FINAL ENTRY
Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Sprint 1967
-PS5 Raytrace-

Beautiful job mate! I finished my Giulia this morning but still hadn't time to post it...

I'm sorry you won't be the only one (and sorry I won't be the only one! )

I just hope I'll have time to post my entry before the dead line, I still have to take every pics needed.

FINAL ENTRY

PS5 Ray Tracing

Found of Alfa Romeo I chose it quite a long time ago, especially when I saw most of the entries were American cars.

The Alfa Red was an obvious choice but I wanted something different so I went with the Alfa Romeo Verde Muschio.

Before anyone asks, yes, the GT40 Mk1 is a #Road Car. :D

This is sort of a less-is-more approach, ready to enter events like the Nürburgring or Spa-Francorchamps 1000 km. I decided against adding the front tow claws, as they were a feature of the Mk2 and not the Mk1.

Just added another bonus shot

This is based on the stock car/short track/hot rod/oval races that ran in Ireland, a grass roots level series that had equivalents all round the world. Same idea as Nascar and speedway races, that you can see the whole race from the stands, most of the cars even through to the nineties featured mainly sign-writer lettering for local small businesses, possibly because they had to be re-applied so frequently; 'rubbing is racing' indeed :)

The last photo is of a local rally from the 70's, which is the type of racing that was even more popular, but I liked the heavier advertising on short track cars. Some of the cars had more elaborate painting on the bonnets, where they had a better chance of surviving for a few races

I always liked the 'Cookstown Sizzler' cars simply because they had a dirty big sausage on the side, so I went with that theme and added one of a series of TV ads that ran in the 70's featuing Northern Irish celebs holding susages. I don't know how recognisable the face is but there's a bit of marketing magic tying the slogan to his name :)

I kinda wanted the livery to be a bit shoddy like the real cars, and was thinking of the murals which were all the rage in N. Ireland at the time, where the artist's enthusiasm 'overcame' any technical/artistic shortcomings; hopefully it's the right sort of 'crap' :)

It's a stock base colour livery, aiming to work with all the colours but I only had 3 to check it on
