Oh I'm a bigot just because I have a different viewpoint of yours hmm interesting

No, that would be because of your blanket statements, so cut the crap.

frestkd
maybe you might want to look at yourself in the mirror, and ask yourself that very same question.

There was no question. And you seem confident enough to suggest I try self-reflection. Strange, for someone who doesn't know the first damn thing about me.

frestkd
I'm not going condemn, or condone homosexuality, because I have friends who are gay, straight, black, brown, Asian, and white. Heck I'm married to a Buddhist Thai woman, and I'm White Lutheran man.

Irrelevant. I have black friends, so I can't possibly be racist etc etc.

So please don't post such ignorant comments.

Hypocrite much?

Do you even think before typing this?

I know through firsthand contact with gay people (which I haven't fabricated out of whole cloth as I suspect you may have done) that this is NOT true. The gay and lesbian individuals I have met, have become friends with, and REMAIN friends with are no more or less likely than anyone else to be *self-absorbed.
True dat. Most homosexuals are indistinguishable from anyone else in terms of day-to-day behavior, which is probably shocking to some...

Dude ... it's not up to me if it's ok or not ok it's up to God he/she is going to be judging us, not you or anyone else. Live our lives in the basic principles of the teachings of your religious up bringing, and not be concern about the details. In my opinion homosexuality is a selfish act in a selfish society.

I have to warn him, frestkd, these guys will attack anyone and everyone who tries to say homosexuality is not OK. The only reason most who say this do is normally because we are religious and they don't listen to that form of argument.

BTW, Greeks and Romans had false Gods- sometimes even just a statue. These false Gods normally promoted greed and selfishness, not prevent them.

What makes you so sure they had false gods?

They had the "structured religious foundations" that frestkd says they didn't have. Which kind of belies that as a "cause" of homosexuality.

I note that you've made no attempt to address this point yet.

My life doesn't revolve around this site, and Gran Turismo ... I love the game, and GTPlanet, but between work, trying to get my wife here from Thailand, and some dental work done I don't have time to look at posts on a daily basis.

Using condoms and other birth control treatment is not selfish just smart, because there's some nasty STDs out there.

Says the fellow importing a wife from the Far East version of 1-800-DIAL-A-BRIDE... :sly:

I know that's mean but dear god, how could I not??? My apologies :sly:

No, we will attack anyone with weak, illogical arguments. There's a big difference.

In what way is my opinion of homosexuality is weak? Hmm I think it's selfish I don't if it good, or bad, and really don't care at this point in my life.

Because by your own admission it's based on limited personal experiences. Think of it this way - perhaps you've met a few "flaming gays". How many gay people have you met without realizing they are gay? It's not like gays and lesbians walk around with the word "Homo" branded on their forehead, now do they?

Yes, but in some parts of the world like the U.S.A. we have this problem of not thinking all alike, which can be good most of the time, but bad other times. At least we don't treat women, and homosexuals like the Islamic Fundamentalists do!

I Think Homosexuality Is Wrong Because God Created A Man And A Woman In The Beginning, No Other Combo. Can You All Read This Now? This Is Only Around The 4th Or 5th Time I've Posted It.

That's like David Duke saying "At least I don't kill Jews by the millions like Hitler did"... it doesn't make his bigotry any more justifiable.

I did spell it right you do know there's different spellings of strait .. I used the body of water strait not the straight and narrow one .... hehe

I like how you think you're clever while still being wrong, and adding the little, hehe, like you're G.W.B. or something.

Oh yer just pissy about my viewpoints are to black and white, and I think some ideas like gun control is pure evil. So chill out they're just opinions.

Another blanket statement? You seem to enjoy those.

No more or less likely, in fact, to posess ANY arbitrarily-selected personality flaw.

*(I use self-absorbed rather than selfish for reasons that I'm sure several people here, particularly Danoff, will appreciate :sly:)

If I'm "pissy" about anything, it's not the black-and-white nature of your opinions. It's that when confronted with the fact that they pertain to an issue that is NOT black-and-white, you refuse to clarify them in defiance of all logic. This isn't the gun control thread so I'm not addressing that any further here. The most ironic thing is that when confronted with an issue that SHOULD be black-and-white ("are gay people sinners/evil/immoral/whatever"), you take a middle-of-the-road stance.

Wow ... interesting ... my opinions are blanket statements, and bigoted? What gives you the right to judge me? Just because I believe there's a high power like God you condemn my viewpoints what type of person are you? You're the bigot not me you ignorant self righteous person. I view the homosexual lifestyle as a choice nothing more. Yes I don't know you, but who cares every user that gets on GT-Planet has one single thing in common we all like a video game produced by Sony, and Polyphony Digital.

What's wrong with being selfish? I enjoy a little selfish fornication every now and then. Does that make me evil?

No it doesn't ... just means you're selfish not a bad person ... everyone will be selfish few times in their lives.

When you post your opinion in a discussion forum online, you should naturally expect it to be challenged, especially on such a hot-button topic.

We aren't condemning your viewpoints because you believe in God; many people here believe in God, and argue their viewpoints calmly and rationally, and as such they are treated with similar respect.

Many of your beliefs and opinions are factually flawed, and those that aren't open to factual judgement are questionable, morally, or argued in a flawed manner. That's all anyone is attempting to point out.

You yourself say that you have strong black-and-white opinions, and that you tend to get under people's skin, and you act surprised when someone responds with indignance? C'mon.

<edit> it seems you're hacking slowly through the thread and responding to each message in sequence... in which case I'm going to sit back for a while and let this play out. Time to pop the popcorn :sly:

1-800-Dial-A-Bride wouldn't take me so I had to go onto yahoo chat rooms. I have heard every joke in the book about marrying a foreign woman from Thailand. I can see the reason for American men going homo, because how some American women act these days, but me liking women to much I decided to go to Thailand.

I am heavily Against religion, in any shape or form, especially Christianity. I had a friend who i met on a playground, Who got into an argument about me "Going to Hell" because I wasn't Christian. He beat me with a large stick, calling me a "Hellborn fa***t who deserves to die." Because of this, I appose the the Christian moral that gay=bad, so I could care less about who's screwing who. As for the Gays, I feel happy for them. They've found love.

I have met all kinds of homosexuals, and few became friends, but most of them that I have met are bit selfish. Thai lady-boys are interesting, most of them look like women, and sometime I couldn't figure out until my wife told me.

At least he wasn't a Grand Dragon of the KKK like this guy ...

Yes he was ... interesting huh!

You're more of a bigot than I am dude ...

big·ot : a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion, or one who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ, or a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from his own.

Yes I'm smart enough to look on the Internet, cut, and paste!

Off-topic for a minute, but this is serious - if you really met her in a yahoo chat scenario, be careful. There are quite a few scam organizations that operate in exactly that scenario - do some serious research before you go any further. If you really feel compelled to go through with it, make sure you're directly paying for the transportation costs yourself - do NOT send money outright. I'm not kidding here, I'm trying to help. These situations are SKETCHY.

Back on topic, men don't "go homo" - that's another of the factual fallacies I'm talking about. Whether the trait is "nature" or "nurture", it's essentially proven to be immutable. Every single "gay therapy" or "get straight" group that's had even the slightest degree of scrutiny has proven to be a sham. In most cases, the LEADERS of these groups are caught in gay bars by enterprising photographers.

The gay guy across the street didn't "go gay" anymore than you "went straight". You just are, and he just is.

You keep on insisting that we're INTOLERANT of your opinions. Not the case.

We're tolerant of them in that we believe you have the right to hold and express them

That doesn't mean we have no right to disagree with them and voice our disagreement.

And for my part, I have never called you a bigot in any post I've made. Others may have.

I was raised not to judge others, treat them like I want to be treated and I was once accused of being gay by some of my so called childhood friends. God is one who judges us at the end so why worry about it until then.

I read post one at a time, and I'm sorry if I'm not fluent in the ways of program that GT-Planet uses.

Because you're right that there's two spellings for straight/strait, but you used the wrong one in the situation. Therefore YSSMAN was correct, and you're still wrong.

grammatically wrong yes, but in my viewpoint maybe ...
