The GT6 Epic Whining and Crying Thread

I said before PD had not reached PS3 full potential, and now it's confirmed.

I can see a lot of frustration from people who want it on PS4, only to have an excuse to buy one. I'm happy PD release GT6 on PS3, because they can make it the right way now, pushing the PS3 hardware in regards to graphics, and improved physics, to the extent GT5 needed to be from the begining.

What if there will be standards again? I play it to drive, not to get astonished to the beauty of the dashboards. Physics and AI is where PD needs to improve a lot, and I'm sure they going to make it better than GT5. At least in regards with physics, Kaz said there will be improvements. We will see in which degree, and if AI will be revamped too.

It's a GT 5.5 in some way? I think yes, it will be, but a good upgrade I think.

For those who want the ultimate sim racing game, with latest high end graphics and physics, all premiums, etc., buy a high end PC instead a PS4, suscribe to iRacing, and get fun. Whining over speculations about a game which has not been released yet and no gameplay has been shown is childish.

Still we probably will only get the distance to the leader, instead of how far the guy directly in front or behind you is. Polyphony Digital.

500,000 polygons - GT5 Photo Travel cars

1,000,000~ polygons - Forza 4 Auto Vista cars

You forgot to mention there are only 24 Autovista cars. Against 300-400ish premium cars in GT5.

I'm not going to comment the rest of your post.

Wow, a whole group of people who have nothing better to do than to complain about problems with a game which has only been announced today by means of one video and a short presentation.

Talk about pessimism.

I thought all cars in Forza were "premium", as all of them have a detailed cockpit view.

KinLM, Pessimism is more realistic than blind optimism.

7 tracks and a handful of cars is not a lot from 3-4 years of development, and many features have been worded oh so carefully, just as they were in the years running up to GT5's release, and look how the final product looked in comparison to it's early expectations.

The GT series is well known for falling short on it's words and expectations, the pessimism is understandable.

Yauma9, your posts are clutching at straws. "You can make an oval in GT5" etc... please dude, be serious. That's the kind of words Kaz pumped out in the lead up to GT5. Your definition of an oval is different to most people's.

If you think it's going to suck so badly, then you're going to have a negative outlook on everything in the game when it comes out.

I understand people's doubts, but this much pessimism on this little info is absolutely absurd.

Ugly, unknown, openwheel car

Really? Unknown by you perhaps, a lot would've immediately recognized this Gordon Murray-designed (yes, the guy who did the McLaren F1) motorcycle-engined tandem seated little gem.

KinLm, forgive me for wanting a full product on release day, rather than paying full price, and then paying an additional amount for the rest of the content in mini installments later on.

I'm viewing this as GT5.5 as opposed to GT6, there's a lot more that PD could have done, you only need to look elsewhere to know that.

The reason why I am more pessimistic about the GT series is because it started off as an industry leader that many people used as a measuring bar. These days, the GT series is looking up at the measuring bar from underneath and not stretching enough to reach it, in my opinion. I know that PD is capable of building one of the best games/simulators, but they are slow to update their product, and I don't mean in terms of release dates, but in terms of content and experience with each release, the step ups are too small.

Wow, it's GT5 all over again. Even when we have threads where there's obviously going to be complaining, we're still going to have people coming in here to criticize complainers for whatever reason. If you don't want to see pessimism, there's a thread that's the exact opposite of this.

Don't see what difference someone's attitude makes. I had a very positive attitude about GT5 before it came out, but I still wound up being greatly disappointed as my time with the game went on.

Wow, I never knew. Good to know.

You don't understand my point.

Forza may have more "premium" cars but they're not as good as the premiums in GT. And while Autovista may be the best you can find today, there's.. 20 something of them? .

This thread is a fabulous place to lodge complaints. In retrospect the press conference was typically PD vague, rife with some visual goodies and not many details that can or cannot be fulfilled.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the physics. Quite frankly that's the main area I care about. I'm very interested to see what Forza will show. Hopefully soon with that.

Certain cars in Forza are not as good as certain Premiums in GT5. You can't make any statements for the quality of the models in either game beyond that. Not every GT5 Premium is as detailed as the F40, and not every FM4 car is as bad as the Corvette Grand Sport. Each game has standout models and each game has models that aren't up to snuff with the average.

the 1200+ cars announcement made my heart lurch a bit. I am a little doubtful that there will be 1200 fully detailed cars, so I guess we might have standards :indiff:

There's still time from now until its release plus (hopefully, not certain) updates to change this.

Game's gonna suck because it still has standard cars and not enough premium cars. A little over 400 HD, current-gen models isn't good enough nowadays. The bar has been raised.

Of course, this is assuming most of the standard models are still standard models. If not, I'll happily eat my words. I'm almost sure that's not going to happen, though.

So, if I use the autovista cars IN autovista events, thats considered premium. Main game play, not so premium? I could not tell the difference. Thought autovista was just to explore the cars for fun.

GT6 = refined version of GT5. No improved graphics, just HDR lighting.

Standard cars carried from GT5 to GT6? Yes....

Pikes Peak confirm? Don't know..

Day/light cycle option for all tracks? Not confirmed!

Updated damage modelling? Highly doubt it!

If this is what the reaction is like after the reveal trailer, just imagine what it would be like after likes of E3, Gamescon & Tokyo Game Show. This forum would probably explode full of complaints. Ah well, it still doesn't affect me. I'm really looking forward to the release of this game :) And about the premium/standard thing, they haven't said anything about premium and standard cars? So why do people jump the gun and assume it will be true. All you can do is wait until confirmation. Complaining about it now when nothing about it has been revealed yet is just a bit pointless.

Yes! :)

You really don't listen much do you?

I give up, go ahead and celebrate since it's pretty obvious that you're going to ignore anything I tell you with mounds of sarcasm and immaturity.

We need popcorn while watching some people rage after those event.

Wings have questionable usefulness so they're just eye candy.

In what way? Wings are super underpowered in GT (and in nearly every game I've seen them in). "Thousands of wings" could be as revolutionary as Forza's tire model for GT. It is one of the most exciting things I've heard from PD in a long time.

Love the title of this thread. Priceless

As I pointed out earlier, the thread title is an homage to the thread of a similar title about GT5 before it was released.

Here is that thread. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=128316

I actually got an infraction for a spoof post I put in that thread. Some people didn't see the humor. :dunce: I guess I should have said it's just a joke when I posted it. But lesson learned.

No need for quotation marks. There is no such feebleminded thing as Premium or Standard in FM. However, it all boils down to consistency over shiny graphics and quantity, which has been a major concern with GT5. And as it looks now, with 1200 cars from the get-go, we are most likely in for the very same ride.

I won't mind them as long as they are greatly revamped and enjoy the same features as Premiums.
But if that isn't the case...

Nice to see the recycled HUD ... yet again. Yep. No updates to the HUD at all. Still we probably will only get the distance to the leader, instead of how far the guy directly in front or behind you is. Polyphony Digital. Hey, they are a green company! They are a worldwide leader in recycling!
Perhaps it's not your best day, but we can't see at all if this will be the case.
And I do see changes, but really, what do you actually want?

500,000 polygons - GT5 Photo Travel cars

1,000,000~ polygons - Forza 4 Auto Vista cars
Ah yeah? They do look better you say?

Sorry Im not a purist that gets excited after seeing a Alpine whatever.

Polyphony Digital has missed the boat. It has set sail long ago. They have not learned their lesson. They are far too arrogant for that. Bad sound? No they dont have bad sound you just have bad ears. Their sound is too realistic.
Did they say anything about sound? I must've missed this.
Boring car list? No your just a Need For Speed junkie who cant appreciate the subtle beauty of an econo box. Too many imports? Its a Japanese game. Nevermind Turn 10 is American but their car list isnt 65% domestic.
Forza's car selection is more biased than GT's...

Standard cars? Pretty much confirms awful crash damage again. Its also a lame, LAME way to cover up their pathetic number of "premium" models. Cant release a game with 400 premiums when an old Forza game has 600 cars with twice the polygons.
Did we see any standard cars? Did they say anything about standards?

When it wasnt all about bowing down to the mighty dollar. The days when it was about pushing the limits, and earning sales and money from tearing down seemingly impassable barriers with new ways to play and enjoy games.
They're not pushing the PS3s limits?

This new games generation will be about as watered down as it gets. Call of Duty has set the precedent, and all others are following into their footsteps. The problem is, this trail, while comfy, also leads directly off a cliff. The crash of the game industry due to quick cash being put ahead of innovation and advancement in entertainment.
