I hope everybody has read Report #261.

No pitstops tonight, everyone to run 40 litre's in both cars all night.

Four 20 minute races tonight, first two in one car, next two in the other.

Group A drivers will do the first two races in the Merc, then switch to the BMW
Group B drivers will do the first two races in the BMW, then switch to the Merc.

And the standard call out for the race start will be "Green, Green, Green". As soon as you here the call being made you can go. There has been too much confusion lately so we need to keep this regular.

When we starting tonight? Sorry been out of the loop for too long. Didn't know you guys had a forum now thought it was all convo

Fun night guys, I had a feeling these cars would be a hoot. Rowdy bunch, but that just makes it more fun.

At about 12:33 you can see @yogi bear 's internet give me a virtual "bich slap."

At about 27:20 I realized @Rednose58 was going to be a threat, for what I thought, was going to be my finishing position. His drive from that point on was NICE!!! Well done @Rednose58 . Note 30:02, I'm 0.829 faster than my best lap trying to stay ahead, and he's still just chewing me up.

Totally forgot about tonight until it was too late... was busy trying to put the new race car back together after tearing it all down and repainting the frame... got brake master cylinders and pedals back in, and the brake bias adjuster. Need to redo the entire plumbing and wiring on this car as the previous owner had some crazy mad scientist crap going on... here's what it looked like after I finished riveting the floor pan back on

So, in order to race on Monday night, I've convinced my wife and son to have movie night for just the two of them. Earlier today I was at the store and picked up the movie "A Dog's Purpose". (For the record, I had no idea what it was about). If any of you have seen it, you'll understand why I got blasted from both of them when I went upstairs after racing tonight. If you look at the picture I've attached, those are our two dogs that have both passed away within the past four years. Apparently my wife and son only got through half the movie, we're both balling, and turned it off. Don't I feel like a "Hee-Haw!" :dunce:

Sweet!! Part of the fun of owning a race car is re-doing the previous owner's..uh..'engineering'. Or not. When I got my Club Ford, I used Carroll Smith's books as my Bibles. I wasn't the fastest (or second, or third or...) but by God I never had a DNF!

Man, that's rough Gr8, they're both beautiful. Another great dog movie is 'Hachi', but it's another tear jerker so probably better for a family night.
Next time make it 'Blade Runner' or 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' ( the full, three-hour unabridged version of course) - can't miss. Better yet pull up Amazon and put on 'Grand Prix'. Then it will officially be race night at the Lake's!

Lake's!

Yeah, Hachi is an amazingly gut wrenching film if you've ever had a close relationship with a dog. We watched that one about two years ago. Tonight I asked her, "Was it as bad as Hachi?" My wife responded, "Hachi was really sad, but it didn't make me start hyperventilating!"

Now, before everyone starts thinking I'm some kind of sadist, humor and sarcasm is a BIG part of my family dynamic... I know... You're all shocked! So my wife handles most things with a pretty light disposition. I'm hoping she'll find some humor in this tomorrow. :guilty:

Thinking more about it... I might go buy her flowers in the morning. :nervous:

Killer night of racing though!

Totally separate subject, so I'm posting again. Your frame looks awesome Robbie. I'm so envious of your project. As I said before, if you lived within driving distance I'd be honored to help maintain/rebuild your race car. Have fun with the plumbing. Take your time, plan and measure your bends, and you'll end up with some artwork. I'm sure @aerolite knows all about that, and is an artist in his own trade. I remember making a custom brake line once with a couple offsets, and I think eight or nine bends. When it fit perfect along the frame & crossmember I felt like Michelangelo. Again, I'm jealous. Nice job.

@gr8: I made the same mistake with the movie "Marley & Me". I thought it was going to be a comedy like the "Beethoven" movies were. It sort of was, until the dog aged and had to be put down. I caught a ration of .... from my wife and daughters. Sad to hear about your dogs, we put down our Great Dane/Black Lab mix last July. The kids still tear up when we talk about her.

Sorry bout the lag again fellas. I'm calling my internet provider today,

I didn't think I enjoyed last night, but after watching the replay, I feel better now. The racing was really good, but holy liftin, it was a loud room. Too loud. Too much wah wha wha. I know it was meant in jest, but it bordered on overkill, made me feel like a BOB.
Alex, wow, did I mess you up in race four or what? That was brutal on my part, my humble apologies. Super nice comeback though.
Jeez, I hate getting beat by Aeropolop. I thought I was bad for bragging, but I have to listen to him every week on how much better he is than me......even tho it's true, I still hate it.
Shout out to David who was racing like a veteran, very clean and faster, too.
Sgeti is AWESOME. He took me out about forty times last night.....all his fault. Lol

On to serious stuff....

Our starts are unbelievably brutal, to say the least. I can't stress enough how important it is getting into your assigned starting position quickly, so we can get going. We have been doing this for a while now and it seems to be getting worse every week. When Steve is calling out the starting order, shut up Colts, lol and listen. Don't interrupt so it doesn't have to repeated more than once. When the race is about to start, the only one who should be talking is the poll sitter to call the "green green green". And when you do call it, make sure it can be heard,(for once don't shut up Colts).

How's about that full room? Thanks to all you guys who make this Lounge what it is. Some of us have been racing together for a long time now, friendships develop and that is the core of this Lounge. Some guys leave and others show up, but I feel I know some of you better than a lot of my so called real friends.

Hugs and kisses to you all.

Hey @Gr8_Lakes , Another good choice is The Sound of Music. An oldie but goldie that never gets old. Always a hit with the lady-folk and kids.
Thank me later.

Bear, I hope you know I didn't mean anything personal! Your by far one of my favorite competitors, and lag is beyond your control. Sorry if I came across offensive.
Not at all gr8, I have a very thick hide anyway...it takes a lot to offend me....but a good bitch slap now and then is fun to do.
Oh...just an update on the lag issue...my internet provider has informed me that upgrades were done to our little community. I will be increased from 5megagoogles to 10 mega googles as of aug 11th...that's the earliest they can come out...
Then mama bear will be able to watch facetube while I race...(I'm also getting hard wired in)

Apparently not.
So your not sure? It's easy to check, if you see a cat5 cable going to it then you are hard wired. If not then you are WIFI and that is more than likely your lagging issue. Some leagues won't allow you in the room if you're not hard wired!

NOTICE
Back to the normal format next week.
Car choices and vote are in the usual spot. (Report#2).
We will be slowing things down, (age and speed), and either car will make for some good close fun racing at "Not Bannochbrae".
