The Theme LEC #47: Cartificial Intelligence
Set by: @syntex123

Get AI to design a livery - then replicate it. Since it churns out weird decals, the sponsor decals can be used freely. Only the main design needs to stay the same.

Cars: Any

Body parts/Widebody: Any

Liveries: Any style

Unique restrictions: None

Bonus picture requirements: No unique requirements

User made/showcase decals: Allowed

General Rules

 • You are only allowed to enter one livery, you must have made it yourself, and it must not have been entered in a GTS/GT7 LEC before.
 • Chat about the theme is encouraged, but you must follow the entry submission rules below, and please avoid posting other liveries where ever possible.
 • If judgements are needed regarding the suitability of the entry, these will be at the discretion of the member that selected the theme.
 • Standardised entry photos and entry layouts provide a level playing field and the guidelines must be respected.
 • Do not edit your photos.
 • You may be asked to share your livery if shenanigans are suspected.
 • Discussion about the LEC format in general should be taken to this thread: Future of Livery Editor Competitions
 • Blatant disregard for either the rules, or the spirit of the competition may result in your entry being disregarded.
 • The winner gets to nominate the next the theme from the Theme suggestions list, or can nominate a special theme related to a real world event.

Submission Rules
 • Entries should be made in their own post, your entry should contain the elements listed here, no more, no less
 • 1) The opening line should read FINAL ENTRY, and make it Red to help us find them for the poll. (FINAL ENTRY)
 • 2) Two main pictures (Mandatory Pictures), these may not exceed 640 pixels in either direction, but ideally should link to a larger version. See Image Posting below.
 • 3) In spoiler tags (
...
) you may include two further Bonus Pictures. These also may not exceed 640 pixels in either direction, and can ideally can link to larger versions.
 • 4) The content of Bonus Pictures might have been specified in the theme, if they have, you must respect the requirements stated - otherwise they can be Scapes, race photos or screencaps from within the livery editor.
 • Nothing else is needed. Explaining your entry is encouraged, but please do so in a second post - this isn't regarded as double-posting by the moderators. Including anything else in your submission post only makes things take longer.

Mandatory Picture Settings
 • Mandatory pictures use pre-defined Scapes.
 • One of your two mandatory pictures must be a front quarter view, the other must be a rear quarter view.
 • Your two mandatory pictures must use either of the following locations (it doesn't matter which location you use for which view), "Pit Lane / Oita - Japan" or "Aomori Museum of Art / Aomori - Japan"
 • How to set up the scene:

Focal Length: 60 - 85mm
Aperture: f5.6 - f16
Shutter Speed: 1/60 Second
Exposure Correction: +0.0 to +1.0 (screen dependent)

NOTE: if you have previously entered, just go to Scapes > My Library > click your previous entry > Open Scapes > change car to the new entry, refocus and snap a new photo. No need to reposition the camera/car unless its proportions are wildly different.

Image Posting
 • Images must be no bigger than 640 pixels wide or tall, and click through to higher resolution versions.
 • Images should be hosted ideally on GTP, via the Media section. Images hosted by Flickr or similar will also be accepted. Go here for advice on how to do this.
 • Do NOT use the 'Attach Files' function below the reply box when submitting your options.
 • Again, do NOT edit your images. They must be as they were when taken in Scapes/Photomode.

Deadline, on or by: Sunday, 2nd April

Good luck everyone!

This will be fun :D
Syntex suggested it as a technique for coming up with ideas when inspiration is otherwise lacking.

I've used an Ai logo generator to create fake imaginary sponsor logos before, and I've even dabbled in get Ai to write SVG, but I've never used it for coming up with an idea in the first place before.

I haven't made anything for the other LEC yet, and what I've thought about for this is looking like being somewhat tricky.

i've asked ChatGPT to generate some racing liveries.
Got a few good ones already, now it's up to me to try and re-create them in GT7.
This is a fun competition so I might enter this one as well if I succeed :D

Any names of free use ai sites to try this? I would like to have a go but am a little lost on this one.

ChatGPT.com is an easy one... the interaction might go a little something like this...

Which isn't bad...

I tried something similar on Gencraft, and it was pretty hopeless... but it could make for a 'deliberately bad' livery, if done well...

I just gave Chatgtp a go with a throw away idea just to see what it would do, pretty cool. “Ladies and gentlemen, the Graceful Dead” as renamed by Chat on the wing😂

Do we have to post the AI results as well? I thought about this competition for a while but didnt know there were enough free AI tools plus most of them probably need some custom decals

My entry was generated by ChatGPT with the use of the Red Bull brand.
the design is was given felt very DTM and only one car stood out for the task!
The car colour is a Dark Blue tinted Matte Carbon fibre

Here is the ChatGPT design i was given.

due to the lack of sponsers i have applyed the sponser decals of the #33 car of RAST.

That has 787b written all over it
I know, but all that colour fading into another....not my cup of tea :D
I've only done that once, and it was for the LEC that revolved around using colour transistions like this.

So, anyone else, feel free to take advantage of this livery created by my ChatGPT assistant :P

Yeah, it would be nice to see what the AI made too, not just the entry. In a spoiler of course.

Yeah, imagefx seems to do quite a good job ... Best of the ones I've used so far.

Speaking of spoiler. :D
Gotta check out imagefx, though. Looks nice.

Sorry for my absence again. Got some news at the doctors office that weren't too nice.

Aaaaanyway let's spoiler up those non-entries, or at least scale them way down for less confusion. :D

I use Bing(I dislike Bing, but it's image creator and AI is decent), if anyone is curious. It uses Dall-E 3, and though it can come up with weird stuff, most stuff is quite decent.

I'd suggest that you guys use the following prompt (but tweak it to your liking of course):

side view, top view, front and rear 3/4 view of a <insert car name>, a minimalistic <insert "livery"> livery, white background

So for example for my entry:

side view, top view, front and rear 3/4 view of a Volkswagen Samba Bus, a minimalistic vintage surf car livery, white background

If it doesn't generate what you need, play with it. But that's usually how I structure my prompts to get more angles in one pic, dead on side view is hard to generate. It definitely prefers the quarter view.

FINAL ENTRY

Rushed entry. Copied the flowers. Might change my entry. It looks bad.

Rushed and entered to get a sample out there for the ones struggling to vision this theme. I will most likely change to one with actual sponsors and copy the main sponsor, once I generate a car I'm happy with. I've generated and saved hundreds, just never satisfied with them once I begin recreating them

I used Bing to generate some livery ideas. It took quite a few attempts, but eventually I settled for a postmodern and abstract livery inspired by a fox. Bing only gave me a front view of the livery, so what's happening on the sides and at the rear were unclear.

The generated image is a bit quirky, like most AI pictures, but I decided to try to replicate that quirkiness as faithfully as I could.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the result, my only regret is that I got the proportions of the fox a little wrong. The fox consists of around 30-40 layers, so editing all that to change the proportions is out of the question.

Great job! Though I do prefer the ai-generated Berlin-based license plate instead of the Stuttgart one.
