Rebellion wins the race and Muscle Milk takes the title. I'm okay with this 👍

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !!!! The @NissanDeltaWing has finished #PLM in 6th place. Amazing performance by the guys. #ALMS #PLM @Nissan_OnTrack
:D

Fantastic racing!

Hell yes, congrats on the Deltawing for completing the distance.

That Rebellion car does look VERY good I just realized. I like the way it looks better than the Audis and Toyotas I've just decided.

I was hoping for a bit more challenge between the two.. :guilty:

I was too. I'm glad Muscle Milk still got the title over Dyson though, it pissed me off so bad that they used team orders to win last year so I'm glad they didn't have a chance to do it again.

Plowman set the fastest lap of the entire race on the last lap. Conquest Racing dont go down without a fight. Excited to see them next year!

Good job Rebellion. Certainly not the level of competition they see in WEC, even in just the privateers, but the logistics effort needed to come to Atlanta, race competitively and win is remarkable. 👍

Also amazed that the #01 Ferrari made it after the commentators gave them no chance at the start of that stint. 👍

Grand-Am and ALMS done for the year :grumpy: oh well at least we have a few more F1 races to go and there is always napcar...maybe the blue deuce will send Dodge out in style and give the captain his first cup title.

I'm not supporting any team but team orders, I don't like them either but can't be ignored. I sort off accepted them.. I understand why... Hate to see it happen.

Don't forget the 6 hours of Shanghai!

Races like this are why I love sports cars over all other forms of racing. Sure the Rebellion car dominated, but I if it didn't crash with the GTC car I think it would have been a great race. Glad to see Muscle Milk win the championship. Both GT and P2 proved to be another fantastic race and even LMPC to a certain extent. Now for the long off season...

Just noticed that RSR came second in LMP-C, pretty happy for them because a friend was racing this weekend! I remember that kid driving his dad's Evo up the trailer 8 years ago, seat all pushed forward barely reaching the pedals almost standing in the car to see up the ramp on a 500hp Evo with a freaking race clutch! we all tought that was funny as hell and look at him now! 2nd place in Pettit LeMans!! Wow!

Whose your friend?

Because they're a standardized car which was designed prior to that rule being in place.

John Hindaugh keeps talking up this being the last year of the M3. What do you guys think, will RLL switch to a different car (Aston Martin perhaps?) Or will they bring out an M6 or possibly even a Z4?

Watching the race on ESPN now since I'm bored.
I must admit, it was VERY refreshing listening to Hindhaugh and not these crap commentators. :banghead:

He said previously that BMW where planning on making a GT-E version of the Z4 GT3 to replace the M3. A yuck idea to my view.

Whose your friend?

Ricardo Vera, he started out relatively late in karting and then went on to South America to the series that runs the former Toyota Atlantic cars and also did some Formula Renault in Europe before running the Imsa Prototype Lites last year, he ran Sebring, Laguna and Pettit this year in LMP-C.

What would be wrong with having a GTE version of the Z4? I would think it'd be a much better performing car since it won't have the inherent problems of a Saloon car in a class that predomanently features Front and Rear engined sports cars.

I'm anxious already to see the new cars! Rumor on the Vettes is that the C7.R is already beign built by Pratt & Miller.

Regarding the Lola situation, I just thought of this:

Lola cars is out of business but from what I read, Lola Composites (I'm assuming thats the people that do the sculpting of the bodywork and the carbon fiber) is still in business. I'm thinking two allternatives can be done with the former Lola Chassis:

1. Maybe Toyota can perhaps do something along the lines of what HPD did with the Courage LC75 chassis and possibly design a new car around it. Lola Composites could make the new bodywork and Toyota could supply them to the teams. It clearly worked out for the former Reynard 02S (look at how many evolutions came out of that) so why not here?

2. Maybe Dome can perhaps be subcontracted in to doing the redesigns (reffer to their BMW V12 Reworking) with Lola Composites as consulting roll.
Again once all that is complete, Toyota can supply that to the teams.

Now obviously In both scenarios, The chassis will have to be continue being made, but because the chassis and tubs are already compliant with the ACO's Crash standards, there wouldn't be any work necessary for crash testing. Toyota can also continue their factory P1 Program withoujt much interuption.

haha, such an awesome photo:

I mostly followed highlights of Petit Le Mans. All congratulations to Rebellion with that lovely Lola B12/60 (or whatever it is called) as well as to the Muscle Milk team for their 2012 P1 title. I don't care whether you love or loathe the DeltaWing- finishing 5th overall with perhaps one of the most unique sportscar racing machines in history is an impressive accomplishment.

Since the Speed Channel to ESPN/ABC move of ALMS coverage, I haven't been as active following the ALMS. A terrible shame, but still a fan.

Congratulations to all other winners in the respective classes at Petit Le Mans 2012.
