If they released a livery editor as gt6 DLC or even a mini game (export, edit, import) in ps store for let's say 19.99us. Would anyone here buy it?

If by mini game you mean an entirely separate downloadable app that would allow you to trade/sell/create liveries(and logos and etc), then that could be interesting. Especially if that program worked on the Vita too so you could manage your liveries while away from your PS3. I wouldn't pay for that, though. And I'd have to be really desperate to pay for an in-game livery editor DLC. I would hate myself for paying for it, but I would do it if I realllly wanted to make some liveries.

If PD does have a livery editor planned, I just don't see why they would withhold that information from the gaming community until this point.
Eh, I can, because the fact is that there is something of a cold war going on between Polyphony and Turn 10. We really know very little about their respective games. In a way this is frustrating, but it also makes it more engaging and exciting around times like this, when many of us are gathered around the glowie displays awaiting news from the latest gaming convention. For me anyway, I like it.

I'm fortunate that I'm down today, mostly exhaustion, but regardless, I doubt I could function at work today. Still not all there. But I have a feeling that the magic hour will have me on the edge of my seat with some seasoned popcorn. :D

Oh, and thanks for the kudos on the liveries. I sure had some fun getting them right!

I would not even pay $1 for a livery editor on principle.

I would assume something like a livery editor would be included as part of the finished game not DLC. I just can't imagine PD making it additional content. It seems wrong on every level.

Yes, i would get it. That's the whole point of the DLC get it if you want it. If you don't like it "for the principle" or because you don't like DLC then don't.

This place is so negative, i come here once a week or so, and i can't stand it. It's like a whole bunch of kids complaining (more like whining) about a toy they are about to get. I can't imagine PD dropping by and staying more than a few seconds.

There are some things you don't make DLC. This is one of them.

Fighting negativity with more negativity will not make things better.

I hear you. However, a couple of things on that.

1. I'm resigned to it.

2. The griping over features probably does add some urgency to the team to work on things fans want badly. That squeaky wheel effect.

So, buck up chum, be British! :D

One more thing. I can kind of, sort of, almost, possibly see the Livery Editor as a paid for app. Almost. I sincerely doubt such a popular feature would be pushed off as a paid for application, unlike 3D which has its place but lacks the wide market presence of 3DTVs.

Except that it's exactly why PD should be here.

Hearing that you've done a great job is nice. Everyone needs a pat on the back every now and then to make them feel like they're doing a good job.

I suspect having made a game that sells 10 million+ copies would give you that impression, as it should. They hardly need GTP for warm fuzzies.

They should be here looking for all the things they could improve in GT. If they want to improve, and every designer should want to improve their work, the GTP forums are the best place ever for feedback about what they're doing wrong. Sure, you might need a bit of a thick skin sometimes, but that's why you have interns troll for information and bring back the good stuff nicely phrased. There's a lot of valuable information for a designer here.

Would that even be worth it though? Those cars were all the same, the stripe was in the same place and the same style. If that was their idea of a livery 'editor' then they're seriously out of touch.

What's more likely to me is a change to the pre-order car list.

The Cizeta makes it interesting. I'd tend to agree with Samus that it's likely an additional preorder car, or for some deal that we haven't heard about yet.

But I suppose there's always hope.

Could easily be a regional pre-order car or a special one for certain retailers somewhere.

If it looked different in some way I'd have more hope but that tyre tread design is clearly the 15th anniversary 'design'.

Yeh, on first watch, looked promising, but re-watching does show they all have that same 15th anni design.

Indeed. The fact that there was only one "livery" design is a bit of a red flag. If those cars were intended to showcase a livery editor, you'd think they'd have tried to show the variation of what was possible.

So...pretty safe to say if we don't hear any announcement by the end of Gamescom then we can kill hope for a livery editor in GT6?
