A lot of people seem to think that not releasing on PS4 is a bad business decision, this is totally wrong. Sony has sold over 70 million PS3's world wide at this point so the install base is massive, PD knows this. It would actually be a worse decision to release on PS4 considering how many units will be available world wide at launch. The number of GT6 units PD would be looking to sell within their first year would probably far out weigh the amount of PS4's that could be manufactured world wide within that time.

When you look at it that way, it makes perfect business sense to release on PS3 instead.

Nicely said. A lot of people forget about that aspect.

You are wrong.

Now, as mentioned earlier, take it to the proper thread, where something very similar was claimed (and disproved) just the other day.
I see forzaplanet as a separate forum, sorry.

Then congratulations, that's two things you're wrong about.

This isn't a thread for FM vs GT bickering, because we have ones for that. You can ignore them if you want, but you won't turn this thread into one.

Since it's already over, surely not.

And because forzaplanet originally had it's own adress and wasn't included in GTP, has it's own design and name (although now it's under the gtp adress), it's not hardly surprising that someone like me might see it as a separate thing.

But it's alright, let's go on with the actual topic. No problem.

You really don't listen much do you?

I give up, go ahead and celebrate since it's pretty obvious that you're going to ignore anything I tell you with mounds of sarcasm and immaturity.

I was not using a mounds of sarcasm and immaturity. I was actually asking a question and asking for clarification. I guess you're explanation went over my head. Sorry.

Wow, it's GT5 all over again. Even when we have threads where there's obviously going to be complaining, we're still going to have people coming in here to criticize complainers for whatever reason. If you don't want to see pessimism, there's a thread that's the exact opposite of this.

Haha, you beat me to it. It's a funny double standard around here. It's probably best to just sit back and let them anti-whine. At least the site gets great news updates though. *shrug*

I mentioned this in the main news thread but it got lost because of the purty graphic updates, but was there anything at all about "human drama" as Kaz mentioned awhile back?

And yes, they may be saving that for E3, I'm just wondering.

The announced features sound good (except the standard cars).

But what's missing has me worried: No livery editor? Are we still never going to be able to customize our cars to this degree? (especially when PD proudly display liveries on the race mods)

I hope they didn't really limit the new customization on aero parts and rims.

:indiff:

Does anyone know how many new tracks GT4 had over GT3? It felt like a lot more than 7, but I'd like to know for certain before I really judge how I feel about only 7 new tracks being added from 5 to 6.

Edit: Looked most of them up:

Citta di aria
New York
2 Paris tracks
Hong Kong
Seoul
Nurburgring
El Capitan
Costa Di Almafi(?)
Fuji (3 variations or so)
Infineon (2 variations)
Twin Ring Motegi (3 variations at least)
All those Rally tracks
The Vegas Drag Strip.

That's 12, not counting the variations and all the rally tracks I left off such as Grand Canyon.

Hopefully the non-haters now could see why only 7 new might be a tad disappointing?

But of course, I'll reserve judgement til E3, or until we know a lot more.

It seems they expanded the rims and the wings very well, but that's all they mentioned today. I know there's E3 and other gaming conventions, but if we're in 2013, 6 full-numbered GT titles into this series, and we still can't put a stripe on our cars, then there's an inherent problem with Kazunori. Well, we know there already is.:dunce:

I'll remain (very) cautiously optimistic.

I hear you man. Probably there will be more information released soon. Can't wait to see the video Jordan is uploading soon. Actual game play footage

So much whining. I'd say if you don't like it don't buy it and if you do like it then don;t whine about it. No game is ever going to make everyone happy and a few of the things I see people whining about are just out there. Sure there were some things I would have liked to have been different in GT5 as well as GT4 and Forza 2,3,4 and every NFS title yet I know that you can't have it all in any of them.

I guess we could have a better version of GT6 on the PS4 if we would rather wait for 5 years to get it and also have included in it tons of stuff that a few people whine about but most don;t care about but then they would be whining that it took too long to be released or that it is not for the PS6 or that this one car they really like is not included or one brand of tire or that you can't swap in a rocket engine and add wings to it.

Personally I like what I heard today and will be pre-ordering the game in the next few months and am sure it will not have everything I want but am also sure that I will enjoy playing it and get my moneys worth and then some from it.

Its the same garbage all over again. Analogue fuel meter. No display of gaps between all the cars, no display of tire temps.

Wasn't fuel meter in GT5 digital-like? :odd: and again YOU DON'T KNOW all you've seen is a trailer and some screen caps.

The current menu system is still in "prototype" stage. 5 months from launch and the menus arent even finished.

It could very well be 90% finished.

If theres 1200 premium models Im preordering the game in full tomorrow. But theres not.

Good for you. 👍

GT6 is not impressive, at all. They claim they made the physics better, but outside of extra visible body roll in a corner its impossible to tell if the improvement is substantial or not.

Yeah becuase you've obviously played GT6. :dunce:

I, I made the prediction of the downfall of Final Fantasy long before #13 was released. I will say this now, Polyphony Digital has sealed their fate with Gran Turismo 6. Oh, there will be a Gran Turismo 7 on PS4. But not enough will buy it to cover its cost in 2018. At that time most will have moved on to Forza or elsewhere, thats if the PS4 is still around at that point.

I'm so screen capping this..

First of all, nobody said those games are better than GT5.

When did I ever say that? Did I let something slip? I only stated the amount of cars in the games, I didn't say anything was better.

Second of all, the existence of those games doesn't mean that we can't complain about GT5's car list.

Those are all racing games. If you like the abundance of Forza's or pCARS' car roster, you can head there. If it doesn't suit your fancy, avoid it.

It actually sounds good for another hype starter for the E3 event. They need to keep certain things secret for the E3. *pray* :dopey:

I'm sure there's way more to show than they just did yesterday (uk time).

Thanks Akira! So to me, that's a huge jump in content. It doubled. 19 (or so) new tracks. So my expectations were set way back then. Only 7, by 2013 standards seems low to me.

(Usual disclaimers about waiting for all info)

I think, as I've written elsewhere that it will be less than 7, at least at release, since they've already announced that DLC will come out at a regular pace. I'm thinking they might be doing this do circumvent piracy / PS3 jailbraking or in other words give pirates more incentives to purchase the game.

This is the GT5 car list:

3FE8T4d.png

(note that without DLC tracks it's 26 tracks/locations and 52 layouts/variations)

This is what the GT6 list is looking like:

ZzvFYQW.png

I've added some speculated tracks from plausible information circulating around, and some variations to realisticly reach a total number of 71 layouts.

GT6 is stated to have 33 "locations" ("7 more than GT5") and 71 "layouts" ("19 more than GT5").

If we do some math:

33-7 = 26
71-19 = 52

So they're clearly comparing it against plain GT5, this can't be a coincidence. But wouldn't it be plausible to think that GT5 DLC tracks are included as well? If it's the case, this leaves room for 4 new tracks only.

The best case is that GT5 DLC tracks are not included, and totally new tracks will be instead.

Your statement implied that we should be satisfied with GT5/GT6's (if very few of the standard cars underwent premium conversion) car lists because other racing games have even worse car lists. I don't think we necessarily should be. You can disagree with that and/or call me a spoiled brat, but I won't really care.

Those games have no fans to complain about their car lists for a reason — they suck compared to GT. GT being better than them doesn't impress anyone, which is why they're rarely compared to GT. GT's competition is Forza and pCARS, and those are the games that GT's car lists should be compared to.

Did you even read the thread title?

Just because I think GT5/GT6's (depending on which and how many of the 1,200 cars underwent standard-to-premium conversion) car lists are lacking doesn't mean that I'm going off-topic. This is the complaining thread. If you can't handle complaining and criticism regarding any facet of GT6, avoid it.

I didn't say worse. I only said there were fewer, that's it. NFS: MW 2012 has only 63 (without DLC, I believe) but their roster is pretty impressive. DiRT 3 has about 60 WITH DLC, but it does cover quite a bit of rally history and modern marvels.

I don't think we necessarily should be. You can disagree with that and/or call me a spoiled brat, but I won't really care.

What makes you think that? I'm not that low to name-call. :scared:

That's your opinion. Mine is that I enjoy those games as much as I enjoy GT.

This is a good point. Keep in mind that pCARS isn't quite finished, however. Only time will tell if their roster packs more of a punch.

I also have things to complain about in GT6, but I'm just saying what I think is true. You're not going off-topic at all, that's why you posted in here. I could avoid this if I wanted, but I decided not to. I can handle what other people say, and I respect their opinions.

^Wait, Brands Hatch has been confirmed too? Okay then, I'm really looking forward to GT6 then. Especially if it has SSR11 and Seattle.

It was in a leaflet photographed during today's Silverstone event. I assume that is legitimate information:

Might not be, though. Still awaiting for confirmation.

Yup, this is going to be a long month for me; waiting for E3 to see what else is in GT6. I hope to see more comfirmed cars. The Ferrari Dino, Premium Alpine A110, Premium Countach, and Jaguar XKR-S are a good start though.

OK, sorry for putting words in your mouth. Not that it matters, but I think GT5 (yet alone GT6) towers over those games' car lists. Quantity isn't always better than quality, but in the case of GT5, I feel it holds the advantage in both (200+ premium models).

What makes you think that? I'm not that low to name-call. :scared:

It's common thing for people who criticize the GT series to be accused of having a sense of entitlement. Such thought is absolutely ridiculous considering we pay for said game, but that's a discussion for another thread.

That's your opinion. Mine is that I enjoy those games as much as I enjoy GT.

It's not an opinion, objectively-speaking. GT is a much greater achievement than than those games. I can see someone making the argument that those games are more enjoyable, but anyone who says those games are flat-out better or equal would be wrong (again, objectively-speaking).

I may enjoy reading The Hunger Games more than Fahrenheit 451, but I would never argue that THG is objectively greater than F451.

I also have things to complain about in GT6, but I'm just saying what I think is true. You're not going off-topic at all, that's why you posted in here. I could avoid this if I wanted, but I decided not to. I can handle what other people say, and I respect their opinions.

I know you can. That's great.

But don't give me the "if you like X game better than Y game, go that play that and leave us alone" shtick in a thread that was created for complaining about Y game.

This is the last bullet-by-bullet response I'll be making in response to your posts. Posting in this format tends to cause both of our sets of opinions to become more extreme.

You can have the last word if you would like. And no hard feelings, sorry if I came across as attacking at times.

It's all good, Interpol. Love that band, by the way.

Anyways, by the video Jordan has posted on another thread, the KTM still has a weak sound...uh oh. That kills enthusiasm.
