. Because I am not.

It was a joke, after the more usual accusations that some members of staff are too critical.

Fact is, we tend to only close threads if they're a duplicate topic, or have veered wildly off the path into inappropriateness 👍

How many stars do you think Kaz received for the Nurburgring 24h? Seriously, I thought Kaz being heavily involved in the racing scene (plus GT Academy) would translate to a more "authentic" experience.
Somebody needs to ask him this so maybe he'll realise how lacking gt is now and needs bring up to scratch

Reading these forums makes me yearn for that time in my life when I was a wee little lad and too young too know wether a video game was good or bad. I played every single videogame I could get my hands on (including dem Playstation Demo Discs!) front to back, not caring for bad game design or wrong choices, simply because I didn't see it. Controls weren't broken, the game was just difficult, so to speak. Same with rubberbanding, grinding, or illogical systems. It was all just difficult in my eyes, and I didn't care about it! I am definitely going to enjoy GT6 as much as possible, but I doubt I will enjoy as much as those games I got when I first started playing on my first Playstation.

Oh, Total Drivin', how I yearn for thee even though in retrospect you were a complete turd of a game!
Tell me about it! I remember watching my uncle doing license tests in GT1 for the first time, thinking; "This is the business!"

Oh, how I wish they'd release GT1 as a PS One classic on PSN!

From what I can tell, yeah. In those screenshots of the Jaguar in the paint shop, I wouldn't see a reason to list all the paint names if they weren't going to come from a car first, since they could have just given us a paint slider and RGB system.
But I don't mind this new system too much, because now you don't have to annoyingly duplicate chrome and matte colours any more, but it still feels kind of exclusive if you do have these colours (or others).

Agreed. In GT5 that was so annoying. Glad that's over.

Is it over? Please point to where it says paint chips are reusable.

I haven't seen it either - actually, from what I can tell, even if they are reusable, we still have to buy a car in the example paint chip to gain access to it. So you'd still have to buy 20 LFA's to have access to its full catalog.

Sure, if we have infinite uses for them, then it is an improvement. But talk about baby-steps...

What I was originally thinking. Is when you purchase a car for its paint, it would be added to your collection to keep and use it by buying it for use. It could end up like in GT5 though.

So, one guy opened a thread along the lines of "what is your biggest disappointment so far". Every answer was polite and respectful. And then, BAM, a moderator shows up, say something like "How can you judge a game that is not out yet", and he closed the thread.

Such a behavior is unacceptable, plainly wrong, and completely fallacious.

Because we already had a so-called "disappointment thread". We're stepping in it right now.

- Unacceptable? The moderation staff decides what's acceptable.
- Plain wrong? No, duplicate threads aren't necessary.
- Fallacious? Would the very idea of a thread based on hearsay be a bit of fallacy?

Welcome to GTPlanet. Just because other boards do not close threads doesn't make them good.

In the spirit of the thread, I feel the lunar rover might be jumping the shark, although I guess once you've jumped the atmosphere and achieved escape velocity...

I'm not exactly "whining" about this, but it is a bit of a bummer that we may not even see the DeltaWing at all in the final game at all. To be fair, I don't believe it's Poly's fault for why this is happening, because if there were legal issues for this car, then wouldn't it have not been featured at all even prior to the E3 builds? The fact that NOW there's legal or other problems with the car being in the game just doesn't make sense to me.

I hate that they removed the Top Gear Test Track, I'm a big fan of the show and it was one of the reasons I bought GT5.

I imagined that this morely had to do with Polyphony losing the rights to use the track, especially since Top Gear has been incredibly Forza happy as of late, since Forza tends to be MASSIVELY promoting them to the point of obscurity.

While I think the new star simulation looks right pretty, I can't help but think PD are pushing resources (both man power in programming and PS3 computing power) in the wrong direction. It is a pretty game, but because of the boundaries being pushed we are more likely to see frame rates dropping, which in a racing game is really not good. Leave some of the visual effects for next gen, and make sure it runs at a bulletproof 60fps.

Besides, surely the things most important in a racing simulation are things like rubber build up on tracks that effects grip, wet/dry lines, engine swaps, improved sounds (both engine and ambient like rubber pelting the bottom of the car, gear whine), improved modifications and race prep of vehicles. That's what I want to pay for.

I see a bunch of cars GT6 will have. I see a bunch of cars that GT6 doesn't have, but I also see a lot of cars missing that GT6 has.

Your point?
Oh, so suddenly no one cares about the E30 M3, E36 M3, McLaren P1, Koenigsegg Agera, or Ferrari F12? And how about those classic F1 cars, not very impressive either right?

Seriously, you have to admit that they have a far more diverse and interesting car roster.

I'm ok with their list. They didn't get the Toyota TS030.

Come on, PD! Toyota is japanese, after all.

For me, the best entry on that list is the Maseratti Gran Turismo. We won't see any car named Forza Motorsport ever!

But do they have a lunar rover?
Didn't think so.

 on a more serious note, I agree with what you're saying; I've always wanted a more diverse list. A few of the newest super cars, a bunch of real street cars(the ones that cost less than $300,000), some SUV's, trucks, Pre-WWII cars, and more American muscle cars(which was a strong push this go-around 👍 ).
In my opinion, in a game like this, I don't think it's necessary to have all of the new super hyper cars only 50 people can buy. GT has always been a game about car appreciation, in a way. Nearly all of the(street legal) cars you can and will see on the road.
