I thought they were to keep my hand from getting cold. My drinks don't sit around long enough to risk warming up anyway.

Heat exchange works both ways, right? If your cold drink is insulated to prevent your hand from getting cold, that insulation also prevents your body heat from warming the drink.

What @TexRex said. Some I drink quickly and some take longer. The Yeti one works better either way.

Meh. Let there be organizations and people lining up to sue these assholes for everything they are worth; just like their papa always tried to do whenever anyone said anything mean about him. If people like Rudy and Powell want to scream "MUH RIGHTS" at the slightest sign of public pushback against the stuff they are shoveling, let their noses be rubbed in it when someone isn't willing to let them get away with it.

I get it. A not insignificant part of me would like nothing more than them to get absolutely hammered--to the extent that they can be by law--so that anyone who may employ them either for legal services or for their mere presence considers them to be the liabilities that they so plainly are, and since the GOP can be expected to play this game every election cycle where a seat they hold or may hold is at stake going forward, because they're ****ing garbage on parade, so that any private party who may go to bat for them thinks long and hard about the lengths to which they're willing to go.

But in the case of the Lincoln Project, a political action committee--unlike Dominion, who have an actual business model and got hit hard by baseless accusations--any attempt at seeking relief is likely to be litigation as political theater. That's precisely what those seeking relief for unsubstantiated allegations of election fraud, whose efforts weren't the least bit meritorious, were going for; it was a show for the base.

The simple fact is that only the broken and stupid think the claims of Rudy et al hold any weight, and so diminishing returns absolutely apply with regards to the Lincoln Project's efforts to combat them.

You hate to see it.

Haaaang on... what? Ted Cruz is backing away from supporting Trump's nonsense? That can't be right. I need a link to this story.

I gather they're remarks he made on his YouTube show--"The Verdict with Ted Cruz"--that appears to consist of him being interviewed each episode.

I wonder if McConnell's going to wake up next to a horse head soon.

Advocates are advocates, and so they should be judged by their advocacy rather than their past clients, but these are some odd choices for representation by this client.

"most powerful Italian Mafia figure in the world"

As opposed to the most powerful Italian Mafia figure in... Italy?

That wording just tickled me a bit.

Maybe Trump made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Well, advocates advocate. I can't begin to imagine what Trump offered them--beyond the confidence I have that it wasn't money--to advocate on his behalf, but his having chosen them for any reason outside of cronyism has me ansolutely flummoxed.

Somewhat serious answer to what I gather was a somewhat sarcastic comment.

I can't believe anyone would take a job from Trump, just based on his record of not paying for services rendered.

That's sort of where I am.

I will say that an assured victory as offered by the GOP contingent of the United States Senate surely garners some appeal.

Sorry for the double post. Looks like this thread isn't ready to be closed down quite yet as the election still isn't over in what passes for some people's minds:

I genuinely feel bad for the employees of MyPillow, this nutjob holds their livelihoods in his hands and it seems he doesn't even care that his actions are pretty much dooming the company.

Apparently another business leader has been throwing her money behind the Trump empire and funded the January 6th rally that led to the attack on the Capitol. Publix Supermarket heiress Julie Jenkins Fancelli provided the majority of the $500,000 to fund the rally. Now Publix is trying to say she is not an employee of Publix and is not involved in their business decisions.
