Quotes from a Finnish newspaper, they had interviewed Finns that have emigrated to the USA. Coming from a 76 year old lady in Florida:

"Trump is really a truth speaker. We don't watch any other channels than Fox. They tell the truth. They take both sides into account. CNN, ABC and NBC only lie and never tell the truth. If you're a republican, you can't listen to them."

From a 87 year old man, also in Florida. Perhaps not surprisingly he's great friends with the aforementioned lady.

"The democrats are going to change too much at once in this country. Look what happened in Venezuela? They're going to do the exact same thing here."

Yes, there truly are people that far removed from this world. No idea how.

Yeah. What's really sad, and it really bothers me, is that I've seen this first hand countless times over the years. Just today I was speaking with an old high school friend whose parents, now in their early 80s, watch FoxNews 24/7. I would never have called them "liberal" but his mother is now convinced we're turning into a communist hell-hole and BLM members will be breaking through her windows. I see it with my wife's father and step mother, who are hard core Trumpers and have moved away from Fox which they think has "gone liberal" and now watch OAN, which "tells the truth" that Fox USED to report. I see it with my wife's mother who used to be a Clinton Democrat and now twice voted for Trump. She too has Fox on all day long. I saw it with my mother's brother after he retired and went from moderate to hard core Trump supporter (even though he lives in Canada) and he listens to rightwing news 24/7. I see it with several of my father's old circle of friends who constantly mention Sean Hannity or Tucker Carlson and how this country has "gone to hell". When I was younger, I learned a lot of my own political knowledge thanks to that trio. Thank goodness they were more open minded back then. I saw it with my own father, who had dementia later in life. He got into the habit of watching FoxNews. There were times, before I blocked the channel, that I showed up and he was red and angry and swearing but he was so far gone at that point that he could only spit out, "God damn Democrats" without being able to articulate why.

I think it's a bit of a phenomena with older people in particular who start to suffer cognitive decline and they are no longer able to really watch Fox's propaganda programs objectively. They tend to take it as pure truth and they don't seem able to question what they're hearing. It's free speech but I think in many ways, rightwing radio and TV has been a subversive influence, especially on older generations, but also on the weak minded. They're not only fed propaganda but they are almost programed to believe that other news sources are all "fake news".

I really hope the Republicans that somehow managed to win their elections despite the Democrats rigging it (or weren't up for re-election) realize Trump will take them down with him unless they jump off while they still can*.

*I don't particularly like any of the Republicans, but the sooner they turn en masse on Trump the sooner this mess will be over.

I'm very excited for a time when I don't know every single member of the executive cabinet, their back story, and their deputies - I even recognize staff-level names in this admin. There's people at my own office (which is only 42 people) that I can't put name to face. I do not EVER want to be this in the weeds with a Presidential administration again.

Exactly. The elections were rigged. Massive Voter Fraud. Stolen Election. EVERY Republican who was elected or re-elected to the House or Senate should speak up. Trump is effectively delegitimizing their own wins.

But of course, winning the Presidency was never for the good of the country or the good of the party or the good of the people. It was ALWAYS about how it benefits him, personally. It was always ALL about him. It's just amazing to me, that even now, 71 million people still haven't figured this out. But when large portion of them apparently believe he's fighting a secret battle against a baby-eating pedophile ring, they're probably not in the best position to judge.

Nearly 4.4 million now, and up to 50.6%, with California, Illinois, and New York at 89%, 90%, and 84% respectively.

You reckon? I suspect that if she's come this far then she's willing to wait for him to pop his clogs. He's 74 and hardly the picture of robust health, she's 50. She's done very well raising her place in society by marrying him, and I'm not sure that divorce does anything valuable for her.

Yes, I am assuming that she's every bit as calculating and conniving as the rest of the family.

Mitt Romney has been asked to lead Health and Human Services in Biden administration

It seems weird, but I wouldn't hate it. I know Romney had a "RomneyCare" plan when he was governor and with healthcare being such a hot button issue, it wouldn't be the worst idea to reach across the aisle and put a moderate (or at least by today's standards moderate) Republican in charge of it. I know Progressives and Trumpers will hate the move, but I think those in the middle will see it as sort of an olive branch.

As long as he stays in the Senate. The democrats are going to need a republican they can work with in the senate.
