The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

Good God the 911 exhaust sound at 1:48!

The Audi looks just stunning and pure evil! The Porsche sounds, in my opinion, rather uninspiring. I cannot wait to hear Toyota's gloriously revving petrol engine again!

Speed is ~F1 niveau, looks are much better and the cars are actually durable?
The golden age of racing has returned!

Well I'd say yes since 2014 is suppose to be a major overhaul in many racing series as far as teams joining and reg changes, but I feel 2015 will be the start of the next gold era of racing as more big names enter. This is especially the case for sportscar racing with Nissan joining and Lexus with the GT3 car, and Ferrari potential and other things...

Tickets have arrived :D

I'll find a way around it, I have a couple of friends who are into motor racing and also drive so one way or another I'm hoping to get there! Worst case scenario I see round 1 of the WEC at Silverstone and put my Le Mans money towards going to more local races this year haha

Has anyone been able to find out what the test times were from this Sebring shakedown?

Been looking all over to come up with nothing, I figure it's being kept on the down low. I know the times aren't indicative of true performance yet (regulations on fuel not being set when they tested and that) but still... I would love to know.

Supposedly they were a lot faster than the DPs there at the test and could take turn 1 flat out, so that's something.

I've read from the guys on ten-tenths.com and on Mulsanne Corner group that the new Audi's fastest lap was 1:42.6 and that the rumours says that the new Porsche's best was 1:45.8. It is said that Porsche is facing a lot of problem with vibrations.

Planning on going to the 6 hours of Circuit of the Americas. I'm so excited. This will be my first time actually going to a Lemans race. I can't wait!

Am I the only one who thinks that poster is poorly 'shopped?

Looks like a days worth of work for a Belgian. Sorry, I couldn't resist. In all honesty though, it is indeed poorly done.
