Aaaaand back on topic-
Road America next, I still want David Heinemeier-Hansson and Martin Plowman to continue beating the snot out of Scott Tucker. In both of his cars.
Same here. Finally a team that can beat that scumbag.
Post has been edited with Scott Tucker awesomesauce.
Scott Tucker reminds me of that Short kid in middle school who overcompensates by being a prick.
What in that picture at the bottom? 3 Times national champion of what?
Scott Tucker is the Kyle Busch/Paul Tracy of the ALMS.
Except neither of these 2 have built their racing careers or racing teams off of fraud and stolen money. That alone is why I want this scumbag to be beaten and even have his career ended.
Hope they can get some custumers, I'd love to see this car run on this side of the Atlantic!McLaren AutomotiveMcLaren 12C Can-Am Edition racing concept announced:
McLaren GT, the team responsible for building the 12C GT3s seen racing across Europe this summer, are debuting a brand new concept racer at this weekends Pebble Beach Concours d'Eleganc...e. The 12C Can-Am edition - named after the infamous race series which saw some of McLarens greatest wins - is the first model that McLaren GT has displayed in North America, and is designed specifically for the market. The concept features the same carbon fibre MonoCell as the road going 12C, but adds a host of modifications designed strictly for the track: A brand new aerodynamics kit including splitter, diffuser and rear wing increases downforce by 30%, an uprated engine package generates up to 630hp, and extensive use of carbon fibre reduces weight to just 1,200kg (2645.5lbs). So what do you think, are you ready to race yet?
*snip*
I hope so too, and soon. Looks really close to the 12Cs run in Blancpain, and FIA GT1.
Same car, revised specs.
Question is, is it in compliance with the ACO regulations to race in Le Mans related series.
On paper it certainly is, 3.4 liter V8 is well withing the regs. It would be a matter of getting it homologated by them and ready to run. They are certainly trying to cover all possibilities with this concept, at 650HP there's no place for it but they can tur down the boost and come up with a muh reasonable package to either run ALMS GT-E or Grand Am GT-X.
The way I understand it, it´s a toy, like the Zonda R or Gumpert Apollo R, and not compliant to any series at all. Forced induction V8´s are a nono in GTE.
Just like 9,000 liter V10s...
Wouldn't the engine from the gt3 car still be leagal? If the aco didnt let the car run with its current engine the gt3 engine would be an option.
hawkeye122I was thinking the same thing...
If anything, they would either reduce the stroke length, or take the turbo off.
But with this Viper thing, it seems the ACO is desperate for factory entries. They might just allow it. Again, it would be heavily restricted.
sumbrownkidThey might as well allow turbo charging if they are willing to let a 9.0 L V10 in.
