Any of you have ever had a dream of a conventional and specific situation, like talking about some unusual subject to someone at work and listening to their answers, and then only weeks later you get that very same dialog in real life?

Happens quite frequently and I'm always aware of it, because I know exactly what people will say to me.

Is there any neurological/psychological condition or brain feature that may even start to explain this?

I think I'm getting insomniac... The last two nights it took me about 4 hours in bed before I fell asleep, and tonight was even worse, I never slept at all and was still awake when parents woke up to get ready for work. Now I've given up and have been up for a few hours with a slightly dizzy feeling, but still not very tired.

I don't know how harmful this is for my health, but I'll just say that it's the suckiest way ever to die from lack of sleep only because I can't do anything to help it.

Ive already posted this elsewhere but it probably belongs on here...

This dream follows the sort of theme which most of my dreams follow:

The sky was essentially 'flamed up' (very orange/black(twilight) colours); I was standing on some sort of metal structure looking through a window at an area in the distance where the sky was pitch black. Then I watched as circular machines (imagine a UFO-Type object on it's side) appear in the sky and start blasting lasers into the ground...

--------

(New Dream)
This dream occured a couple of days after that^ one:

I was standing in a sort of rough wasteland type area where a NASA type org. were operating.

----

In that^ dream I could remember the first dream...............

Yep, that's how they go..........:nervous:...........

(those dreams are just a sprinkle; there's alot more like that)

------

It's now got to the point where in 95% of my dreams I know 'what I'm doing'. If I feel uncomfortable in my dream I 'pause' and change the scene....

For eg. Say I'm being threatened by something; I know this mentally and 'go' somewhere else/start afresh. If I'm falling I 'wait/pause' and go elsewhere.

(Dream #3) Everywhere I 'went to' there was flaming pillars, hurricanes & lightning...it always seemed to be quite far away from me though...Quite helpful actually, considering that this dream came before my 'teleportation' :).

Yeah... it's a bit insane.

Yep, very frequently

A few days ago, I had a dream where they added a new F1 street circuit. The odd thing about it was that there was a section that was dirt and shaped like part of a rally track. Also, they didn't close off the circuit, and because of that, normal, everyday cars were on track. Anyway, I was one of the racers, I believe I was in a Red Bull. I did qualifying laps and had the fastest time, but they gave Alonso pole and they considered that I hadn't done any laps so I started last. So, at the race start, half the field crashed and there were no flags what so ever. I don't remember anything else though, but it was weird, since it was my third F1 related dream in the last month.

Last night, I had my trippiest dream I've ever had.

My dream began sitting in a cockpit of a racecar, I can't really compare it to anything...Speed Racer, maybe? Lol.

The car had about eight wheels in the back, with only one in front. I was on a dirt track, racing with numerous competitors, all of them animals.

I began, and as numerous people crashed at the beginning, the track layer suddenly shifted into a style similar to Rainbow Road in Mario Kart, riding a rainbow, neon smiley faces and stars across the black sky.

I was then distracted by a rabbit driver to my right, whereas the chimpanzee on my left spun me and I started flipping, then I woke up.

Good god, I knew Rainbow Road was trippy, but this...

Bolded mine.

These are the first steps in lucid dreaming; without awareness of control it's just another dream. You may want to get yourself the book Conscious Dreaming by Robert Moss, which will take you to a whole new level. A world of perception awaits.. . . . ;)

The irony in that sentence is that you are a kid 👍.

In all honesty though, I seem to have these reoccurring dreams that I might have once every 2 - 3 years. Creepy as hell. I also had a dream about bacon once. Just what felt like about 25 minutes of bacon being cooked, me eating it, different types of bacon, just... bacon. A bacon void. I enjoyed that one.

I bet you that if I have a good lucid dream, it will end within the first 5 seconds.

In what universe is 18(and-a-bit) classified as a 'child'?

Anyways, any time I have a repetitive dream where I'm either doing something sickeningly boring (...like doing maths :/) I always wake up with a sore head. :P

Something like deja vu? :dopey:

Did you watch Cars2 recently? :dopey:

Awesome Thread Moe!

I've had a fair few of these Lucid Dreams.. never known how it happens till today! My most recent one was about 3 months ago.. I was in some random city where I've never been or seen before.. I was driving a car and then before I knew it I was in a multi story car park and found a Jet-pack! So I ran over to it, picked it up and flew away!
The dream felt sooo real, I was flying around dodging the citys building and stuff! I think I was able to make my own choices since who wouldn't choose to fly on a Jet-pack! And I was NOT scared... It was one freaking amazing dream, the more I think about it, the more I remember...

I want to have another Lucid Dream!

QQ: How would you describe what a Lucid Dream is in one sentence(?)

(is it just a Dream where (like 99% of my dreams) you have serious mental awareness?

DW I'm googling it right now. :P

EDIT: Yep, exactly what I said.

I've had some crazy dreams the last few days. Don't remember hardly any of them, but they sure gave me that "whoa" feeling first thing in the morning.

Let's have a 1-day competition; quite simple really. Who has the best dream tonight(?) :D

Mine will either be pretty insane, very interesting, or massively boring.

It could be trippy, like mine was a few days ago =P
