The in-game music is starting to worry me

I've always/mostly had the music playing but if they allow playing tracks from HDD it's not a worry if there's no music with the game. I don't know how the music rights work, if it's a per-released-game basis or not but it would be cool to have all the music from previous GT games and some new tracks, that would take up next to no space on a blu-ray.

lol, you worry about the soundtracks?
Man, first you can turn off music if you don't want to listen to it. If you want to listen to custom soundtracks use a CD or you can copy the music you want on the PS3 hard drive and then do the same as in GTPSP, listen to your own soundtrack.
If I would drive a car in real life I need some music to relax (well, I relax with some Death Metal, Deathcore, Thrash Metal and all kind of Metal sorts). I also can understand the people who turn the BGM off, that's nice, too. ;)
but dude, don't worry about BGM, lol, there are more important things to worry about (for example why I can't find a girlfriend) XD
Whatever, what I wanted to say is, if you don't like the soundtracks, turn it off and if necessary listen to radio, CDs or from the Hard drive, but don't worry about the soundtracks. :)

All the music in the GT5 Demos are new songs like surv1v3, rock star, gt ps intro music, 458 italia teaser music etc. They are nice music for trailers and intros , but not for a race!:yuck: They just rip off all my feelings to GT. Where's my good ol' Freedom to Win? Kiss you Good-bye? Green Monster? From the East to the West? Soundtracks that have been included since the Japanese. ver. of GT1?

It seems that PD is trying make GT5 a revolutionary game like GT3 and forget about the past

I just hope PD will keep them.

I turn it off for Races, only I turn it up for Replays.

Besides, I think GT5 you will be able to play your own music, so dont worry.

Only Menu music for me.

But if it bugs you so much, turn it off, or wait for GT5 with custom soundtracks, all this worrying will make you grey before your time, if you arent already.

Don't you realise the world is getting hotter and the snow caps are melting.

In fact come to think about it PD's game should make you aware of climate change and the impact of cars.

Not.

What?? GT is GREEN bud, how is a Video Game Simulator of some of the most petrol hungry cars not?

You can run them a million laps a million times without a single emission!

A Healthy alternative to recreational driving.

The sweet harmony of the motor and screeching tires is all I need or want! I never understood how a person could hit all thier shift points correctly or keep that level of concentration with music blaring at you instead of hearing what is important(The car). Does anybody here hold a top 100 time while listening to music instead of the car? If yes then that would truely amaze me!

Snap.

Plus playing music back from the PS3 Hard Disk was confirmed wasn't it? So nothing to worry about.

I keep the music off during races too, only have it on for replays (and rarely watch them...)

But i dont think playing music from the hard drive has been confirmed by PD yet.. pure GTP rumour so far as i can tell.

You can adjust the volume of the music ingame. Besides, it doesn't put me off in the slightest.

My lack of top 100 laptimes is more to do with me using the x button on the Sixaxis than anything else. throttle control is haaard :grumpy:

I find that ingame music is always a plus, it introduces you to bands you may not have heard before. I would never have heard of Daiki Kasho or Feeder if it wasn't for Gran Turismo.

I just hope they get the EXHAUST and ENGINE and MECHANICAL sounds right. I could care less about in-game music, so long as my car doesn't sound like an Oreck.

But I hope PD will keep the traditional menu music anyway. From the east to the west, the drift of air etc.

To be honest, they should probably just go with Top Gear's countdown of Great Driving Songs. There's not one of them that I don't like.

Simples.

I dont see how it could fit in GT5, the menu music they have for Prologue, its much more "evolved" than the up tempo jazzy almost "pop-y" music in 1 and 2, i love Prologue menu music, its elaborate, relaxed yet energetic.

Can this thread get closed, I'm getting sick of all this "worry" stuff... And I thought we had another music thread already.

I'm more worried about car sounds than music, well it can be considerated as music for some like me. :D
Usually I turn off the in game songs but I left the menu music on. It makes the game feel classy.

Just One Second (Apex Remix) by London Elektricity is bloody awesome for driving in GT 👍
(The 458 Italia Tribute song)

I'd prefer they let us use our own playlists. I'd be shocked if that wasn't an option.

Custom MP3 play lists are confirmed. You can also turn the music off.

It must be said though that a big part of the experience for most racing games is the soundtrack. Those old enough to remember won't forget OutRun, Sega Rally, Ridge Racer, Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge (and 2), Top Racer, Daytona USA and even the little ditty's that play on Virtua Racing...

BUT yes... This is Gran Turismo 5 so that warrants some "Moon Over the Castle" and we'll get some other music, hopefully at least what comes with GT PSP and plenty more. GT PSP includes an orchestral MOtC, other menu music and these...

All the trailers we've seen so far have featured music that's in GT. I noticed that in GT4 there's a HUGE mix of classical music, pop music, dance music, rock music... Something for everyone.

There's nothing to worry about.

I'm inclined to agree. If all you have to be worried about is the music in a video game, I'd say you live a pretty trouble-free life. Be happy with your lot.

I'm not bothered, frankly. I blast my own music selection on my iPod, adjust the engine sounds to the max, and off the in-game music. They suck anyways.

I always turn off the music while racing, in all racing games. I like the jazzy, relaxed menu music, so I don't complain :P

Since GT2, I haven't listened to in game music on any of the GT games. Just turn up the engine sounds.
But just for fun, I put GT1 & GT2 soundtracks on my XBOX 360 & play them in the background while playing FM2.
Now if only I could do that with GT5P. But these days with the engine sounds & environment sounds becoming
more realistic, I much prefer them over music.

:)
