The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

So lets go for another yellow. Commercials will be Porsche, BAttery Tender, Yokohama, and IMSA GT3.

Edit: Ouch, 2 for 4. Forgot Holiday Inn and Xbox/Forza.

Both challenge classes had more action than any other class at the end (both within a few seconds for pole), yet they showed the Z4 driving by itself and Klaus Graf's fist pumping for his 40 second lead. Great coverage...

It was interesting, but all the yellows and penalties and wrecks really broke up all the excitement. Oh well, there's always next race.

I have no problem with Level 5, just Scott Tucker.. : p

Level 5 is owned/run/paid for Scott Tucker. So, by extension...

I am a bit bummed for Henzler though...

Also, I think this will bring some discussion about engine choice- The BMW (running a non-production engine) and Viper (Which has an engine which is MUCH too big) kinda stole the show. I forsee the BOP-Hammer coming down in the near future.

I'll be at the next race in person! Very excited.

Yeah it was an alright race.. not the best Long Beach race.. ESM LMP2 and RLL's Z4 both got a win in only their second race. I'm sure Guy Cosmo is glad to finally get a win again..

Indeed.

Bill Auberlen always seems so psyched. I like it.

And I'm not sure how legit the ESM win is when they got rocked by 2 PC cars..

Bill Auberlen is easily one of my favourite drivers, I'm getting his autograph this summer  Scott Sharp sounds like he should do a voice on Family Guy..

Me, too. I was also bummed for Risi, who jumped four spots in seven laps (though probably because of that hit in the hairpin that got them the +60 penalty, partially).

But Risi will do well later in the season. Falken only really shines in these kinds of environments, and I was psyched to see them going for it.

Unfortunately going for it at Long Beach means making a low-percentage move somewhere or other, trying to outbrake into these slippery corners, and they didn't quite have it there in turn 1. Couldn't get it turned around in time to take the position, and got the penalty....yeah just a crap end for their race. But this race is like the twilight zone, it feels like. At a certain point, you just gotta go for it.

It could also be read here as well.

Anyhow, looks like things have gone from bad to worse for that guy. Also, that article confirms my suspicion that he has been released from Ferrari as a factory driver.
