Reading through at some people saying "oh bringing the standard cars back!", "no new physics engine, tire model!". It is amazing how some of you come up with so many assumptions with absolutely no knowledge on what you are talking about.

They have not confirmed if the standard cars are staying or leaving. Also the physics engine is being remodeled completely. How you some of you come up with your speculation, then get upset about your own personal assumptions is beyond me. It is amazingly funny though. Please keep it up, because I already can't feel my chest from laughing so hard

Standard cars coming back is common sense. I feel sorry for you if you feel there's a glimmer of hope that standard cars won't be in GT6.

Regarding the physics engine, I agree. We will have to wait and play the actual game before making judgements about it.

The only thing I'm going to whine about is that there's so many people trying to have the 'it' thread.

GT6 should be great. The biggest gripe I have is standards should still make up the majority of the content in the game. Hopefully less disparity in quality and features but I think PD knows how botched GT5 was so GT6 won't follow suit. Can't wait!

Didn't say they weren't. Just seems like with their new way of modeling cars (which you see in that 25 minute video from the demonstration at the event), they might not have to have standard cars. I mean all we can do it wait and see. I could care less anyway, just saying why get upset about speculations/assumptions.

I'm reserving my judgement until more info is released, but I'm in the same boat as everyone else who is upset about the lack of information. If GT6 doesn't address all the issues it needs to, my money will be going to PS4 and pCARS. I'm not paying full price for what GT5 should have been from the get-go. Already made that mistake when I bought the Collectors Edition sight unseen on GT5 release.

Didn't say they weren't.

I know you didn't directly write "standard cars aren't coming back", but you did imply that standard cars may not be coming back. That idea in of itself is ridiculous.

Like I said, you're crazy if you think PD may have made some technological breakthrough and figured out a way to render premium models at a 4x greater clip than they used to. The faster you come to grips with that, the more happy with GT6 you will be.

An abundance of standard cars will be in GT6. That's not speculation; it's fact.

I think you are misunderstanding me. I will be happy with it. That's what I was getting at. Anyway.

No.

Just no.
There was somewhere a chart about this topic. Let me search for it... (if search weren't disabled atm :dopey: ).

But I guess you on your side can't go ahead and show me why I'm wrong? Percentages would be nice.

Perhaps it's not your best day, but we can't see at all if this will be the case.
And I do see changes, but really, what do you actually want?

Its the same garbage all over again. Analogue fuel meter. No display of gaps between all the cars, no display of tire temps. Give me 30 minutes and I can think of a much better HUD. That should give you an idea of the time PD puts into the "little things".

The current menu system is still in "prototype" stage. 5 months from launch and the menus arent even finished. Thats how unprofessional PD has become. And people wonder why so many horrible decisions were made for GT5. Because they simply dont spend time to think things out.

Did they say anything about sound? I must've missed this.

Those were pretty much Yamauchi's words in an interview. They think the sound is too real so people dont like it. Maddening.

Did we see any standard cars? Did they say anything about standards?

If theres 1200 premium models Im preordering the game in full tomorrow. But theres not.

They're not pushing the PS3s limits?

The PS3 isnt the latest technology. The PS4, Xbox Infinity is. Even the Wii U smokes the PS3. Some phones have more graphics processing power then the PS3. Im waiting to hear about what sacrifices were made in order for them to overcome the blocky shadows, only 4 headlights shining on the road at night, screen tear, judder, and other problems.

Lets say the next gen consoles were confirmed to release in 2015. At this point it wouldnt matter. GT6 is not impressive, at all. They claim they made the physics better, but outside of extra visible body roll in a corner its impossible to tell if the improvement is substantial or not.

No word on the sound. Knowing arrogant Polyphony Digital, the vacuum cleaners will be back in full force. Its pretty much impossible to get proper damage working on a standard car which is not made of parts, so damage will most likely be very poor again.

Apparently theres only going to be 3-4 new tracks for GT6 if you dont count GT5 DLC courses. And only 140 new premium models?

4 tracks and 140 premium cars after 3 years? Im wondering if thats worse then the yearly Madden roster updates passing themselves off as new games.

If you buy GT6, you're telling Polyphony Digital its OK, that you agree with their work ethic. I certainly do not. They want another 10 million sheep to fund their gross mismanagement of time again. At this poinnt, its time to realize Gran Turismo is the next Final Fantasy. A once mighty and great game franchise now completely in the gutter. What ruined both? Excessive pride, excessive attention to the wrong details (graphics) and ignoring the fanbase, thinking that you somehow know more about what they like then they do themselves.

Wont be long before Polyphony is in a Square Enix like debt of tens of millions. Or I could be completely wrong. Sheep could support them as they do Call of Duty. But that is not the hardcore fanbase. Once you wrong the hardcore fanbase and set your future in the hands of the sheep in wolves clothing, be careful that they do not turn on you and abandon you and leave you at a moments notice...just as many former Square Enix fans have left them in financial ruin.

I, I made the prediction of the downfall of Final Fantasy long before #13 was released. I will say this now, Polyphony Digital has sealed their fate with Gran Turismo 6. Oh, there will be a Gran Turismo 7 on PS4. But not enough will buy it to cover its cost in 2018. At that time most will have moved on to Forza or elsewhere, thats if the PS4 is still around at that point.

A tragic day indeed. Many good things come to end, but its even more devastating when it happens as the result of greed.

I know you're going to be happy with whatever PD feeds you, that's not the point.

Part of your point is that you're upset with people who are complaining about the return of standard cars despite PD not directly saying they will be making a return. My point is that their frustration, whining, and complaining is with merit because GT6 will have standard cars in it. It will have a lot of them. Anyone with common sense can see that.

Those were pretty much Yamauchi's words in an interview. They think the sound is too real so people dont like it. Maddening.

Not this again. That's been explained so many times not that it's absurd that people still use it as a smoking gun.

They claim they made the physics better, but outside of extra visible body roll in a corner its impossible to tell if the improvement is substantial or not.

It's similarly impossible to say that it isn't.

I always found comments like these, as an example, are extremely ridiculous. Some new tracks and possibility of 100+ new cars? (Yes, I see he says premium models but this is just an example), such a thing would be a blessing for other racing games. But no! We must have more! No, we deserve more! Gran Turismo has really spoiled players with their large quantities. Pity.

Yes. What does look good is that PD seems to have realized that there is competition to model themselves after.

We know a ~PS3 spec system can pull off Forza 4, so I think that is a very realistic goal for GT6. What I'm wondering about is if it will exceed Forza by any significant amount.

I honestly can barely bring myself to care about that stuff. The physics overhaul is a new game by itself potentially. GT6 has no shortage of "new".

You wanna know something funny?

I remember a few hours ago when you said "goodbye" and that you were leaving. What happened to that?

Now you're making insane rants because "The UI isn't finished half a year before the game is released!"

I know it's PD, but even they don't need half a year to finish the UI.

Not even close....
Join him, disprove me.

No worries, I'll search for that chart. I'll surely find something, but you can do the same instead of doing nothing at all.

:)

I'm not going to buy it, I probably will not buy a ps4 either so no more gt for me. I have to say...

Thank you Kaz, PD, and Sony, we had a great run and I used to really like the experience  👍

My point is that I'm laughing at anybody who thinks there's a chance that hundreds of standard cars won't be in GT6.

The speculation being made right now and subsequent complaining is silly. However, the whining and complaining as a result of the return of standard cars has merit.

What's taking you so long? :)

That took like 45 seconds to google.

About the amount of cars, an average racing game (Like say, Need For Speed or DiRT) has an average of about 60 cars without DLC. What we possibly might be getting from GT6 are 60 to 90 new cars. That's more than Need For Speed Most Wanted and DiRT 3 (with all it's DLC), and I don't see anyone complaining about the amount of cars in those games. Add a cockpit view and different characteristics for each one, and that's pretty damn impressive.

I get what you mean, and agree. Sorry for my wording. I wouldn't doubt that there are Standards. I mean it is the same complaints me and you have been seeing, probably laughing at too for the last two years.

And that search thing he was talking about. I think he was talking about searching it on here. The search feature is disabled on here for some reason

Interesting, and what if you do not count the dublicates? Because dublicates are actually the same car.

First of all, nobody said those games are better than GT5.

Second of all, the existence of those games doesn't mean that we can't complain about GT5's car list.

Just because a vehicle is from a different year but has no body changes doesn't make it the same car. :odd:

In gt5?

If not then I admitt that I was wrong with the biased thing.

You are wrong.

Now, as mentioned earlier, take it to the proper thread, where something very similar was claimed (and disproved) just the other day.
